Air pollution is a pressing issue in cities, and managing air quality poses a challenge for urban designers and decision-makers. This study proposes a Digital Twin (DT) Smart City integrated with Mixed Reality technology to enhance visualization and collaboration for addressing urban air pollution. The research adopts an applied research approach, with a focus on developing a DT framework. A use case of DT development for Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is presented. By integrating air quality data, meteorological information, traffic patterns, and urban infrastructure data, the DT provides a comprehensive understanding of air pollution dynamics. The visualization capabilities of the DT, utilizing Mixed Reality technology, facilitate effective decision-making and the identification of strategies for managing air quality. However, further research is needed to address data management challenges to build a DT for Smart City at scale. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Cloud computing has many benefits in various sectors. However, there are threats such as malware, data loss, and misuse of access rights, as well as risks, that occur in the cloud computing environment. This study aims to identify and further explore the types of threats, risks, and mitigation strategies in the cloud computing environment, as well as what risk mitigation components are needed to mitigate risks in the cloud computing environment. This research method uses Kitchenham because it is commonly used to conduct systematic literature reviews (SLR). Sources only refer to journals and proceedings indexed in the IEEE Explorer, scienceDirect, Springer, ACM Digital Library, Wiley Online Library, and Emerald Insight database. The results of this study identified 173 papers based on keywords, 68 papers based on titles, and abstracts, and produced 59 selected papers based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, where the type of threat produced 20 findings, the type of risk 11 findings, and risk mitigation strategies 13 findings, and produced 4 findings for risk mitigation components. Based on the findings, it can be used to mitigate risks in the cloud computing environment. © 2024 IEEE.

In the world of education, learning management systems are currently widely used. The massively open online courses are accessible either via the web or mobile. The Learning Management System (LMS) is one of the learning media that is widely used today in online learning. An LMS with the use of a personalized recommendation system can provide items tailored to the interests and behavior of its users. Items in the recommendation system can be in the form of recommendations for learning models, ways of learning, learning patterns, or learning stages according to the characteristics and profile of the user. The purpose of this study is to identify opportunities for better online learning by utilizing a customized recommendation system based on the history of user interaction with the system, using several factors as determinants or variables. The method used is a review conducted from several stages. The result of this is knowing the factors that influence the user, and the opportunities that exist in the system recommendations on personalized development. © 2023 IEEE.

Enhancing Efficiency in Yolov8n for Real-Time Detection of Oil Palm Fruits in Plantations Using Mobileone and Cross-Fusion

Accurate detection of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) ripeness in complex plantation environments is challenging due to occlusion, varying lighting, intricate visual features, and limited computational resources of mobile devices. To address this, a resource-efficient, real-time detection system was developed using an optimized YOLOv8n model. The model integrates MobileOne modules and Cross-Fusion blocks to enhance efficiency without compromising accuracy. Specifically, Conv and C2f modules were replaced with MobileOne modules, reducing parameters by 85% and 81%, respectively. Cross-Fusion improved feature fusion, and its combination with MobileOne (CF-MobileOne) achieved a 51% reduction in parameters while maintaining performance. The dataset comprised images from videos captured in plantations, annotated into five maturity stages: flower, unripe, underripe, ripe, and abnormal, and underwent augmentation with class balancing through manual undersampling. The model outperformed baseline YOLOv8 variants and heavier models like YOLOv9c and Faster R-CNN, achieving an mAP50 of 0.795 and an inference speed of 140.57 FPS. Hyperparameter tuning with a batch size of 64, SGD optimizer, and a learning rate of 0.01 yielded optimal results. Despite challenges in detecting certain classes due to visual similarities and environmental variations, the system effectively enhances productivity and efficiency in precision agriculture for the palm oil industry. © 2024, The Authors. Exploring EfficientNet Variants for Image Encoding in Auxiliary Signal Guided Knowledge Encoder-Decoder Framework

The growing number of medical images has led to radiologist burnout, which seriously impacts the radiologist's performance. To address the previously mentioned issue, an Auxiliary Signal Guided Knowledge (ASGK) multimodal encoder-decoder framework was designed to automatically generate the medical report based on the proposed medical graph and natural language decoder. It utilizes DenseNet-121 as the image encoder. With DenseNet-121 lack of computational and memory efficiency, this study aims to explore the potential of EfficientNetB0 to EfficientNetB4 as an ASGK image encoder substitute. The framework is trained with IU X-Ray dataset for 30 epochs, with Adam optimizer, a learning rate of 0.01 with 0.8 decay rate, binary cross entropy loss for the medical tags, and cross-entropy loss for the generated medical captions. During the framework training process with each image encoder, the parameter that achieves the highest CIDEr score on the validation set is considered the best image encoder parameter and will be used on the test set. On the test set, EfficientNetB3 as an ASGK image encoder has been shown to increase the CIDEr score to 0.35, a significant increase from the 0.28 CIDEr score obtained by the ASGK using DenseNet-121. This score is only a 1% decrease from the best validation score. It suggests that not only EfficientNetB3 increases the framework's performance, it is also less prone to overfitting. This study has demonstrated that EfficientNetB3 is a potential image encoder substitute for DenseNet-121 in the ASGK framework.

Electrical energy consumption is always increasing, and this causes the supply of electrical energy to be increased to compensate. One solution is to predict electricity energy consumption using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in Smart Homes. Several studies' solutions for predicting electrical energy consumption usually focused only on performance but rarely evaluated Machine Learning (ML) by correlation for feature selection and utilized interpretability model. This study uses an ML model for predicting utilization (Linear Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and XGBoost). Then, Feature Selection utilizes correlation to choose the best feature. After that, the interpretability model utilizes Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME). The results show that XGBoost has the best Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) value (0.318) with a percentage of the number of train and test data (90/10). After that, by eliminating features that correlate with 0.01, XGBoost improves with an increase of (0.018) to become (0.3). Then from LIME. This work also gets positive feature from XGBoost such as: "Furnance, Well dan Living Room". © 2023 IEEE.

A wide variety of disciplines contribute to bioinformatics research, including computer science, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics. This study determines the number of research articles published on arXiv classified as bioinformatics topics and the most frequently used bioinformatics terms using topic modeling, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA). An algorithm based on LDA is used to discover topics hidden within large collections of documents through the use of statistical analysis. Our research examined 226453 articles on arXiv between January 2023 and January 2024. As a result, there are more than 10521 articles categorized into bioinformatics topics. Most commonly, 6352 documents are in the "Mathematical Physics" category. The second most popular category is "computer science," with 2950 documents. Accordingly, the terms 'RNA,' 'sequence,' 'tree,' and 'homology' are the three most commonly used terms in bioinformatics. The study of RNA plays a vital role in molecular biology; thus, the study of RNA is prevalent in bioinformatics. Sequential data refer to the order in which nucleotides or amino acids can be found in a DNA molecule or a protein.

Deep neural networks and weighted word embeddings for sentiment analysis of drug product reviews

One of the major tasks of natural language processing is sentiment analysis. The web is a source of unstructured and rich informa-tion with thousands of opinions and reviews. Individuals, businesses, and governments can all benefit from recognizing sentiment. As part of this study, we propose a deep learning-based approach for sentiment analysis on drug product review data obtained from the UCI machine learning repository. As an alternative to deep learning models, this architecture integrates glove word embedding with convolutional neural networks (CNN). Word2vec and GloVe word embedding schemes have been evaluated empirically for their predictive performance in CNN architectures. Based on a comparison of the deep learning architecture with RoBERTa, itcan be seen that BERT architecture outperforms both of them in training and validation. However, CNN models using Glove word embedding provided superior results in testing.

The rapid expansion of e-wallet services in Indonesia has significantly heightened the need for efficient customer service solutions, making chatbots an essential tool for user support. However, many providers continue to rely on rule-based chatbots, resulting in rigid interactions that struggle to meet diverse user needs or handle the linguistic complexities of the Indonesian language. This study addresses these limitations by developing an AI-powered intent classification model specifically tailored for Indonesian e-wallet customer service, aimed at delivering a more accurate, adaptive, and user-centered experience. A custom dataset was created from user comments on social media associated with Indonesia's top e-wallet providers, followed by data pre-processing and clustering using the BERTopic model. To improve interpretability, OpenAI's GPT-4 was employed for label refinement, resulting in enhanced clarity. Various models were tested, including IndoBERT, RoBERTa, and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures in both 2D and 3D configurations. The highest-performing model combined IndoBERT embeddings with a 3D CNN classifier, achieving an accuracy of 84.30%, precision of 84.33%, recall of 84.30%, and an F1-score of 84.24%. This study contributes a unique Indonesian-specific dataset and demonstrates the potential of AI to transform customer service interactions in Indonesia's e-wallet sector, offering a clear advancement over traditional rule-based approaches.

Semi-automated meningioma segmentation with bounding boxes

Segmentation is manually performed by physicians, which takes considerable time and may be subject to observers. Automating this task can increase efficiency and consistency. Existing studies on meningioma segmentation used data from limited study centers, indicating the need for research on multi-center data to assess generalizability. In this work, two semi-automated methods with bounding box priors, LiteMedSAM and BBU-Net, are evaluated on the brain tumor segmentation (BraTS) 2023 meningioma dataset collected from five study-centers. Preprocessing included exclusion of small tumors, z-score normalization, and extraction of slices that contain tumors, generating 25,602 2D axial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. A fine-tuning strategy is adopted for LiteMedSAM while BBU-Net is trained from scratch. The models are evaluated using a five-fold cross-validation, with data split at the case level. Results show that while U-Net models can achieve performance close to LiteMedSAM, the foundation model has overall better performance, with more than 90% in all evaluation scores.
