Leukemia is a cancer that attacks and infects white blood cells which can hinder the capability for someone with leukemia to fight infections, which may cause severe complications or even death. While Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a certain type of leukemia that is the most prevalent childhood cancer. Detecting this disease is a repetitive activity that can take a lot of time and resources, meanwhile Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia has a fast growth rate. In this study, we will try to classify leukemia cancer using machine learning based on the images of white blood cells provided. This method could provide early diagnosis and reduce the burden on hematologist-oncologist by optimizing the resources that are available. This research will use the ensemble classifier concept by combining several SVM models like linear, polynomial, and RBF. That have been trained, then combined into one singular ensemble model. By combining these models, we hope to improve the classification performance by minimizing the drawbacks of using certain SVM kernels. The results of this classification obtained an accuracy performance of 70.01%.

Business intelligence in healthcare continues to evolve and is essential for increasing healthcare system efficiency, improving patient data management, developing entrepreneurship, and providing deeper insights for healthcare professionals to improve clinical services and outcomes. This study attempts to visually map the sector and examine current business intelligence trends in the healthcare sector. The study analyzes 547 secondary data publications from the Scopus database that were published between 2002 and 2022 using a bibliometric knowledge structure and level of analysis. According to the findings of the research conducted at Universidade do Minho, Portugal, and the United States were the most productive research institutions and countries related to business intelligence in healthcare. This research suggests classifying business intelligence in healthcare studies themes, such as business analytics, information systems, health service, internet of things, and analytics, into BIHIA research themes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Hierarchical B-frame Video Coding Using Two-Layer CANF without Motion Coding

Typical video compression systems consist of two main modules: motion coding and residual coding. This general architecture is adopted by classical coding schemes (such as international standards H.265 and H.266) and deep learning-based coding schemes. We propose a novel B-frame coding architecture based on two-layer Conditional Augmented Normalization Flows (CANF). It has the striking feature of not transmitting any motion information. Our proposed idea of video compression without motion coding offers a new direction for learned video coding. Our base layer is a low-resolution image compressor that replaces the full-resolution motion compressor. The low-resolution coded image is merged with the warped high-resolution images to generate a high-quality image as a conditioning signal for the enhancement-layer image coding in full resolution. One advantage of this architecture is significantly reduced computational complexity due to eliminating the motion information compressor. In addition, we adopt a skip-mode coding technique to reduce the transmitted latent samples. The rate-distortion performance of our scheme is slightly lower than that of the state-of-the-art learned B-frame coding scheme, B-CANF, but outperforms other learned B-frame coding schemes. However, compared to B-CANF, our scheme saves 45% of multiply–accumulate operations (MACs) for encoding and 27% of MACs for decoding. The code is available at https://***. Although Twitter is a popular platform for social interaction analysis and text data mining, it faces challenges with geolocation automation. To address this problem, the researchers propose the utilization of a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model to develop an automated Twitter crawling system. The system aims to collect data related to weather in Indonesia by employing Twin, a Python-based Twitter scraping software. To overcome null geolocations, the study incorporates aliases created based on the common practice of Indonesian users mentioning the country's location in tweets. The results demonstrate that the SVM model, combined with automated smart crawling, achieves an 85% accuracy rate.

Internet of Things (IoT) is a technology that is currently on a trend. Interconnecting networks on IoT are useful in the automation process, but it has vulnerabilities to network-based disruptions and attacks;such as Denial of Service (DoS). This study aimed at implementing the Naive Bayes algorithm to predict attribute classes using training data-sets from NSLKDD with the KDD99 format and obtained testing-data from the logging process of DoS attacks on IoT-based devices. The advantage of using Naive Bayes is that this method only requires a small amount of training data to determine the estimated parameters needed in the classification process. The results of the conducted research could detect attacks on IoT devices by using the help of snort tools to capture traffic logs. The results from the log were then converted into KDD99 format and processed by the Naive Bayes method. This research uses a training dataset from NSLKDD with KDD99 format which is widely used in various studies and testing data obtained from the IDS log process on the Raspberry Pi 3. The attributes used are 9 attributes namely;service, flag, src_bytes, dst_bytes, srv_serror_rate, same_srv_rate, diff_srv_rate, dst_host_srv_diff_host_rate and dst_host_srv_serror_rate. The results of the research analysis showed an accuracy of 64.02%. These results were smaller than previous results, but some aspects were still different from the actual results because the testing data and training data were taken from two different data-sets, thereby they had different characteristics. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this paper, we propose a novel approach to locate and detect moving pedestrians in a video. Our proposed method first locates the region of interest (ROI) using a background subtraction algorithm based on guided filtering. This novel background subtraction algorithm allows our method to also filter unexpected noises at the same time, which could benefit the performance of our proposed method. Subsequently, the pedestrians are detected using YOLOv3 within the provided ROI. Our experiments showed that the proposed method has a competitive performance in the CDNET2014 dataset with a fast-processing time. © 2021 IEEE.

Learning to assemble geometric shapes into a larger target structure is a pivotal task in various practical applications. In this work, we tackle this problem by establishing local correspondences between point clouds of part shapes in both coarse- and fine-levels. To this end, we introduce Proxy Match Transform (PMT), an approximate high-order feature transform layer that enables reliable matching between mating surfaces of parts while incurring low costs in memory and compute. Building upon PMT, we introduce a new framework, dubbed Proxy Match TransformeR (PMTR), for the geometric assembly task. We evaluate the proposed PMTR on the large-scale 3D geometric shape assembly benchmark dataset of Breaking Bad and demonstrate its superior performance and efficiency compared to state-of-the-art methods. This article conducts a comprehensive examination of brand-based equity closely linked to environmental sustainability in the Amazon Rainforest. The research is primarily dedicated to identifying the factors that influence consumers’ willingness to purchase products from sustainable brands within six categories: cosmetics, tourism, clothing, accessories, and food. The central aim of this study is to investigate how brand equity constructs, rooted in environmental sustainability within the Amazon Rainforest, impact consumer loyalty and purchase intention. To accomplish this objective, a mixed-methodology approach was employed, combining structural equation modeling with item response theory. This study involved 535 potential consumers, and data from eight selected brands served as the basis for the analysis. Within the framework of Purchase Intention (PI), the following variables were regarded as formative constructs: Strategic Brand Positioning (SBP), Perceived Brand Quality (PBQ), Retail Innovation (RI), and Brand Authenticity (BA). The results obtained from the structural equation models underscore the statistical significance and substantial impact of all pathways. Notably, SBP emerged as the most significant contributor to the effect on PI, as hypothesized. Brand equity and environmental sustainability were found to indirectly affect behavioral PI. Consumers exhibited a high level of latent trait (θ), with items consistently reflecting elevated values, confirming their acceptance of products, except brand differentiation. Overall, the findings highlight the effectiveness of branding strategies rooted in environmental sustainability in enhancing the brand equity of small forest companies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

This study aims to determine the effect of business strategy on the quality of accounting information, to determine the effect of leadership style on the quality of accounting information and to determine the effect of business processes on the quality of accounting information. This study uses primary data from a population of State-Owned Enterprises throughout Indonesia with a total sample of 61 state-owned enterprises, and is analyzed using a simultaneous equation estimation model or SEM (Structural Equation Modeling), the sample determination is done by purposive sampling. The results showed that (1) leadership style and business processes affect the quality of accounting information systems (2) business strategy has no effect on the quality of accounting information systems on accounting information systems at State-Owned Enterprises in Indonesia. © 2021 ACM.

This study introduces the system submitted to the SemEval 2022 Task 11: MultiCoNER (Multilingual Complex Named Entity Recognition) by the UC3M-PUCPR team. We proposed an ensemble of transformer-based models for entity recognition in cross-domain texts. Our deep learning method benefits from the transformer architecture, which adopts the attention mechanism to handle the long-range dependencies of the input text. Also, the ensemble approach for named entity recognition (NER) improved the results over baselines based on individual models on two of the three tracks we participated in. The ensemble model for the code-mixed task achieves an overall performance of 76.36% F1-score, a 2.85 percentage point increase upon our individually best model for this task, XLM-RoBERTa-large (73.51%), outperforming the baseline provided for the shared task by 18.26 points. Our preliminary results suggest that contextualized language models ensembles can, even if modestly, improve the results in extracting information from unstructured data. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.
