Breast cancer is an occurrence of cancer that attacks breast tissue and is the most common cancer among women worldwide, affecting one in eight women. In this modern world, breast cancer image classification simplifies the process of analyzing, providing objective and accurate results. By leveraging machine learning algorithms and computer vision techniques, we developed breast cancer detection. The dataset is histopathology dataset from BreakHis and UNHAS Hospital. We chose the ConvNeXt-Tiny model then modified the classifier head as the proposed method. Before the dataset is processed by the model, we augment the images by applying random horizontal and vertical flips, adjustments to brightness, contrast, saturation, and hue using color jitter. The augmentation process simulates real-world variance and enhances the model's ability to generalize to unseen data. Our proposed model gained better performance (accuracy, F1-Score) results compared two other techniques to VGG16 and SVM. According to our experiments, the F1-Score for the ConvNeXt-Tiny model with classifier head modification is higher at 0.9516, than the gain for VGG16 at 0.9292, and the gain for the SVM at 0.83. © 2024 IEEE.

IT/OT convergence in the form of a Cyber-Physical System (CPS) presents an opportunity to apply recent Information Technology (IT) advancements to Operational Technology (OT). The IT/OT convergence introduces cyber security threats for OT. The OT communication protocols, for example, have limited or no security capabilities for securing data exchange beyond basic authentication. The RNG (Random Number Generator) function is crucial in PLC for producing the encryption keys or the initial seed for security algorithms. The software-based PRNG (Pseudo RNG) is the most common approach for RNG in OT, instead of hardware-based RNG. This study provides a systematic literature review of the most recent evidence in digital transformation to secure data exchange in smart factories, within OT, or across OT and IT settings. It does this by looking at the PRNG on PLC and identifying the most recent trends and best practices. The findings include up-to-date data on author countries' distribution, published journals, research trends, industries, and industry types. The findings also address whether data flow is encrypted or shared in plaintext to ensure secure data transfer between IT and legacy OT environments. This paper concludes that while there is known RNG implementation in the actual embedded system in ICS, there is no evidence in the literature for using RNG in ICS networks for PLC implementation to secure data transfer with encryption. © 2024 IEEE.

The Internet of Things is helping us to make our lives comfortable. IoT devices used here are resource-constrained in terms of memory and CPU as well as they lack basic security design. When everyone is using IoT, there are high chances of their personal data getting exposed to the outside world. For real-time application, data need to be processed at the edge layer directly instead of doing the entire processing and analysis at cloud. Privacy preserving at the edge layer in the Internet of Things is a challenging task. We proposed a lightweight privacy preserving framework that uses the concept of blockchain, zero knowledge proof algorithm, principal component analysis, and digital signatures. Here for the mining process in blockchain, Trust concept is being used instead of Proof of Work (POW) and Proof of Stake (POS) as it consumes fewer resources and our edge layer is resource constrained. Stress is a state of mental or emotional strain due to adversative or challenging situations. A human may undergo bad life experiences or events, and it is a significant issue to be dealt in today's society. It comes as a result of family situations, health concerns, work environments and people's behavior among other things. It affects people of various ages, including children, teenagers, middle-aged people and senior citizens. It has serious consequences affecting human body and life. These problems can be addressed by detecting mental stress at an early stage. The main goal of the propounded system is to identify human stress using a pre-trained Mini-Xception model. Additional measures such as eye moments, mouth activity and head motion are employed for determining the level of human stress. FER2013 dataset is used and the system is tested for all kinds of emotions. Human stress level is experimented by capturing video using webcam. From the experimental outcomes, it is evident that the proposed system offers better performance in terms of Precision, Accuracy, Specificity and Sensitivity in contrast to traditional methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

American Sign Language (ASL) recognition aims to recognize hand gestures, and it is a crucial solution to communicating between the deaf community and hearing people. However, existing sign language recognition algorithms still have some drawbacks, such as difficulty recognizing hand movements and low recognition accuracy for most sign language recognition. A Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN) deep residual 101 classifier-based American Sign Language identification system has been developed to address this problem. There are three main parts presents in the method. The first part is pre-processing the images to remove the noise, enhance the contrast of the picture, adjust the contrast level and smoothen the picture using various filters. The second part is the segmentation, and it’s used to partition the image using a modified canny edge detection method by removing all weak edges present in the image. Finally, classification will be done using the Modified CNN deep residual 101 classifiers. By classifying the image, the American Sign Language is accurately identified. This process is conducted through images. The outcome shows that the suggested approach has a 0.97% accuracy and a 0.05% False Positive Rate. Other CNN architectures such as resNet 50 and resNet 18 reached 0.90% and 0.80% accuracy, respectively, which is lower than our proposed method. In addition, the resNet 101 classifier effectively recognizes the difficult hand gestures through the image data. It obtains high recognition accuracy for 36 signs is 0 to 9 numbers and a to z alphabets from American Sign Language. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Brain tumor significantly impacts the quality of life and changes everything for a patient and their loved *** a brain tumor usually begins with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).The manual brain tumor diagnosis from the MRO images always requires an expert ***,this process is time-consuming and ***,a computerized technique is required for brain tumor detection in MRI *** the MRI,a novel mechanism of the three-dimensional(3D)Kronecker convolution feature pyramid(KCFP)is used to segment brain tumors,resolving the pixel loss and weak processing of multi-scale lesions.A single dilation rate was replaced with the 3D Kronecker convolution,while local feature learning was performed using the 3D Feature Selection(3DFSC).A 3D KCFP was added at the end of 3DFSC to resolve weak processing of multi-scale lesions,yielding efficient segmentation of brain tumors of different sizes.A 3D connected component analysis with a global threshold was used as a post-processing *** standard Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation 2020 dataset was used for model *** 3D KCFP model performed exceptionally well compared to other benchmark schemes with a dice similarity coefficient of 0.90,0.80,and 0.84 for the whole tumor,enhancing tumor,and tumor core,***,the proposed model was efficient in brain tumor segmentation,which may facilitate medical practitioners for an appropriate diagnosis for future treatment planning.

Conventional flood forecasting methods can be roughly classified as physics-based models and data-oriented models, which both require parameter optimization. In parameter optimization, a search is generally done to minimize the magnitude of overall errors. However, under- and overestimation errors are not equivalent in flood forecasting since underestimation of the water level leads to delays in decision making. We propose a risk-aware forecasting method that uses a weighted loss function. We applied the proposed method to both physics-based models and machine learning models and compared the prediction results to clarify the difference in the prediction results according to the base model used. The results show that the model optimized by the weighted loss function reduced the underestimation error while maintaining the overall error. © 2023 Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers. Agriculture plays a pivotal role in ensuring food security and sustainable development. Accurate prediction of crop growth and yield is essential for optimizing agricultural practices and resource allocation. This study presents an integrated approach employing various machine learning techniques to predict crop growth, exemplified by a dataset of 70 plant samples. The dataset includes environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, soil composition, and pH levels, as well as temporal information like growth days. The dataset goes through a thorough preprocessing step that includes resolving missing values, eliminating duplicates, and, encoding categorical variables. To make sure that every variable contributes equally to the models, feature scaling approaches like Z-score standardization and Min–Max scaling are used. The probabilistic outputs of the SVM and XGBoost models are combined in an ensemble technique to improve prediction accuracy. This fusion strategy utilizes the strengths of each model and reduces individual model biases. In addition to classification models, Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) is utilized to provide probabilistic crop growth predictions. GPR offers a continuous output that can be used for yield estimation and uncertainty quantification. Model performance is evaluated using evaluation measures including R-squared (R2), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE). These measures offer information on the precision, accuracy, and capacity of the models to explain crop growth variance. This work suggests using Gaussian Process Regression, a machine learning technique, to improve the outcomes of crop growth monitoring for lettuce in aeroponic vertical farming systems. Compared to previous models, this one generates higher prediction results of 0.99% and has lower error rates of 0.32 (MSE), 0.56 (RMSE), and 0.20 (MAE).
