Digital tourism village potentially accelerates rural development hence improving a country's economy. The Indonesian government has developed hundreds of tourism villages in recent years but has yet to popularize the development of digital villages. Technology design and development are pivotal factors in tourism villages' digitalization. Therefore, the development digital tourism village must consider village readiness by measuring technology adoption readiness or technology acceptance of the corresponding stakeholders. This paper presents the technology acceptance analysis in the context of a digital tourism village. We use a quantitative analysis approach using the TAM-UTAUT model with data collected from a questionnaire of 101 villagers (n=101) in Pasanggrahan Village, West Java, Indonesia. This research uses machine learning with clustering procedures to analyze the level of technology adoption readiness by implementing K-means Clustering algorithm. In addition, to observe the significance of each influencing factor to the technology adoption readiness level, feature importance analysis approach using Extra tree classifier algorithm is employed. The research finds that attitude toward use, perceived ease of use, and facilitating condition-have a considerable impact on the degree of readiness for technology adoption. On the other hand, the perceived utility and social impact are found to have minimal bearing on the preparedness level for technology adoption. Perceived ease of use and facilitating conditions are the most important factors to afford the acceleration of technology adoption readiness. The research contributes to the development of a digital tourism village and the analysis of technology adoption readiness using machine learning. © 2024 IEEE.

Minimizing time wastage is a crucial objective for all production operations. Reliable manufacturing scheduling The objective is to mitigate time-based production waste caused by excessive processing, waiting, and transportation. Industry 4.0 promotes technological innovation across all industrial sectors to increase efficiency and effectiveness while preserving high competitiveness. The implementation of artificial intelligence in Industry 4.0 is expected to result in a reduction in time wastage. Non-dominance sequencing genetic algorithms (NSGA), genetic algorithms (GA), and evolutionary algorithms (EA) are the three most common scheduling approaches, according to literature-indexed research summaries from the past five years. The examination of production scheduling in the flexible packaging business, which involves the utilization of different machines and processes and is produced on demand, had not been conducted before in this study. A mathematical scheduling model will be developed in this research to ascertain the shortest production time span in the flexible packaging industry. As a form of technological innovation, this mathematical model will be utilized in experiments employing a genetic algorithm approach. For the genetic algorithm to generate a minimum makespan in the flexible packaging industry's production scheduling process. © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of data has become an inevitable consequence of the digital age as individuals across all domains increasingly rely on data for various purposes. Both companies and governments have a significant need for data. However, the sheer volume and complexity of this data, along with the potential risks associated with mishandling it, necessitate the establishment of a framework known as data governance. The primary objective of this research paper is to examine the factors that contribute to the effective implementation and utilization of Data governance. This study employs qualitative methods and adopts a systematic literature review approach to address the research inquiry: 'What are the important factors that determine the utilization of data governance technology?' Through the systematic literature review, a total of 41 key factors were identified from 20 research literatures that have been found to significantly impact the effective implementation of data governance. There are thirteen primary technological factors that hold significance in the realm of data governance. These factors encompass technology, application and use, storage of data, sharing, archiving, and preservation, big data algorithmic systems, data flow, deletion, diversity of data, mechanisms, size of data, control, and data integrity. © 2023 IEEE.

The attention mechanism is one of the key enablers which have positioned transformer models as the state-of-the-art models in Natural Language Processing. By having the attention mechanism, the first version (vanilla) transformer model can retrieve the hidden state but at the same time can maintain a low requirement on the context vector dimension by selectively choosing to which encoder hidden states to give priority attention. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of modified Long Short-term Memory models architecture on the model performance as a predictive model. The first model is modified by adding an attention mechanism to its architecture;whilst, the second model is modified by adding additional input to its architecture. The performance of both models is compared by assigning each model the same task: to address the aspect-based sentiment analysis task. The experiment results show that adding an attention mechanism is not significantly increase the performance of the Long Short-term Memory model in comparison to adding input to the same model. In particular, the average training accuracy of the former model is 0.885;whilst, the average training accuracy of the latter model is 0.942. © 2023 IEEE.

Efficiency of Multi-Language Data Serialization for Hybrid Cloud-Edge HRIS

In hybrid cloud-edge systems, data processing is distributed between cloud servers and edge servers, this makes data serialization critical for efficient data transfer between servers. This study evaluates the efficiency of multi-language data serialization of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in a hybrid cloud-edge environment. Because lack of existing studies that specifically evaluate multi-language data serialization for hybrid cloud-edge HRIS, this study conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to get the list of current state of the art of data serialization methods and then used this result to evaluate the methods. By focusing on HRIS employee data from the employee management module, this study measures both data serialization and deserialization using performance metrics of time, data size, and CPU usage. The results indicate that no methods excel in all metrics, but FlatBuffers, Protocol Buffer, and Apache Avro can provide balanced effectivity across the metrics. The study gives valuable insight for selecting data serialization methods, architecture, and systems requirements in hybrid cloud-edge HRIS to ensure the performance efficiency of the system.

The startup business model has grown rapidly in the last few years. However, giving investment or funding to a startup, especially in its early stages, is difficult because the risk is higher than a conventional company. This paper proposes a group decision support model (GDSM) that can help both government venture capital (GVC) and private venture capital (PVC) make the right funding decision. The model was built using a simple mathematics method (SMM) and multistage fuzzy logic (MFL) to examine twenty-two parameters in fuzzy and nonfuzzy values. Two experts from GVC and PVC were interviewed to weigh all the parameters. The model is implemented and tested using three real-world data. Ultimately, the model can help decision-makers in GVC and PVC to decide the most optimum funding for startups. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

Industry 4.0 will bring not only transformation to the manufacturing technologies but also to the profile of the workforce. Education system should be revised to prepare the future graduates embracing the knowledge of the ongoing revolution. Initiatives on the modification of curriculum and tools to deliver the concepts of Industry 4.0 must be taken. This paper examines limitations of current engineering tools and proposes a virtual reality (VR)-based learning platform to support the teaching and learning activity for Industry 4.0, focusing on the design of Human–robot Collaboration (HRC). The development process began with the identification of the general Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) which were extracted from the review of the HRC design issues, followed by the evaluation of the current teaching tool. From these results, the new requirements of the tools to achieve ILOs are redefined. The implementation of the system is demonstrated to show the feasibility of the proposed learning platform. This workflow can serve as initial development of another learning platform for the other innovative concepts that form the building blocks of Industry 4.0. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

To ensure the sustainability of their operations, higher education institutions have to establish a robust strategic plan. Higher education institutions have an obligation to continuously assess the quality of their educational offerings in every program to comply with the standards established by the government and other educational entities. The implementation of intelligent decision support systems is a feasible approach among other techniques for addressing the aforementioned challenges. An intelligent decision support system has the potential to enable the business to uphold its adherence to regulations, enhance operational effectiveness, and optimize overall performance. This study aimed to determine the current state of intelligent decision support systems through the implementation of a comprehensive literature review. The second goal is to evaluate the best practices, methods, and implementation of intelligent decision support systems within higher education institutions. The findings indicate that intelligent decision support systems have the capacity to serve as a viable option for higher education, particularly in terms of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of decision-making processes. Intelligent decision support systems exhibit a strong correlation with the fields of data mining and computational intelligence techniques. Nevertheless, the amount of research conducted on this subject is limited. © 2023 IEEE.

Lip-Reading with Visual Form Classification using Residual Networks and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Units

Lip-reading is a method that focuses on the observation and interpretation of lip movements to understand spoken language. Previous studies have exclusively concentrated on a single variation of residual networks (ResNets). This study primarily aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of several types of ResNets. This study additionally calculates metrics for several word structures included in the GRID dataset, encompassing verbs, colors, prepositions, letters, and numerals. This component has not been previously investigated in other studies. The proposed approach encompasses several stages, namely pre-processing, which involves face detection and mouth location, feature extraction, and classification. The architecture for feature extraction comprises a 3-dimensional convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) integrated with ResNets. The management of temporal sequences during the classification phase is accomplished through the utilization of the bidirectional gated recurrent units (Bi-GRU) model. The experimental results demonstrated a character error rate (CER) of 14.09% and a word error rate (WER) of 28.51%. The combination of 3D-CNN ResNet-34 and Bi-GRU yielded superior outcomes in comparison to ResNet-18 and ResNet-50. The correlation between increased network depth and enhanced performance in lip-reading models was not consistently observed. Nevertheless, the incorporation of additional trained parameters offers certain benefits. Moreover, it has demonstrated superior levels of precision in comparison to human professionals in the task of distinguishing diverse word structures. © Authors retain all copyrights.

Emotion recognition can help human-computer interactions by enabling systems to respond empathetically and adapt to users' emotional conditions. This capability improves user experience, supporting the development of a more intuitive and emotionally responsive communication system. This study analyzes a bimodal approach based on gender (male and female) to recognize emotions without contextual information in dialogue analysis. Utilizing the Multimodal EmoryNLP dataset extracted from the TV series Friends with acted speech, we focused on four primary emotions: Angry, Neutral, Joy, and Scared. The model used in this study for text classification is RoBERTa, and wav2vec 2.0 is used for audio feature extraction with the Bi-LSTM model for classification. The experiment results using weighted F1-score reveal that data augmentation enhanced the performance of analyzing the original dataset from 0.46% to 0.52% and the male dataset from 0.43% to 0.51 %. In comparison, the female dataset remained consistent at 0.46%. The weighted F1-score and Unweighted Averaged Recall (UAR) from the male dataset are higher, 51 % and 48%, respectively, than those from the female dataset, 46% and 47%, respectively. Gender-based analysis indicated that male and female datasets exhibited distinct performance patterns, highlighting variations in emotional expression and recognition between genders. These findings underscore the effectiveness of multimodal strategies in emotion recognition and suggest that gender-specific factors play a significant role in enhancing classification performance. While these results highlight performance trends, further validation through repeated trials and statistical analyses could provide stronger generalizations and insights into gender-based differences. © 2024 IEEE.
