Transcatheter aortic valve implant (TAVI) has emerged as a prominent approach for treating aortic stenosis. Success of such implants depends upon the accurate assessment of the geometric features such as the diameter, center and orientation of the aortic valve annulus (AVA). In this paper, we present a method for extracting these geometric features from magnetic resonance images (MRI). The method is based on finding an optimal fit for a circular ring mimicking AVA in the aortic root. Moreover, the presented approach provides dynamic tracking of the AVA in CINE MR images. This approach can be used for preoperative planning of prosthetic valve implantation, as well as for the emerging MRI guided manual, or with robot-assisted, annuloplasty.

Our aim is to produce a tessellation of space into small voxels and, based on only a few tomographic projections of an object, assign to each voxel a label that indicates one of the components of interest constituting the object. Traditional methods are not reliable in applications, such as electron microscopy in which (due to the damage by radiation) only a few projections are available. We postulate a low level prior knowledge regarding the underlying distribution of label images, and then directly estimate the label image based on the prior and the projections. We use a relatively efficient approximation to a global search for the estimation.

In this paper we introduce the term mixed interaction space and argue that the possibility of using mixed interaction spaces is what distinguishes camera-based interaction from other types of sensor-based interaction on mobile devices. 3D displays are coming phenomenon of the nearest future and it is expected that 3D displays will be widely available soon. There are currently some 3D displays available and also some notebooks with 3D display as Sharp AL3D. The viewing position is quite restricted spatially in the case of 3D displays and also the (visual information for the left eye is taken by the right eye and vice versa) causes some severe problems in 3D image perception. This paper addresses several issues concerning 3D perception based on stereo-images. Another issues related to 3D stereo video perception, like discontinuities between frames etc. are not described here.
