Attendance, presence, or attendance recording is very important for every lecture, office or other organizational activities. Currently, recording student attendance activities at Mercu Buana University is by calling one by one the students by the lecturer, then the lecturer signs attendance on the special application form for lecturers that have been provided. For this reason, it is necessary to design a database to create the database. The analysis used is SWOT to compare between Gaudy Booch and Ivan Jacobson methods. This comparison is used to find out which method is appropriate in implementing a better database. Based on the database design that is made to further facilitate archiving of attendance, increase data efficiency. From the results of the research with class diagram description objects, the class diagram and database model that we use is from Ivar Jacobson, because it shows how actors from class diagrams point to Object-Oriented Software Engineering that has advantages that are easy to learn and have notation simpler. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Gamification nowadays is being one of techniques that can increase motivation and encourage the involvement of users, particularly in education domain that requires teaching and learning activities to be more fun and interesting. This paper surveys some analysis of gamification models. MDA framework is used to identify surveyed papers by breaking them down into three categories: mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics. Findings from the survey show there are many gamification models in education domain. However, there are some very representative gamification models could be used as a method to increase motivation, achievement and engagement in learning activities. By knowing the latest gamification models in education domain stated in this paper, it could help gamification practitioners to make new strategies in learning activities to increase students' motivation, achievement and involvement. We also suggest some gamification strategies, which combine several mechanics in such a way to create dynamics that results in all types of aesthetics outputs. © 2018 The Authors. Saint-Venant Model Analysis of Trapezoidal Open Channel Water Flow using Finite Difference Method

This study aims to compare the flow characteristics in rectangular and trapezoidal open channel by investigating the effects of Manning coefficient, channel bottom slope, channel width, and channel side slope which represented by modified Saint-Venant equation according to the channel cross section, which are rectangular and trapezoidal, and the slope of channel friction using the Manning coefficient. The equation is solved numerically by using finite difference methods with Forward Time Backward Space approach. The model is simulated by using python-based desktop application to show the flow characteristics. Computational results are displayed in the form of summaries, tables, two-dimensional graphics, and three-dimensional graphics. Validation is done by comparing computational results data with data from the other studies that have been done before and concluded that the simulation results have been valid and indicate compliance with the prior studies. The simulation results show that trapezoidal channel is better at minimizing the risk of flooding than rectangular channel in consideration of smaller discharge, smaller velocity, and lower water level.

The Brimob Corps is a special police force, just like the special military detachments held by the TNI such as Paskhas and so on. At present brigade corps police national is busy being discussed in the real world and cyberspace, especially on social media twitter. Many opinions about the brigade corps police national so there are positive and negative opinions. Social media twitter is now one places to spread information about brigade corps police national. This study cases uses text mining techniques with support vector machine (SVM) method which aims to classify public sentiments towards brigade corps police national on twitter. The dataset used is tweet in Indonesian with keyword "Brimob" with a total dataset of 1000 tweets. Text mining, transform, tokenize, stemming, and classification, etc. techniques are useful for building classification and analysis of sentiment. RapidMiner and Gataframework are also used to help create sentiment analysis to measure classification values. Accuracy values obtained with support vector machine (SVM) approach 86,96%, with precision values of 86,96%, and recall values of 86,96%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

KEHATI AQUA Park is one of the green areas managed by PT. Tirta Investama Klaten (Klaten Factory). This area is located in Wangen and Ponggok Villages, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency, Central Java, and is an integral part of the company’s seriousness in carbon reduction movement. When maintenance of the area is important for the sustainability of the park, there is however no data on the trees inventory in the area. Therefore, this study aims to invent the trees at KEHATI AQUA Park and evaluate the potential of the area to become a carbon sink using *** application. This study was conducted at the KEHATI AQUA Park. The census method was performed to collect tree data, and the result was recorded in *** application. The carbon stock calculation was estimated using the application according to the tree data submitted in the application. The study included a total of 1048 plantation spots in 51 tree species. From those numbers, about 738 trees existed, and the remaining spots were blank spaces. Based on the condition of the trees, those were 660 good trees, 17 dry trees, and 61 under pest infection. The carbon stock estimation at KEHATI AQUA Park Klaten in the next five years (2026) is around 40 tons of carbon. Therefore, it can be concluded that the park is valuable as an area to preserve biodiversity and as a carbon sink.

One of the issues of current attendance system is not being able to record employees who working outside the office. This work discussed a solution designed to solve common operational project problems, especially in attendance and tasklist management activity in companies who has employee working outside of the office. Considering the number of employees who have to visit various places, conventional attendance system is no longer feasible as be the solution. Similar problem occured in tasklist management, with so many employees to manage in different places will make it difficult for Project Manager to assign task and monitor the progress. Based on the problems, solusion was then designed using SDLC Waterfall using the field research data. This research conclude that by using the proposed application, complexity can be reduced and effectiveness can be improved in performing day-to-day operational task and make sure that they can be monitored. Moreover, the number of employee who responsible to make reports of projects and attendance can be reduced about 50%.

In Vocational Education, learning by doing is very important to complement the concept of learning with technical introduction to maximize the results of the material received. However, in various subject areas, learning is still carried out conventionally and students are unable to apply their knowledge practically even though they have theoretical understanding. This is closely related to the lack of motivation from students in the classroom because there is no interactive course content required for visualization of concepts in each subject area. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and learning activities had to be carried out online at their respective homes. So that further limits the scope of student practice to maximize learning outcomes. As a result, it is not possible for students to understand more in-depth concepts of subject matter using conventional learning methods. Students' motivation to learn will increase if students are provided with practical tools so that they can be visually involved and engage with what they teach in class. The development of practical tools with Virtual Reality technology, which can visualize 3D models can be a solution to meet this goal. The main objective of this paper is to create and use Virtual Reality as an immersive learning medium and its contribution to student motivation to understand the definition of subject matter in various fields.

Mass gathering has been identified as one of the causes of fast-spreading of COVID-19. Physical distancing practices and large gathering control in Malaysia and all over the world are likely to be continued until the end of the year, even after Movement Control Order (MCO) has been lifted. This has imposed event organizers to redesign their events into virtual events where attendees are to stay at their houses and meet with the host and other attendees virtually. However, certain types of educational events or activities such as practical and hands-on classes are not to be virtually conducted as it by nature carries a competency for the students. This paper evaluates the standard classroom layout by comparing with optimal layout based on circle packing problem (CPP) solution. CPP solution is used to optimize the physical distancing-constrained for the student seat layout as in it happens in real life. The findings can provide an effective exit strategy for Malaysia to deal with this COVID-19 pandemic or other pandemics in the future.

Climate anomalies are considered as an important factor closely related to many disasters causing many human losses, such as airline crash, wildfires, drought and flooding in many areas. Many researchers have projected that the rising global temperature will increase the draught, especially in the mid-latitude areas. Taking those problems into account, studies on anomaly detection in climate are crucial. While climate prediction aims to analyze and model regular pattern of climate, climate anomaly studies aim to model climate deviation from its previous general patterns. Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) is a method employed in this research because it has been proven to work effectively in several anomaly detection studies, especially for data with similar characteristics. This paper presents empirical results of using Basic LSTM, Densely Connected (DC) LSTM, and Stacked-DC LSTM models to detect temperature anomaly as a manifestation of climate change in Semarang City. The results show that Stacked DC LSTM produced higher accuracy in detecting anomaly than the other two methods. © 2020 computer Society of the Republic of China. All rights reserved.

Websocket to Support Real Time Smart Home Applications

As we already know, the IoT (Internet of Thing) system has developed and is used in many fields, such as agriculture, security, industry etc. The IoT system requires real time monitoring and this is one of the problems that exists today. Transfering data from the sensor via the internet network to a monitoring device must be less than 300 ms. One process that can cause non-fulfillment of these requirements is a method for displaying the data on a monitor. There are several methods for delivering data from the sensor to a monitor. This paper has been compared between two methods, namely the polling method and the websocket method. The experiment was conducted to compare these two method. The result obtained that the websocket method was better in presenting real time data compared to the polling method. It can be shown in bandwidth usage and memory usage. In the experiment was found that the average of bandwidth usage is 478KB for polling method, and 91KB for web socket method in web based and the memory consumption of websocket less as much as 16% compared to polling method. In android smartphone the average bandwidth usage is 5.1 KB for web socket method and 15 KB for polling method and the memory consumption of websocket less as much as 22% compared to polling method.
