With new developments experienced in Internet of Things(IoT),wearable,and sensing technology,the value of healthcare services has *** evolution has brought significant changes from conventional medicine-based healthcare to real-time observation-based *** Electrocardiogram(ECG)signals are generally utilized in examination and diagnosis of Cardiovascular Diseases(CVDs)since it is quick and non-invasive in *** to increasing number of patients in recent years,the classifier efficiency gets reduced due to high variances observed in ECG signal patterns obtained from *** such scenario computer-assisted automated diagnostic tools are important for classification of ECG *** current study devises an Improved Bat Algorithm with Deep Learning Based Biomedical ECGSignal Classification(IBADL-BECGC)*** accomplish this,the proposed IBADL-BECGC model initially pre-processes the input ***,IBADL-BECGC model applies NasNet model to derive the features from test ECG *** addition,Improved Bat Algorithm(IBA)is employed to optimally fine-tune the hyperparameters related to NasNet ***,Extreme Learning Machine(ELM)classification algorithm is executed to perform ECG classification *** presented IBADL-BECGC model was experimentally validated utilizing benchmark *** comparison study outcomes established the improved performance of IBADL-BECGC model over other existing methodologies since the former achieved a maximum accuracy of 97.49%.

Nowadays, we usually compress images before uploading them to social media. However, images on social media can easily be copied, so embedding secret messages in compressed images has become increasingly popular. There are many compression methods, such as Huffman, VQ, ZIP, AMBTC, RAR, JPEG, etc. In this article, we propose an improved data hiding in VQ compression method to achieve better capacity and high quality. Experimental results show that our data-hiding approach is practical. ©2024 IEEE.

Hand sign recognition is a vital technology in the human-computer interaction, enabling individuals to communicate with machines naturally and effectively. An innovative approach for real-time hand sign identification with the help of CNN and OpenCV is introduced with the fusion of computer vision and deep learning that can accurately interpret and classify an extensive range of hand signs and gestures. This research contributes significantly to the fields of computer vision and human-computer interaction, offering a practical and efficient solution for hand sign recognition. The combination of CNN and OpenCV presents a promising avenue for enhancing accessibility and communication, especially in environments where verbal communication is limited or non-existent. The model is trained with multiple data so that the system can recognize the hand gestures more precisely. Pre-trained architectures like ResNet and MobileNet are combined with the CNN model using ensemble learning and the performance is improved when compared to all the three CNN architectures individually. The ensemble model provides better accuracy of 96 %. The potential applications of this technology are vast, from assisting the hearing-impaired in understanding sign language to more immersive and intuitive interactions. Overall, the approach holds the promise of bridging the gap between human gestures and machine understanding, opening new doors for meaningful interactions between individuals and intelligent systems. © 2024 IEEE.

In IEC-61850-based digital substations, the protection IED’s performance is dependent on merging unit’s vendor implementation, communication networks, and measurement circuit’s health conditions. As the process bus Sampled Value(SV) enables the availability of all sensor data on a communication network, this paper proposes a Backup Subscription scheme (BSS) for a transformer differential protection (87T, PDIF) function. BSS utilizes sensor data in digital substations to achieve a flexible protection scheme using a dynamic subscription feature. Thus, in case of failure of one sensor, differential protection would be maintained. The paper presents the implementation and verification of a prototyped scheme using a Hardware-in-the-loop simulation test bed. The main result is that BSS integration into differential protection ensures its dependability and security. Moreover, delay compensation and seamless switching feature increases the availability of differential protection. © The Author(s) 2024.

Nowcasting and forecasting solar irradiance are vital for the optimal prediction of grid-connected solar photovoltaic(PV)power *** plants face operational challenges and scheduling dispatch difficulties due to the fluctuating nature of their power *** the generation capacity within the electric grid increases,accurately predicting this output becomes increasingly essential,especially given the random and non-linear characteristics of solar irradiance under variable weather *** study presents a novel prediction method for solar irradiance,which is directly in correlation with PV power output,targeting both short-term and medium-term forecast *** proposed hybrid framework employs a fast trainable statistical learning technique based on the truncated-regularized kernel ridge regression *** proposed method excels in forecasting solar irradiance,especially during highly intermittent weather periods.A key strength of our model is the incorporation of multiple historical weather parameters as inputs to generate accurate predictions of future solar irradiance values in its scalable *** evaluated the performance of our model using data sets from both cloudy and sunny days in Seattle and Medford,USA and compared it against three forecasting models:persistence,modified 24-hour persistence and least *** on three widely accepted statistical performance metrics(root mean squared error,mean absolute error and coefficient of determination),our hybrid model demonstrated superior predictive accuracy in varying weather conditions and forecast horizons.

In people's daily lives, electronic mail, audio-visual media platforms, and communication software all have the need for file transmission. This article proposes a digital aggregation system with an adaptive collaborative transmission mechanism. By using traditional UDP and TCP transmission protocols, the file transmission method is adaptively adjusted based on the file type, file size, and network conditions of the device. Through these selection parameters, the file has the most suitable and optimized transmission and upload mode during the transmission process. This article proposes a transmission mode that combines transmission speed and file integrity, systematically examining the existing transmission environment and improving traditional transmission protocols. The communication protocol method proposed through this method is 2.5% faster than traditional transmission protocols for image file transmission. Compared to traditional transmission protocols, the transmission speed of audio files is 1.07% faster. Compared to traditional transmission protocols, video file transmission speed is 1.21% faster. This study adopts a collaborative communication transmission mechanism, which accelerates the transmission speed of multiple clients obtaining files from the server by 1.2% compared to a non-collaborative communication transmission mechanism. The client can still connect to the server at a slower time. This mechanism can accelerate download speed and make it easier to obtain files. Combining with the transmission platform, examining the environmental conditions of the device can be applied to optimize the transmission between servers and clients. In underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs), effective congestion control is essential for ensuring reliable data transmission and resource efficiency, especially in the face of challenging environmental factors such as water velocity, pressure, temperature, and salinity. This paper introduces a novel Adaptive Fairness-Indexed Congestion Control (AFICC) mechanism that employs Q-learning to dynamically adjust transmission rates among nodes, ensuring equitable resource distribution and minimizing congestion. Our simulations, conducted with 100 nodes at depths of up to 1000 meters, reveal that AFICC significantly outperforms two existing algorithms: Rate-Based Congestion Control (RBCC) and Energy-Aware Congestion Control (EACC). Specifically, AFICC achieved a Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) of 93%, compared to 85% for RBCC and 80% for EACC. Additionally, the End-to-End Delay was reduced to an average of 150 milliseconds with AFICC, while RBCC and EACC recorded delays of 220 milliseconds and 210 milliseconds, respectively. AFICC also demonstrated a 25% improvement in Energy Efficiency over EACC and maintained a Jain's Fairness Index of 0.92, surpassing the 0.82 and 0.78 indices achieved by RBCC and EACC, respectively. These results confirm that AFICC offers a robust framework for congestion control in UASNs, effectively adapting to fluctuating underwater conditions while ensuring reliable communication and equitable resource allocation. © 2024 IEEE.

Road Side Units(RSUs)are the essential component of vehicular communication for the objective of improving safety and mobility in the road *** are generally deployed at the roadside and more specifically at the intersections in order to collect traffic information from the vehicles and disseminate alarms and messages in emergency situations to the neighborhood vehicles cooperating with the ***,the development of a predominant RSUs placement algorithm for ensuring competent communication in VANETs is a challenging issue due to the hindrance of obstacles like water bodies,trees and *** this paper,Ruppert’s Delaunay Triangulation Refinement Scheme(RDTRS)for optimal RSUs placement is proposed for accurately estimating the optimal number of RSUs that has the possibility of enhancing the area of coverage during data *** RDTRS is proposed by considering the maximum number of factors such as global coverage,intersection popularity,vehicle density and obstacles present in the map for optimal RSUs placement,which is considered as the core improvement over the existing RSUs optimal placement *** is contributed for deploying requisite RSUs with essential transmission range for maximal coverage in the convex map such that each position of the map could be effectively covered by at least one RSU in the presence of *** simulation experiments of the proposed RDTRS are conducted with complex road traffic *** results of this proposed RDTRS confirmed its predominance in reducing the end-to-end delay by 21.32%,packet loss by 9.38%with improved packet delivery rate of 10.68%,compared to the benchmarked schemes.

Human-robot teaming has become increasingly important with the advent of intelligent machines. Prior efforts suggest that performance, mental workload, and trust are critical elements of human-robot dynamics that can be altered by the robot's behavior. Most prior human-robot teaming studies used behavioral analyses, but a limited number used neural markers, without the use of physical robots and complex tasks. Here we combine behavioral and EEG cortical dynamics to examine cognitive-motor processes when individuals complete a complex task under various team environments with a robot. The results revealed that altering the robot quality affected both behavioral and EEG dynamics. Task completion with an experienced robot led to greater team performance and human trust along with lower mental workload compared to an inexperienced teammate or when individuals performed alone. EEG changes suggest that different attentional processes were engaged when humans worked with the robot and performed alone, and that visual processing was more prominent when teaming with an inexperienced teammate. This work can inform human cognitive-motor processes and the design of robotic controllers in human-robot teams. © 2024 IEEE.
