Airline reviews processing: Abstractive summarization and rating-based sentiment classification using deep transfer learning

Opinion summarization and sentiment classification are key processes for understanding, analyzing, and leveraging information from customer opinions. The rapid and ceaseless increase in big data of reviews on e-commerce platforms, social media, or review portals becomes a stimulus for the automation of these processes. In recent years, deep transfer learning has opted to solve many challenging tasks in Natural Language Processing (NLP) relieving the hassles of exhaustive training and the requirement of extensive labelled datasets. In this work, we propose frameworks for Abstractive Summarization (ABS) and Sentiment Analysis (SA) of airline reviews using Pretrained Language Models (PLM). The abstractive summarization model goes through two finetuning stages, the first one, for domain adaptation and the second one, for final task learning. Several studies in the literature empirically demonstrate that review rating has a positive correlation with sentiment valence. For the sentiment classification framework, we used the rating value as a signal to determine the review sentiment, and the model is built on top of BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) architecture. We evaluated our models comprehensively with multiple metrics. Our results indicate competitive performance of the models in terms of most of the evaluation metrics. © 2024 The Author(s)

The infection of Plasmodium vivax is relatively less virulent than the deathliest Plasmodium falciparum. However, it still can lead to a fatal case and often induces recurring malaria due to dormant parasites in the liver. Thus, the research to study the drug to treat Plasmodium vivax is essential, where the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has recently become a new drug target. However, the drug-enzyme interaction study has only recently been conducted in Plasmodium falciparum (pfDHODH) due to the lack of the 3D structure of enzyme DHODH from Plasmodium vivax that is crucial for the study. Therefore, this study aimed to perform the modelling study of Plasmodium vivax DHODH (PvDHODH) to create a 3D structure as a basis for drug-protein interaction study in upcoming studies. Sequence pvDHODH (Accession: SCO68359.1) was used in homology modelling using Modeller 10.2 with the crystal structure of DHODH from DHODH (Accession: 7KZY) as a template. Overall, the model generated from the homology modelling was considered a good model, and the 3D structure was close to the native state according to several parameters, including DOPE score, GA341 score, QMEAN4 value, 3D-1D score, ERRAT2 score, and ProSA score. Ramachandran plot also revealed that almost all amino acids were distributed in the desirable and allowed area (99.1%), and only 0.9% were in generously allowed regions. Superimposition of the model with the template also indicated that the model has an almost similar structure and amino acids positioning, including in the binding pocket and active site. Therefore, the model can be used for downstream analysis in drug-protein interaction studies. Nevertheless, some improvements can still be performed to upgrade the quality of the model by deleting unaligned residues on the C-terminal and realigning the residues at the doubting site. © 2023 IEEE.

Recently, the research on daily health monitoring using a wearable sensor has been continually evolving. In the future, when this system is actually implemented, a vast amount of data transmission will be conducted from multiple sensors to the cloud server. A system capable of transmitting, storing, processing, and visualizing massive volumes of data is necessary for health monitoring. This research aims to develop a health monitoring system that can accommodate a high amount of data with high performance. The proposed techniques include numerous modifications to system architecture and technology. In the system architecture, a multi-database is proposed to enhance the reliability of the system. As an enhancement to the technology aspect, a time series database and MQTT server are proposed. As the result, the proposed system achieves significantly better performance in terms of throughput, database-writing speed, and database-reading speed compared to the existing system. © 2022 IEEE.

The escalating visibility of secure direct object reference (IDOR) vulnerabilities in API security, as indicated in the compilation of OWASP Top 10 API Security Risks, highlights a noteworthy peril to sensitive data. This study explores IDOR vulnerabilities found within Android APIs, intending to clarify their inception while evaluating their implications for application security. This study combined the qualitative and quantitative approaches. Insights were obtained from an actual penetration test on an Android app into the primary reasons for IDOR vulnerabilities, underscoring insufficient input validation and weak authorization methods. We stress the frequent occurrence of IDOR vulnerabilities in the OWASP Top 10 API vulnerability list, highlighting the necessity to prioritize them in security evaluations. There are mitigation recommendations available for developers, which recognize its limitations involving a possibly small and homogeneous selection of tested Android applications, the testing environment that could cause some inaccuracies, and the impact of time constraints. Additionally, the study noted insufficient threat modeling and root cause analysis, affecting its generalizability and real-world relevance. However, comprehending and controlling IDOR dangers can enhance Android API security, protect user data, and bolster application resilience.

Technological developments have resulted in a trend of cryptocurrencies that use a technology called blockchain to create and record all transactions made into a digital ledger. Along with the emergence of the trend of cryptocurrencies, this development has also resulted in crimes that hit the digital world, such as data leakage and cyber espionage. This threat can be prevented by applying blockchain technology to the database that has been used. Therefore, we need a system that can facilitate the use of blockchain technology and can process data from an existing relational database into a blockchain-based database. The system developed in this study was built with the FastAPI framework that uses the Python programming language and the React framework that uses the Javascript programming language. This system was tested using Katalon and Wireshark software to perform throughput testing and man-in-The-middle attacks. Evaluation of this system is assessed based on the average throughput time and also the results of Wireshark packet capture. The system designed in this research is expected to help overcome interoperability problems when using blockchain and improve relational database integrity. The results of the test show that the system is safe from man-in-The-middle attacks while sending data through API and has a faster throughput time than BigchainDB system by 4.151 seconds. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. Currently the development of information technology is so fast, the use of information technology is absolutely necessary to support business processes and increase the productivity of the company. Likewise with PT. Indonesia Power where the company's business development is currently technology-based. This causes the number of software and laptops to increase so that the recording and management of software, licenses and devices are still not going well because currently recording software licenses still use document files. This is felt to be less effective because tracing a license takes longer and licenses that have expired are still installed on employee laptops because of not being properly monitored. In addition to poor record keeping, several users use software that is not officially licensed within PT. Indonesia Power so that it can harm the company. Therefore, a Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard is needed using the Prototype method which provides monitoring information related to IT software asset inventory with the aim that the monitoring process can be carried out more effectively and efficiently. It is hoped that this research will produce a BI dashboard to assist the IT sector in monitoring IT software asset inventory.

Detecting COVID-19 as early as possible and quickly is one way to stop the spread of COVID-19. Machine learning development can help to diagnose COVID-19 more quickly and accurately. This report aims to find out how far research has progressed and what lessons can be learned for future research in this sector. By filtering titles, abstracts, and content in the Google Scholar database, this literature review was able to find 19 related papers to answer two research questions, i.e. what medical images are commonly used for COVID-19 classification and what are the methods for COVID-19 classification. According to the findings, chest X-ray were the most commonly used data to categorize COVID-19 and transfer learning techniques were the method used in this study. Researchers also concluded that lung segmentation and use of multimodal data could improve performance.

Accurately predicting an owl species based on its sound can be helpful for owl conservation. To build an accurate model for owl sound classification, deep learning is currently the most preferred algorithm, due to its excellent performance for modeling audio data. However, deep learning is generally underperformed for a small dataset, which is the case for recognizing scops owl sound. To overcome the issue, we proposed a transfer learning strategy, which is common for computer vision tasks, that can alleviate overfitting in a deep learning model for the owl sound classification. In our approach, we propose a neural network architecture consisting of the backbone of a EfficientNet model pre-trained on the massive ImageNet database. The model takes the sound input that has been converted as two image representations: Spectrogram and Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients. Our strategy enables the use of a relatively small size of pre-trained image classification model, which is widely available, for transfer learning in owl sound classification. Deploying the lightweight model in an automatic sound classifier provides a fast and accurate tool for various owl conservation purposes.

Gastrointestinal diseases are significant health concerns that mostly affect the digestive and biliary tracts. These can only be observed internally through endoscopy, or a modern approach named Wireless Capsule Endoscopy. Though the approach has proven to work, the process relies heavily on medical experts, which is prone to error when given a considerably large load. The use of deep learning in detecting diseases with images has been proven to work in various cases and can be implemented for gastrointestinal diseases. This study compared four deep learning models based on Convolutional Neural Network architectures consisting of the VGG16, ResNet152V2, InceptionV3, and Xception for classifying colon disease images. The experiment showed that the ResNet152V2 performed the best, compared to the other three with a testing accuracy score of 0.9837. On the other hand, the VGG16 had the lowest performance with around accuracy score of 0.89 while the Xception and InceptionV3models yielded similar accuracy scores of 0.9587 and 0.9549, respectively. The results highlight the effectiveness of ResNet152V2 in handling the complexity of colon disease detection

Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is happening because the heart stops pumping the blood to the brain, lungs, et cetera, which will cause death within an hour. With this high risk and low survivability rate, real-time Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring systems have become a solution to tackle this problem. The system needs to be accessible at any time and condition by multiple users who bring up the needs of the availability and scalability of the system. Some research had been conducted on IoT monitoring system but still the result of availability and scalability not acceptable for a real-life scenario. The purpose of this research is to propose an architecture for a real-time IoT monitoring system for sudden cardiac death by using Kubernetes as the container orchestration and ProtocolBuffers as the Binary Serialization. The result shows us applying Kubernetes and ProtocolBuffers gives a good result with 100% successfully stored data and 50.5s end-to-end Execution time for 50000 requests which reflect a high availability and fast system. © 2021 IEEE.
