Pb0.93La0.07(Zr0.3Ti0.7) 0.93O3 (PLZT7/30/70) thin films with and without a seeding layer of PbTiO3 (PT) were successfully deposited on indium-doped tin oxide coated glass substrate via a sol-gel process, and a top conducting SnO2 thin film is also sol-gel-derived. The thicknesses of PLZT and PT layer are 0.5 μm and 24nm, respectively. The retardance was enhanced by application of a seeding layer of PT and measured by a new developed heterodyne interferometer. The Pockels linear electro-optical coefficient of PLZT film with a PT layer was determined to be 3.17×10-9m/V when the refractive index is consider as 2.505, which is one order larger than 1.4×10-10m/V for PLZT12/40/60 reported in the literature. From the comparisons, the average transmittance of PLZT film with a PT seeding layer was 70.3%, higher than 62.9% in PLZT film. The rootmean-square roughness of PLZT thin film with a PT layer was determined just 6.87nm. Over all, experimental results implies that the addition of a PT seeding layer to PLZT film plays a significant role in the increase of retardance and then the PLZT film exists a higher Pockels coefficient.

The abstract presents a fully functional Ramsey-CPT atomic clock, which has the characteristics of compact structure, small volume, low cost, strong adaptability, high stability, convenient for adjustment, unique design, and easy-to-commercialization. The Ramsey-CPT atomic clock combines the method of separated oscillatory fields and the phenomenon of coherent population trapping, so as to obtain narrower line width and better signal-to-noise ratio of the resonance signal for improving the frequency stability. It not only keeps the advantages of miniaturization and low power of the CPT atomic clock, but also can obtain higher frequency stability than CPT atomic clock about one order of magnitude.

Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) can be a viable technology for CMPs (chip multi-processors) with thousands of processors. The QCA based reversible logic promises energy efficient design of the digital circuits. However, the requirement of excessive logic gates as well as its high defect rate limit the performance of a QCA based design. This work proposes a new approach to synthesize the reversible universal QCA logic gate (RUG) with the target to reduce the garbage outputs as well as the number of logic gates to realise a design simultaneously ensuring the defect tolerance. A concurrent error detection methodology is introduced to support the online testing of a circuit designed around the RUG. The experimental designs establish that the RUG can ensure an energy saving cost effective realization of testable QCA circuits.

In structured P2P overlay networks, nodes and objects are assigned unique IDs in the same identifier space by using a consistent hashing function, and have been known to result in an imbalance factor of O(log n), where n is the number of nodes in the systems. Further imbalance may become severely due to the heterogeneity of objects loads and nodes capacities, and dynamic of objects and nodes in practical P2P network environment. Aiming at the issue of load distribution unbalancing in large scale DHT network, a binary-tree hierarchical load balance model is presented in this paper. Our proposed load balance model organizes the system into a hierarchy of balancing domain, therefore, load balancing decision are based solely on information pertaining to those nodes within each domain, and thus load balancing is performed independently. In addition, because our load balancing scheme is built on the proximity-aware hypercube overlay network, therefore, the loads on the heavily nodes can be transferred to lightly loaded nodes in a proximity-aware fashion. Consequently, it provides rapid convergence on load balance and reduces the load transfer cost. Simulations show that our proposed scheme can balance the load of the nodes in proportion to their capacity, and reduced the load transfer cost in the heterogeneous and dynamic network state.

Retinex method mainly consists of two steps: estimation and normalization of illumination. How to extract the background illumination accurately is a key problem. The backgrounds of picture sequence in video's adjacent frames are usually similar and closely related. More accurate illumination information can be extracted when this characteristics of video's picture sequence is considered. In the paper, we propose an improved Retinex algorithm. Filter the images using the Gauss masks of different scale and parameter for each frame image, and all these filtering results are fused together by minimum method. In the paper, the scale of Gauss filters are set as 5, 9, 13, 25, and their variance set as 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 respectively. 6 adjacent frame images are selected, and the uniform and optical background image for these 6 images can be extracted by maximum method. This method makes use of the similarity and relationship among the adjacent frame images in videos. Enhance the images using Retinex method with this optical background image as their uniform illumination information. Experiment shows that more accurate back grounds are acquired and more excellent enhancement performance are achieved.

This paper presents an industrial temperature measuring and monitoring system, which is based on 89C51 single chip microcontroller, and details the comparison between Formula method and Look-up Table method whose new algorithm and high precision has been emphasized. The system can measure real-time industrial temperature, store historical data and display temperature in digital and curve diagram. MAX6675 is applied in temperature acquisition module, which simplifies the system design and improve measuring precision. The data analysis methods and circuit design are given in paper. It is proved that the design is stable, reliable, simple and durable.
