Micro-light-emitting diodes(μLEDs)have gained significant interest as an activation source for gas sensors owing to their advantages,including room temperature operation and low power ***,despite these benefits,challenges still exist such as a limited range of detectable gases and slow *** this study,we present a blueμLED-integrated light-activated gas sensor array based on SnO_(2)nanoparticles(NPs)that exhibit excellent sensitivity,tunable selectivity,and rapid detection with micro-watt level power *** optimal power forμLED is observed at the highest gas response,supported by finite-difference time-domain ***,we first report the visible light-activated selective detection of reducing gases using noble metal-decorated SnO_(2)*** noble metals induce catalytic interaction with reducing gases,clearly distinguishing NH3,H2,and ***-time gas monitoring based on a fully hardwareimplemented light-activated sensing array was demonstrated,opening up new avenues for advancements in light-activated electronic nose technologies.

Classification of hyperspectral images is computationally expensive due to the presence of large number of spectral bands. Therefore, dimensionality reduction using selection of optimal set of bands is an essential task to speed up the subsequent classification process. Bands must be selected in such a way so that they are as much independent as possible without sacrificing classification accuracy. In this context, a supervised band selection approach is proposed combining mutual and neighborhood information of bands. For classification purpose, Support Vector Machine classifier is used. Overall classification accuracy is considered to assess the efficiency of the proposed method. Performance of the proposed technique is compared with several other Mutual Information based methods and the proposed method is found to be better as compared to others.

This paper presents a new Wireless Power Transfer(WPT)approach by aligning the phases of a group of spatially distributed Radio Frequency(RF)transmitters(TX)at the target receiver(RX)*** approach can transfer energy over tens of meters and even to targets blocked by *** to popular beamforming based WPTs,our approach leads to a drastically different energy density distribution:the energy density at the target receiver is much higher than the energy density at other *** to this unique energy distribution pattern,our approach offers a safer WPT solution,which can be potentially scaled up to ship a higher level of energy over longer ***,we model the energy density distribution and prove that our proposed system can create a high energy peak exactly at the target *** we conduct detailed simulation studies to investigate how the actual energy distribution is impacted by various important system parameters,including number/topology of transmitters,transmitter antenna directionality,the distance between receiver and transmitters,and environmental ***,we build an actual prototype with 17 N210 and 4 B210 Universal Software Radio Peripheral(USRP)nodes,through which we validate the salient features and performance promises of the proposed system.

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence, the emergence of intelligent vehicles has brought disruptive changes to traditional survey technology. In response to the limitations of geological environmental factors on the scope and search progress of field exploration, this article utilizes a modular design concept to develop a system structure framework and specific solutions for each functional module of a multi-functional intelligent survey vehicle. An intelligent control platform based on the Nvidia Jetson TX2 and ROS systems has been built, and software programs for eye movement control and 3D dense reconstruction have been written. A system that can assist motion control through line of sight has been designed, A small, low-cost intelligent survey vehicle that can simultaneously perform real-time scene 3D reconstruction. This survey vehicle combines IoT technology, and on the basis of traditional survey vehicle functions, it has functions such as eye tracking, scene 3D reconstruction, remote object detection, etc. The obtained information is transmitted back to the PC through remote communication for users to view the survey results in real-time. At the same time, the operation of the survey vehicle can be controlled according to the direction of the line of sight, providing intelligent interaction ability and multi-dimensional exploration results for exploration work.

Waste heat in fiber lasers poses major challenges in frequency, power, and pointing stabilities, as well as beam quality and power scaling. Using anti-Stokes-fluorescence cooling, we developed a radiation-balanced Yb-doped silica fiber amplifier with a novel aluminophosphosilicate core-glass composition that delivers 575 mW with no net internal heat generation by amplifying a 0.9-mW seed at 1064 nm (28.0 dB of gain). With a lower seed power (0.4 mW), a radiation-balanced gain of 31.5 dB was achieved. We discuss the strategies and recent progress in silicate-glass engineering that enabled this breakthrough performance in a small-core fiber at atmospheric pressure, as well as the potential for power-scaling radiation-balanced fiber lasers to the 100-watt level through advanced fiber designs. Our findings point to a promising path for stable high-power operation free from thermal limitations. © 2025 SPIE.

The COVID-19 virus is usually spread by small droplets when talking,coughing and sneezing,so maintaining physical distance between people is necessary to slow the spread of the *** World Health Organization(WHO)recommends maintaining a social distance of at least six *** this paper,we developed a real-time pedestrian social distance risk alert system for COVID-19,whichmonitors the distance between people in real-time via video streaming and provides risk alerts to the person in charge,thus avoiding the problem of too close social distance between pedestrians in public *** design a lightweight convolutional neural network architecture to detect the distance between people more *** addition,due to the limitation of camera placement,the previous algorithm based on flat view is not applicable to the social distance calculation for cameras,so we designed and developed a perspective conversion module to reduce the image in the video to a bird’s eye view,which can avoid the error caused by the elevation view and thus provide accurate risk indication to the *** selected images containing only person labels in theCOCO2017 dataset to train our *** experimental results show that our network model achieves 82.3%detection accuracy and performs significantly better than other mainstream network architectures in the three metrics of Recall,Precision and mAP,proving the effectiveness of our system and the efficiency of our technology.

In this paper, Q-value theory of conventional antennas is used to analyze reasons of low radiation performance of acoustics promoted antennas, where we modify the radiating structure of existing acoustics promoting antenna using the simulations to get the required improvement on radiation performance. The simulation experiments are carried out in the finite element simulation software Comsol Multiphysics to analyze the radiating performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) is a clinical imaging technique that gained a lot of attention because it is a non-invasive and radiation-free method. To obtain an inner image of the domain under study, a specific number of electrodes is attached to the surface of the object, then through a pair of electrodes, a low alternative current is injected. Potentials produced by this injection are measured with the remaining electrodes. Based on these boundary voltages measurements, the inner conductivity can be inferred, thus the image is reconstructed. The focus of this paper is to overcome the major weakness of the EIT image reconstruction technique, which is the low spatial resolution of the reconstructed images caused by the non-linearity of EIT inverse problem. This paper considers this problem, an optimization problem that is solved using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) meta-heuristic. A variant of the standard PSO is proposed and validated, first on a circular mesh composed of 686 triangles then on a lung mesh composed of 2707 triangles. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, time series prediction has become a highly interesting topic in various applied areas, including clinical time series analysis. Hospitals and other clinical healthcare systems collect Electronic Health Records. These records contain important information that needs to be mined. This information provides a solid basis for predicting hospital readmission, helping to improve healthcare, enhance patient outcomes, and optimize hospital resources. This study introduces a novel deep learning attention-based approach for predicting 30-day ICU readmissions using clinical time series information extracted from the MIMIC III dataset. This approach incorporates time-aware positional encoding into the attention mechanism to enhance predictive performance by capturing the temporal representation of data and considering the temporal order of clinical time series data. This model is compared with cutting-edge models. The significant enhancements in the model performance achieved by the proposed method highlight the effectiveness of incorporating time-aware positional encoding in capturing temporal dependencies and improving prediction outcomes. These results underscore the potential of advanced attention mechanisms in clinical time series analysis.

Streaming analytics is the process of ingesting and digesting live data from multiple data sources. In the healthcare domain, as the importance of extracting immediate insights while data are streaming into the system grows, the focus is shifting from batch processing to streaming analytics. With data increasing dramatically at high speeds, many informatics designs have been proposed to adapt healthcare domain into this new environment. In our previous work, we introduced a prototype of health informatics technology (HIT) framework that aims to address challenges in adopting state-of-the-art technologies to enable advanced healthcare analytic tasks in new streaming environments. We recently made major updates to the framework so that anomaly from multiple streaming data sources at different granularity levels can be detected in near real-time. In this paper, we detail the implementation and deployment of the framework in Kubernetes clusters and report its performances when tested on electronic health record (EHR) data of Veterans Affairs. © 2022 IEEE.
