As hospitals move towards automating and integrating their computing systems, more fine-grained hospital operations data are becoming available. These data include hospital architectural drawings, logs of interactions between patients and healthcare professionals, prescription data, procedures data, and data on patient admission, discharge, and transfers. This has opened up many fascinating avenues for healthcare-related prediction tasks for improving patient care. However, in order to leverage off-the-shelf machine learning software for these tasks, one needs to learn structured representations of entities involved from heterogeneous, dynamic data streams. Here, we propose DECENT, an auto-encoding heterogeneous co-evolving dynamic neural network, for learning heterogeneous dynamic embeddings of patients, doctors, rooms, and medications from diverse data streams. These embeddings capture similarities among doctors, rooms, patients, and medications based on static attributes and dynamic interactions. DECENT enables several applications in healthcare prediction, such as predicting mortality risk and case severity of patients, adverse events (e.g., transfer back into an intensive care unit), and future healthcare-associated infections. The results of using the learned patient embeddings in predictive modeling show that DECENT has a gain of up to 48.1% on the mortality risk prediction task, 12.6% on the case severity prediction task, 6.4% on the medical intensive care unit transfer task, and 3.8% on the Clostridioides difficile (***) Infection (CDI) prediction task over the state-of-the-art baselines. In addition, case studies on the learned doctor, medication, and room embeddings show that our approach learns meaningful and interpretable embeddings. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into modern homes has enhanced safety and comfort, particularly in detecting gas leaks, which pose serious fire hazards. Gas leaks can often be detected by smell, but this method fails when no one is present. Previous research using microcontrollers and sensors to detect gas leaks faced challenges with accuracy due to noise interference. This paper proposes the use of a Kalman filter, developed by Rudolf Emil Kalman in 1960, to improve gas leak detection accuracy by filtering out noise. The system comprises an Arduino Nano, ESP8266 WiFi module, MQ-2 gas sensor, buzzer, and ThingSpeak cloud platform. By applying the Kalman filter, noise and data oscillations are reduced, enhancing detection accuracy. Experimental results show the system effectively detects gas leaks, provides real-time data, and triggers alarms. Future improvements could include additional sensors and features to further increase the system’s reliability and functionality.

GNN2R: Weakly-Supervised Rationale-Providing Question Answering over Knowledge Graphs

Most current methods for multi-hop question answering (QA) over knowledge graphs (KGs) only provide final conclusive answers without explanations, such as a set of KG entities that is difficult for normal users to review and comprehend. This issue severely limits the application of KG-based QA in real-world scenarios. However, it is non-trivial to solve due to two challenges: First, annotations of reasoning chains of multi-hop questions, which could serve as supervision for explanation generation, are usually lacking. Second, it is difficult to maintain high efficiency when explicit KG triples need to be retrieved to generate explanations. In this paper, we propose a novel Graph Neural Network-based Two-Step Reasoning model (GNN2R) to solve this issue. GNN2R can provide both final answers and reasoning subgraphs as a rationale behind final answers efficiently with only weak supervision that is available through question-final answer pairs. We extensively evaluated GNN2R with detailed analyses in experiments. The results demonstrate that, in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of generated explanations, GNN2R outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods that are applicable to this task. Study on the identification and classification of fish is challenging and valuable because of its role in advancing the marine and agricultural fields. This research has benefits interms of monitoring fish populations and ecosystems in a particular area. Furthermore, this research helps monitor fish that are considered threatened or endangered so that it makes iteasier to map prohibited areas for fishing. This research aims to know performance of MobileNetV2 and VGG16 with parameter tuning process by identifying the value of batch size, epoch, learning rate, and optimizer for fish image dataset. The proposed research phase consists of five main stages, including experimental setup, dataset construction, dataset preprocessing, dataset training and modelling and evaluation. As the result, VGG16 obtained the highest accuracy value. For VGG16 without fine-tuning, the testing accuracy is 98.07%. For VGG16 with fine-tuning, the testing accuracy is 96.56%.

This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the 'performing Scalable Inference' technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. In the long run, by leveraging those techniques, the platform can draw efficient inferences and appropriately compare situations in an agile and green way.. © 2023 IEEE.

ERP stands for enterprise resource planning. It is an information system that is all rolled into one, is very flexible and adaptable, and optimizes business operations while also centralizing all of the company's data. This study aims to empirically investigate the elements that affect users' intention and usage of enterprise resource planning (ERP). This research incorporates self-efficacy into the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2). A quantitative technique was taken, and as a result, 143 replies that might be used were effectively collected. After that, the information was put through a structural equation modelling partial least square (SEM-PLS) analysis. According to the findings of this research, self-efficacy appears to have a significant influence on all endogenous variables (EE, BI, and UB), as indicated by t-values of 3.951, 7.573, and 5.492, respectively. In addition, the analysis also indicated that PE (4.317), EE (2.397), and HM (3.084) are likewise statistically and substantively significant to BI. The result shows that the R2 for BI and UB indicate a moderate impact of 0.603 and 0.521, respectively. It is suggested that the model has valuable applications in academic and real-world contexts. © 2023 IEEE.

The amniotic fluid surrounds and protects the fetus from colliding with one another during the uterus development process. It also protects the umbilical cord from the uterine wall pressure, helps fetus movement, and develops muscles and bones. Selection of the most profound areas of improper and withdrawal points are not straight caliper is very likely that affect the outcome screening. Furthermore, there are similarities in texture and gray level between objects, especially in the boundary area between amniotic fluid and other objects, such as the placenta and uterus, which causes the border area to be less clear. Therefore, this research proposes a novel pixel classification model to separate amniotic fluid from other objects with a limit on the specified window size to solve this issue. In contrast to the most existing semantic segmentation methods or pixel-wise classification, we use the sampling window technique to construct train sets of data to produce pixel-level information more specifically in certain areas. Furthermore, each window extracts pixel information on gray level features and local variance (GLLV), using a novel Distance Angle Pixel (DAP). To evaluate the proposed model performance, we perform an extensive comparison with state-of-art methods by testing it on amniotic fluid ultrasound images. The results showed that the proposed model with a 3 × 3 window and random forest classifier could achieve the best value using an average Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) of 0.876, Jaccard/IoU of 0.768, and Pixel accuracy of 85.7%. The proposed model has 0.324 DSC improved from U-Net, 0.046 from gray-level pixel classification, 0.092 from thresholding, 0,252 from active contour, and 0.19 from rectangle window sampling. © 2021

Deep learning-based real time detection for cardiac objects with fetal ultrasound video

Fetal cardiac anatomical structure interpretation by ultrasound (US) is a key part of prenatal assessment. Unfortunately, the numerous speckles in US video, the small size of fetal cardiac structures, and unfixed fetal positions make manual detection processes difficult. To alleviate such problems, a deep learning model was developed to fully automate the processing of fetal echocardiographs with 2-dimensional cross-sectional images. The weakness of such an approach is that a physician immediately interprets US video with 3-dimensional objects to diagnose patients in clinical practice. To improve fetal cardiac anatomical structure interpretation via US for accurate and real time diagnosis, this paper proposes a real-time fetal cardiac substructure detection using US video with the You Only Look Once (YOLO) framework. In YOLO, an end-to-end neural network makes predictions for cardiac substructure objects, boxes, and class probabilities simultaneously. To achieve reliable performance, 40 fetal echocardiography videos were trained with the new YOLOv7 architecture and fine-tuned to work optimally and run efficiently. We conducted with nine fetal cardiac substructure objects such as the left atrium, right atrium, left ventricle, right ventricle, tricuspid valve, pulmonary valve, mitral valve, aortic valve, and aorta. The results yielded the highest mean average precision of 82.10%, reaching 17 frames per second (FPS) for nine cardiac substructure objects in 0.3 ms. The main finding of our study is that with even a limited number of US videos, YOLOv7 can detect fetal cardiac substructure objects in real-time. Such a network can work efficiently to detect small fetal cardiac objects automatically in a rapid phase with the help of proper fine-tuning. This work mainly assists medical experts in the fetal cardiac anatomy diagnostic process. © 2022 The Authors

The increasing use of digital payment systems has led to a rise in fraudulent activities, presenting a significant challenge in ensuring secure transactions. This research focuses on implementing the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm with a Radial Basis Function (RBF) kernel to detect fraud in digital payment systems. One of the main challenges addressed in this study is the severe class imbalance in the dataset, where fraudulent transactions account for only 0.17% of total transactions. To overcome this, the SMOTE (Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique) method was applied to balance the dataset, allowing the model to better recognize fraudulent patterns. The results indicate that the SVM model achieved an accuracy of 99.93%, with a precision of 86.23% and a recall of 75.51%. These results demonstrate that SVM, combined with SMOTE and RBF kernel, is highly effective in detecting fraudulent transactions while minimizing false positives. This research provides a strong foundation for improving fraud detection models in the context of digital payment systems, offering enhanced security and trust for users. Further research could explore hybrid models and real-time data analysis to improve performance.
