Sequential data are available in many domains including weather observation data, stock price, gene sequence, and many others. Sequential data processing is very instrumental as a solution to a variety of downstream tasks in Natural Language Processing such as language translation. Translating a language to another language has become instrumental when peoples interact with other people who speak a different language. However, language translation is not an easy computation task when there is a language-resource gap. This paper presents some empirical results from the exploration of the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), the Long Short-term Memory (LSTM), and the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory (Bi-LSTM) models as machine translation models from Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. These empirical results show that the Bi-LSTM achieved the highest performance (0.95 average training accuracy and 0.92 average testings BLEU score) compared to the RNN (0.93 average training accuracy and 0.91 average testings BLEU score), the GRU (0.88 average training accuracy and 0.89 average testings BLEU score), and the LSTM (0.92 average training accuracy and 0.91 average testings BLEU score) models. These results validate some previously reported studies that claim the Bi-LSTM model potentially outperforms the other recurrent neural network-based models when it is used to process sequence datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

The concept of object-oriented (OO) serves is a fundamental approach in the development of models. The stages associated with this method contribute significantly to ensuring that the resulting model is both lucid and transparent. The primary objective of the study is to create a decision model for evaluating student performance. Floating fuzzy logic (FFL) is employed as a technique to handle fluctuating data within the model. Moreover, OO conception plays a central role in analyzing, designing, and constructing the model through the utilization of four distinct types of Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams: object, activity, state-machine, and sequence diagrams. The model itself is crafted using the Python programming language and executed in the Google Colab platform. Additionally, this model has the capability to simulate changes in students' performance on a semester-by -semester basis, exhibiting a variance of 15 % when compared to the conventional fuzzy logic model.

This research shows that social learning can be used to increase an organization's cybersecurity maturity level. Using a literature study and case study approach. Literature studies are used to identify social learning's key success factors (KSF) and challenges in general. Then, the case study was performed in the context of assessing the maturity level of information security using the NIST Cybersecurity framework at ABC Software House, a small-scale software development company in Indonesia. Assessment activities are performed through FGDs which then also identify the most relevant social learning' KSF to increase the organization's information security maturity level. Next, referring to the selected KSF, a process of identifying and mapping social learning' challenges was carried out. The integration of social learning can help organizations gain better focus and understanding in nontechnical contexts to increase their maturity level. This research highlights that integrating social learning with the NIST cybersecurity framework can provide organizations with better focus and perspective for formulating non-technical solutions. This study also enriches the existing literature on social learning in cybersecurity and offers practical insights for organizations looking to improve their cybersecurity resilience. © 2024 IEEE.

The increasing data volume given by the exponential growth of digital devices, cloud platforms, and the Internet of Things (IOT) had become an attractive target for attackers. This makes the search for innovative defense mechanisms intensified leading to a renewed focus on the utilization of honeypots to improve data security. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) examines the usage and contributions of honeypots in data security field across diverse sectors and environments. Analyzing 38 selected articles from 2018 to 2023, the study highlights the growing adoption of honeypots as tools for detecting and preventing data breaches, exfiltration, and other security incidents. Our finding found that honeypots, with their deceptive capabilities, have proven could be deployed in sectors like healthcare, cloud computing, and industrial control systems and effective in detection and prevention data breaches, exfiltration, and other data breaches, making them as a crucial tool in the data security protection. The future of honeypots lies in their integration with machine learning and AI, to predict and counteract sophisticated. Moreover, evolving honeypots into tools for deterrence and corrective action opens new avenues for cybersecurity strategies. Their ability to act as deterrents by increasing perceived risks for attackers, coupled with their role in aiding recovery from data breaches through detailed forensic analysis, positions honeypots as a cornerstone in the development of resilient data security frameworks. This study paves the way for a more adaptive, proactive, and comprehensive approach to data security, highlighting the indispensable role of honeypots in the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity. © 2023 IEEE.

Agriculture has long been recognized as pivotal to economic development, offering avenues to alleviate poverty, foster prosperity, and sustainably meet the food demands of a burgeoning global population projected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050. However, persistent inefficiencies within agricultural supply chains, particularly in sectors like rice production, pose formidable challenges. Addressing these inefficiencies is imperative to avert a surge in hunger and malnutrition. Failure to do so could condemn 815 million people to hunger and leave 3 out of 10 individuals malnourished. Thus, investigating solutions to enhance the resilience of rice supply chains is paramount. This research endeavors to identify and analyze challenges inherent in tracing the rice supply chain, offering a conceptual model proposal as a potential remedy. Employing a methodology centered on scholarly discourse and extensive literature review, our study reveals various impediments facing rice commodity supply chains in Indonesia. Furthermore, this study leverages blockchain technology, specifically the Sawtooth Hyperledger platform, to streamline the tracing process for rice commodities and rationalize the supply chain by reducing intermediary actors. From the proposed model, there is great hope that it can provide implications for the rice supply chain to run more efficiently.

In the field of bioinformatics, the protein Post-Translational Modification (PTM) site prediction has been widely studied and Web Information Systems (WIS) has been deployed by researchers for this task. Through a literature review and benchmarking process, we identified the requirements which included quick predictions, efficient memory usage, and input validations. However, no detailed designs have been proposed so far, which may have contributed to some requirements not being implemented in some of the websites. Therefore, we propose a detailed WIS conceptual design, which can be used for predicting the sites of multiple PTM types, equipped with a validation algorithm and compared the usage of various string searching algorithms as well as file storage formats. Experiment results showed that the linear search algorithm is the fastest for this task and storing the protein data in npz format when performing multi-PTMs site prediction can assist in reducing memory usage. The proposed design can be implemented into user-friendly web tools that are both efficient in speed and memory usage in future studies. © 2022 IEEE.

The transformer model has become a state-of-the-art model in Natural Language Processing. The initial transformer model, known as the vanilla transformer model, is designed to improve some prominent models in sequence modeling and transduction problems such as language modeling and machine translation. The initial transformer model has 6 stacks of identical encoder-decoder layers with an attention mechanism whose aim is to push limitations of common recurrent language models and encoder-decoder architectures. Its outstanding performance has inspired many researchers to extend the architecture to improve its performance and computation efficiency. Despite many extensions to the vanilla transformer, there is no clear explanation of the encoder-decoder set out depth in the vanilla transformer model. This paper presents exploration results on the effect of combination encoder-decoder layer depth and activation function in the feed-forward layer of the vanilla transformer model on its performance. The model is tested to address a downstream task: text translation from Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. Although the value difference is not significantly large, the empirical results show that the combination of depth = 2 with Sigmoid, Tanh, and ReLU activation function;and d = 6 with ReLU activation shows the highest average training accuracy. Interestingly, d = 6 and ReLU show the lowest average training and validation loss. However, statistically, there is no significant difference between depth and activation functions. © 2023 IEEE.

Translating a language to another language has become instrumental when peoples interact with other people who speak a different language. However, the language translation is not an easy computation task when there is a language-resource gap. This paper presents empirical results on the performance of two models: the Long Short-term Memory and the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory models as machine language translation models involving Bahasa Indonesia and the Sundanese language. The empiric results showed that the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model achieves higher performance as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.95 and 0.95 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.90 and 0.89 average testing BLEU scores respectively) than the Long Short-term Memory model as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.93 and 0.92 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.91 and 0.88 average testing BLEU scores). These results validate some previously reported studies that claim the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model potentially outperform the Long Short-term Memory model when it is used to process a sequence dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Disease attacks have the potential to decrease apple productivity, particularly in Poncokusumo Village, Malang Regency. The manual process of disease identification requires a significant amount of time and specialized knowledge, which results in inefficiency and frequently blocks early treatment. The objective of this research is to create a precise deep learning model for the detection of diseases in apples in order to ensure that it functions effectively in situations that are real. To accomplish this objective, directly collected disease image data on fruits from apple fields in Poncokusumo Village. The EfficientNet model implements the CBAM attention mechanism. The EfficientNet B0 version was employed as the basis for the model for this work, with CBAM being implemented to improve feature extraction and identify infection spots within the image. Based on the research findings, the EfficientNet-CBAM model has an F1 score of 92% and an accuracy of 93.67%. The attention mechanism of the model is effective in identifying infected areas, enabling both quicker and more precise detection. This method has the potential to enhance the precision and efficacy of disease identification, as well as offer producers advantages by applying preventive measures earlier.

Automatic question generation for bahasa indonesia examination using copynet

In educational institutions, an educator is responsible for assessing the student's knowledge grasp through examination. Creating exam questions, even the low-level factoid questions, is time-consuming, especially for inexperienced educators. Therefore, this study aims to create a sequence-to-sequence model using CopyNet by exploiting its copying mechanism advantage to automatically generate Bahasa Indonesia factoid questions to ease the educator's burden. Indonesian records in the TyDi QA dataset are used as the model input. GRU and Bi-GRU are employed as the CopyNet encoder, while LSTM is used as the CopyNet decoder. The model that utilizes GRU as the encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.28, 0.19, 0.14, 0.1, and 0.32, respectively. Bi-GRU utilization as the model encoder achieves BLEU1, BLEU2, BLEU3, BLEU4, and ROUGE-L scores of 0.26, 0.17, 0.12, 0.09, and 0.30, respectively. Models using either encoder still achieve low scores. However, compared with the previous work, the result is still on par regarding the BLEU score. Further examination found that the generated questions do not adhere to semantic and syntactical correctness. Adding more records to the dataset and utilizing a more advanced architecture like CopyBERT are encouraged to improve the model performance in future work. Despite the result, this study has shown that CopyNet, primarily designed for text summarization or single-turn dialogue, can be tailored for factoid question generation.
