In the field of engineering optimization design, there are many optimization problems with time-varying objective functions. Tracking motion optimization (TMO) and time domain Robust optimization (ROOT) are two widely used methods to solve this problem. The purpose of TMO is to find the optimal solution before the environment changes, while the purpose of ROOT is to find a solution that can adapt to changes over a long period of time. However, both TMO and ROOT approaches have some defects. First of all, the existing engineering optimization problems have constraints and will change with time. Second, in the optimizing environment, the noises in most environments will affect the candidates. Therefore, a dynamic constrained time-domain robust optimization algorithm (DCRO/SCNO) considering noises and switching costs is proposed in this paper. Switching cost and robustness are considered as multi-objective optimization, and the idea of double elite is introduced to divide the population into three groups to collaborate for the problem of non-robustness solutions in noisy environment. Benchmark experiments show that DCRO/SCNO can find non-dominant solutions in different noise environments, which confirms the validity of the dual elite idea. © 2023 IEEE.

In the field of engineering design, there is a class of constrained multi-objective optimization problems where the optimal solutions are often found at the constraint boundaries. However, effectively utilizing the infeasible solutions at these boundaries poses a challenge in solving these problems. To address this issue, this paper proposes a constrained multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on an infeasible archive (CIA). CIA utilizes two populations: one considers both objectives and constraints, while the other ignores all constraints. Additionally, an archive is implemented to store non-dominated infeasible solutions. To improve the search coverage in the initial stage and accelerate convergence in the later stage, a strategy is implemented that reduces infeasible solutions using the infeasible archive. Furthermore, a neighborhood-based offspring generation mechanism is developed, which combines feasible and infeasible solutions to enhance the ability of the algorithm to explore constraint boundaries. Experimental results from three test suites demonstrate that the proposed algorithm performs competitively when compared to four representative algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper mainly discusses two kinds of coupled reaction-diffusion neural networks (CRNN) under topology attacks, that is, the cases with multistate couplings and with multiple spatial-diffusion couplings. On one hand, by adopting state feedback control scheme, the problem of the lag synchronization for the multistate coupled CRNN is addressed. Moreover, the influences of external disturbances for the lag synchronization of the CRNN with multistate couplings are also taken into consideration. On the other hand, several lag and lag H∞ synchronization conditions for CRNN with multiple spatial-diffusion couplings are derived under the help of the Kronecker product and the state feedback control method. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to verify the correctness of the derived criteria. © 2014 IEEE.

Nowadays, proper urban waste management is one the biggest concerns for maintaining a green and clean environment. An automatic waste segregation system can be a viable solution to improve the sustainability of the country and to boost up the circular economy. This paper proposes a machine to segregate the waste into the different parts with the help of smart object detection algorithm using ConvoWaste in the field of Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN), and image processing technique. In this paper, the deep learning and image processing techniques are applied to classify the waste precisely and the detected waste is placed inside the corresponding bins with the help of a servo motor-based system. This machine has the provision to notify the responsible authority regarding the waste level of the bins and the time to trash out the bins filled with garbage by using the ultrasonic sensors placed in each bin and the dual-band GSM-based communication technology. The entire system is controlled remotely through an android app in order to dump the separated waste in a desired place by its automation properties. The use of this system can aid the process of recycling resources that were initially destined to become waste, utilizing natural resources and turning these resources back into the usable products. Thus, the system helps to fulfill the criteria of circular economy through the resource optimization and extraction. Finally, the system is made to provide the services at a low cost with higher accuracy level in terms of the technological advancement in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We have got 98% accuracy for our ConvoWaste deep learning model. © 2023 IEEE.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) refers to a new information processing technology that achieves collaborative sensing and communication functions based on resource or information sharing between software and hardware. Wireless sensing technology is an important foundation for communication-aware sensing integration. This paper utilizes passive sensing technology, where the sensing nodes perceive and detect secondary users (SUs). The sensing nodes use the unitary transformation approximate message passing (UTAMP) algorithm to recover the received signal power sent by SUs, enabling detection of SUs. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm has good detection performance, and complexity analysis of this method is conducted. But as no other papers have previously researched similar methods, there are no comparison methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Against the size issue that DC motor controller uses multiple chips to implement, the chiplized effort is made based on FPGA in this paper. RISC-V ISA based HE203 (Hummingbird E203) is as the core, in which redundant peripherals are customized. Due to the lack of ADC in HE203, the ADC (analog-to-digital converter) module is added on the FPGA, and the corresponding software driver of the ADC module is developed to control the DC motor. Finally the closed-loop control of the motor is implemented. Work waveforms are simulated in terms of PWM pulses. The experiments show that there are correct control functions. © 2023 IEEE.

To maintain stable grid operations, system monitoring and control processes require the computation of grid states (e.g., voltage magnitude and angles) at high granularity. It is necessary to infer these grid states from measurements generated by a limited number of sensors like phasor measurement units (PMUs) that can be subjected to delays and losses due to channel artefacts, and/or adversarial attacks (e.g. denial of service, jamming, etc.). We propose a novel graph signal processing (GSP) based algorithm to interpolate states of the entire grid from observations of a small number of grid measurements. It is a two-stage process, where first an underlying Hermitian graph is learnt empirically from existing grid datasets offline. Then, the graph is used to interpolate missing grid signal samples online in linear time. With our proposal, we can reconstruct grid signals with significantly smaller number of observations when compared to traditional approaches (e.g. state estimation). In contrast to existing GSP approaches, we do not require knowledge of the underlying grid structure and parameters and are able to guarantee fast spectral optimization. We demonstrate the computational efficacy and accuracy of our proposal via practical studies conducted on the IEEE 118 bus system. © 2023 IEEE.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems have emerged as a reliable and non-destructive tool for subsurface object detection and characterization. In this paper, we present a comprehensive performance evaluation of two different stepped-frequency continuous wave (SFCW) GPR radars in application for detecting buried objects. Radars have the same structure, one is implemented on a single substrate with more than 300 elements and the second one is a modular implementation of radar using separately designed transmitter, receiver, and processing unit. The paper presents the design of both radars and their performances evaluation. The same TEM horn antennas were used for detecting subsurface objects using both these radars. The study focuses on two specific objects, an anti-tank mine and an anti-personal. The radar platforms have different output power and have different processing speeds, because they use different sets of electronic chips and FPGAs. The performance of GPR radars is assessed based on their ability to accurately detect and locate these objects. © 2023 IEEE.

In Monte-Carlo simulations, various types of random numbers are necessary for simulating various kinds of stochastic phenomena. Using one-dimensional chaotic maps, we can design statistical properties of the chaotic sequences, which implies that chaotic sequences may be useful for Monte-Carlo methods. In this paper, we examine auto-correlation properties of binary sequences obtained by switching two chaotic binary sequences generated by Bernoulli map. It is shown that binary sequences with various new types of auto-correlation properties can be generated. © 2023 IEEE.

The extended version of the induced pulsation attackis introduced through modeling and simulation, targeting a closed-loop-controlled architecture of a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor driven by a Kalman filter. Previously, the induced pulsations in the attack were created by a constant gradient linear function of the distortion coefficient employed by the attacker. In the updated version, the attack persists even when interruptions are introduced to the linear growth of the distortion function, followed by resetting it. The objective of the presented study isto assess the potential for enhancing the attack's effectiveness through this modification. The resulted findings confirm thattransforming the constant gradient linear function into a saw-tooth pattern leads to periodic repetitions of induced pulsations. Consequently, the attack can be extended indefinitely. Moreover,the attacker gains greater control over attack outcome by utilizing additional parameters introduced through the saw-like functionality, such as frequency and amplitude of saw-function. The study demonstrates two advantageous synchroniza-tion modes with the saw-function for the attacker: (1) modulatingcurrent, voltage, and angular speed in phase with the saw-function, providing a stronger attack but reduced covertness;(2) synchronizing current and voltage patterns with the first sub-harmonic of the saw-function while maintaining fundamental harmonic pace for angular speed modulation, resulting in improved covertness and consistent mechanical strains. Extended pulsation attack signatures collected in current, voltage, and angular speed domains aid in early detection through pattern recognition methods. © 2023 IEEE.
