Batik is an Indonesian world cultural heritage. Batik consists of many kinds of patterns depending on where the batik comes from, Batik-making techniques continue to develop along with technology development. Among the batik making techniques that are widely used are hand-written, stamping, and printing. Batik motifs have been widely used as research material, especially in the field of artificial intelligence. The diverse appearance of batik motifs has attracted many researchers to carry out research on making synthetic batik patterns, one of which uses a Generative Adversarial Network. This paper presents a synthetic batik pattern model based on the Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Network with Gradient Penalty. This model has been proven to create new synthetic batik patterns quite well and almost identical with images provided in the dataset, with the notes if the dataset provided is large. © 2023 IEEE.

The university admission process can be overwhelming for applicants and admission officers, with many questions being asked and answered every year. The manual classification of these questions can be time-consuming and may lead to errors, making exploring automated solutions to this problem essential. In recent years, advances in natural language processing (NLP), including question classification. The research proposes an architecture for a question classification system using the Indonesian Language in closed-domain question answering. The purpose of this research is to find out the classification of questions. We created a system with the Named-Entity Recognition method to recognize the next word that will be used as a candidate type of question and candidate answer. The type of question used is a factoid question. Research makes patterns and rules for extracting important words as features to determine the taxonomy of question classification. Datasets are collected from one private university in Indonesia. Data sources from binus Online Learning websites and data on questions frequently asked by users, especially prospective students. The results of the question classification are presented using descriptive statistics. The results show that the question classification with users' most frequent question type is 'What' by 63.3%, and the answer category is 'tuition fees' by 22.4%. It can be concluded that the most frequent question type asked by users is 'What', and the most frequent topic of interest is 'tuition fees'. Organizations can use this information to improve customer service by providing more relevant information and resources about tuition fees. © 2023 IEEE.

Breast cancer is an occurrence of cancer that attacks breast tissue and is the most common cancer among women worldwide, affecting one in eight women. In this modern world, breast cancer image classification simplifies the process of analyzing, providing objective and accurate results. By leveraging machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques, we developed breast cancer detection. The dataset is histopathology dataset from BreakHis and UNHAS Hospital. We chose the ConvNeXt-Tiny model then modified the classifier head as the proposed method. Before the dataset is processed by the model, we augment the images by applying random horizontal and vertical flips, adjustments to brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue using color jitter. The augmentation process simulates real-world variance and enhances the model's ability to generalize to unseen data. Our proposed model gained better performance (accuracy, F1-Score) results compared two other techniques to VGG16 and SVM. According to our experiments, the F1-Score for the ConvNeXt-Tiny model with classifier head modification is higher at 0.9516, than the gain for VGG16 at 0.9292, and the gain for the SVM at 0.83. © 2024 IEEE.

The use of technology nowadays does not feel strange. Everyday people who use technology for their daily needs, starting with each other, seeking knowledge, can even earn income by doing business using technology. Social media is a tool that can be used by people to become with each other by creating, sharing, and exchanging information virtually through a network. However, in the current era, the notion of social media is not only about exchanging information, but also to support business products. The problem is how to compete tightly in this modern era in increasing the selling value of business products. The positive impact of social media for sales in business products are huge such as, increase sales, increase product promotion, greater market distribution. On the other side, the negative impact also takes part such as, the more competitors, the products compete fiercely in the market. This research aims to identify more the impact of social media on sales of business products that focused on business, benefit, and factor. The research method that we used is quantitative which focuses on the number of samples of respondents to support the research results and the results are in the form of a graphic that shows the answers of the respondents to the questionnaire. © 2023 IEEE.

Translating a language to another language has become instrumental when peoples interact with other people who speak a different language. However, the language translation is not an easy computation task when there is a language-resource gap. This paper presents empirical results on the performance of two models: the Long Short-term Memory and the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory models as machine language translation models involving Bahasa Indonesia and the Sundanese language. The empiric results showed that the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model achieves higher performance as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.95 and 0.95 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.90 and 0.89 average testing BLEU scores respectively) than the Long Short-term Memory model as a language translator from the Sundanese language to Bahasa Indonesia and vice versa (0.93 and 0.92 average training accuracy respectively;and 0.91 and 0.88 average testing BLEU scores). These results validate some previously reported studies that claim the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory model potentially outperform the Long Short-term Memory model when it is used to process a sequence dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

Smart villages that utilize digital technology are a solution to assist rural community services in meeting their needs, especially for developing countries. However, financial problems, namely the high cost of infrastructure, the size of the informal economy and governance are challenges in limiting the government's aspirations regarding the smart village concept. The presentation of this article examines the state of smart village development in developing countries, which includes conceptual understanding, motivations, drivers and barriers to smart villages. The purpose of this study is to find answers to research questions by reviewing several selected study articles. The method used was to search for selected studies and there were 60 selected studies identified from a search of five literature databases which initially contained 3394 articles. The results of the data were analyzed using synthetic analysis and thematic analysis. The results of this study found data related to Concept, Technology, Barriers To Smart Village which came from several articles by answering questions from the research, namely RQ1: How many articles from the 10 most populous countries discussed Smart Village, RQ2: What are the basic dimensions of Smart Village, RQ3: What new technologies are discussed in Smart Village digitization, RQ4: What are the Challenges in Smart Village. The results of this SLR can also later be used as a reference for further researchers to find out the background of research related to smart villages. Sequential data are available in many domains including weather observation data, stock price, gene sequence, and many others. Sequential data processing is very instrumental as a solution to a variety of downstream tasks in Natural Language Processing such as language translation. Translating a language to another language has become instrumental when peoples interact with other people who speak a different language. However, language translation is not an easy computation task when there is a language-resource gap. This paper presents some empirical results from the exploration of the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), the Long Short-term Memory (LSTM), and the Bidirectional Long Short-term Memory (Bi-LSTM) models as machine translation models from Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. These empirical results show that the Bi-LSTM achieved the highest performance (0.95 average training accuracy and 0.92 average testings BLEU score) compared to the RNN (0.93 average training accuracy and 0.91 average testings BLEU score), the GRU (0.88 average training accuracy and 0.89 average testings BLEU score), and the LSTM (0.92 average training accuracy and 0.91 average testings BLEU score) models. These results validate some previously reported studies that claim the Bi-LSTM model potentially outperforms the other recurrent neural network-based models when it is used to process sequence datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

Algorithm development on skin diseases identification with high cardinality classification is still very challenging. In addition, the high similarity appearance among diseases makes the computer vision approach meet high difficulties on providing clear distinct feature representation. In general, some literature shows that the performance of single machine learning or single deep learning techniques can be further improved when merged by ensemble mechanism. This approach has been applied on binary skin's cancer diseases diagnosis prediction and successfully improve the prediction ability. This paper elaborates the potential of ensemble machine learning approaches using stacking techniques on conducting feature extraction and classification model for identifying more general skin diseases based on dermoscopy images and mobile phone images. The proposed model combines three different CNN architectures, ResNet50, Xception, and VGG16 to extract features from the image then stacked as input for the model trained using five different algorithms, which are logistic regression, support vector machines, multi-layer perceptron, k-nearest neighbors, random forests and the combination of these algorithm in stacking classifier as the base estimators and final estimator. The simulation results present the proposed ensemble - stacking model succeeds to improve the identification ability in all utilized datasets. In addition, the proposed ensemble - stacking models show better recall which indicates good sensitivity on handling false negative. It is beneficial for medical application. © 2024 IEEE.

Depression is a disease that affects everyone, both young and old. This mental illness not only affects the surrounding environment but everyone. Depression is characterized by deep sadness, behavioral changes and many other actions that are risky for people. In this research we try to solve the problem of detecting depression using Natural Language Processing (NLP) approaches, these two methods are Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and Robustly Optimized BERT Approach (RoBERTa), where these two methods are used to detect posts made in reddit. The dataset is taken from Kaggle. The results obtained found that the average use of BERT and RoBERTa resulted in a high accuracy value of around 98% and with a well balanced precision, recall and F1-Score ratio. This research shows that there is a possibility of using BERT and RoBERTa in depression detection. © 2024 The Authors.

In this research, the author addresses the prevalent issues faced by users of cloud services, especially those using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology, such as connection losses, security concerns, and poor video quality. The study does not delve into the complex problems at the data center level but instead proposes a novel Design science Research approach. This new method, tested with five clients in varied locations, utilizes port forwarding to establish a direct server-client connection, bypassing traditional P2P frameworks. The results show that this approach significantly improves quality over the P2P system. Feedback from clients before and after the experiment indicates a positive response to this new method. This research offers insights into overcoming P2P-related issues in cloud services and contributes to the development of cloud-based server science, presenting a cost-effective, independent alternative to data center-dependent P2P services, with plans for ongoing research in this area. © 2023 IEEE.
