One of the challenging problems with evolutionary computing algorithms is to maintain the balance between exploration and exploitation capability in order to search global optima.A novel convergence track based adaptive differential evolution(CTbADE)algorithm is presented in this research *** crossover rate and mutation probability parameters in a differential evolution algorithm have a significant role in searching global optima.A more diverse population improves the global searching capability and helps to escape from the local optima *** the convergence path over time helps enhance the searching speed of a differential evolution algorithm for varying *** adaptive powerful parameter-controlled sequences utilized learning period-based memory and following convergence track over time are introduced in this *** proposed algorithm will be helpful in maintaining the equilibrium between an algorithm’s exploration and exploitation capability.A comprehensive test suite of standard benchmark problems with different natures,i.e.,unimodal/multimodal and separable/non-separable,was used to test the convergence power of the proposed CTbADE *** results show the significant performance of the CTbADE algorithm in terms of average fitness,solution quality,and convergence speed when compared with standard differential evolution algorithms and a few other commonly used state-of-the-art algorithms,such as jDE,CoDE,and EPSDE *** algorithm will prove to be a significant addition to the literature in order to solve real time problems and to optimize computationalmodels with a high number of parameters to adjust during the problem-solving process.

To extract important information from the document images, document layout analysis research has been carried out. Previous research analyzes document layouts only for specific document formats. This paper proposes a document layout analysis method that adopts pre-processing based on document image classification to analyze document layouts for various document formats. From the application examples, we have confirmed that the proposed method can correctly analyze document layout by using training models trained for each document format. Furthermore, to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed method, we have compared the F score of the proposed method for document layout analysis using a single training model covering various document formats and using a training model generated for each document format. EEG signals for real-time emotion identification are crucial for affective computing and human-computer interaction. The current emotion recognition models, which rely on a small number of emotion classes and stimuli like music and images in controlled lab conditions, have poor ecological validity. Furthermore, identifying relevant EEG signal features is crucial for efficient emotion identification. According to the complexity, non-stationarity, and variation nature of EEG signals, which make it challenging to identify relevant features to categorize and identify emotions, a novel approach for feature extraction and classification concerning EEG signals is suggested based on invariant wavelet scattering transform (WST) and support vector machine algorithm (SVM). The WST is a new time-frequency domain equivalent to a deep convolutional network. It produces scattering feature matrix representations that are stable against time-warping deformations, noise-resistant, and time-shift invariant existing in EEG signals. So, small, difficult-to-measure variations in the amplitude and duration of EEG signals can be captured. As a result, it addresses the limitations of the previous feature extraction approaches, which are unstable and sensitive to time-shift variations. In this paper, the zero, first, and second order features from DEAP datasets are obtained by performing the WST with two deep layers. Then, the PCA method is used for dimensionality reduction. Finally, the extracted features are fed as inputs for different classifiers. In the classification step, the SVM classifier is utilized with different classification algorithms such as k-nearest neighbours (KNN), random forest (RF), and AdaBoost classifier. This research employs a principal component analysis (PCA) approach to reduce the high dimensionality of scattering characteristics and increase the computational efficiency of our classifiers. Cyber-physical systems (CPS) and the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies link urban systems through networks and improve the delivery of quality services to residents. To enhance municipality services, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are integrated with urban systems. However, the large number of sensors in a smart city generates a significant amount of delicate data, like medical records, credit card numerics, and location coordinates, which are transported across a network to data centers for analysis and processing. This makes smart cities vulnerable to cyberattacks because of the resource constraints of their technology infrastructure. Applications for smart cities pose many security challenges, such as zero-day attacks resulting from exploiting weaknesses in various protocols. Therefore, this paper proposes an optimal hybrid transit search-cascade regional convolutional neural network (hybrid TS-Cascade R-CNN) to detect cyberattacks. The proposed model combines the hybrid transit-search approach with the cascade regional convolutional neural network to create an optimal solution for cyberattack detection. The cascade regional convolutional network uses a hybrid transit search algorithm to enhance the effectiveness of cyberattack detection. By integrating these two approaches, the system can leverage both global traffic patterns and local indicators to improve the accuracy of attack detection. During the training process, the proposed model recognizes and classifies malicious input even in the presence of sophisticated attacks. Finally, the experimental analysis is carried out for various attacks based on different metrics. The accuracy rate attained by the proposed approach is 99.2%, which is acceptable according to standards. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory Data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid Data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. Dataset management systems are essential for assisting research and development (R&D) organizations in applying data governance protocols, especially in managing the utilization of datasets. In R&D, datasets are vital sources for producing analysis, machine learning prediction, and supporting decision-making. As such, it is important to deploy dataset management systems with considerations regarding the aspects of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) which is a design principle that emphasized information protection and collaboration facilitation among dataset users. The study proposed an analysis and a design for a dataset management system that takes CIA aspects into account. In the future, the proposed design will be utilized as a benchmark for building a dataset management system. In this study, the Waterfall method was adopted. A use case diagram, an ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram), and an activity diagram were constructed in the design stage. In the project implementation stage, the Laravel framework including Laravel Jetstream was considered to be used. © 2024 IEEE.

In healthcare, medical images are playing a major role in accurate diagnosis. Cloud storage for medical images creates security risks and latency due to some critical vulnerabilities and their distance from data sources. By bringing computation closer to the source, edge computing improves efficiency, still edge servers cannot be trusted blindly, requiring robust security measures. In this article, an efficient and lightweight framework for secure medical image search and retrieval that leverages edge computing is proposed. Here, Medical images are encrypted and similarity-preserving hashcodes are generated locally at the source, which are sent to a trusted master edge server. Before being stored, searchable hashcodes undergo homomorphic encryption, allowing for secure computations on encrypted data. The master edge server generates n shares of the encrypted images by applying a Learning With Errors (LWE) based image sharing scheme and distributing them across nearby edge devices. During retrieval, to ensure resilience against device compromise, m out of n shares are used to reconstruct the image. The master edge server retrieves and reconstructs the top k relevant images in response to the query image. This framework enhances security and efficiency by reducing reliance on cloud storage and enabling secure processing on edge servers, making it ideal for modern healthcare environments. The efficiency and security of the proposed framework are proved theoretically and experimentally. Hence, it proved that the framework is performing better than existing state-of-the-art models. ©2024 IEEE.
