Retinex method mainly consists of two steps: estimation and normalization of illumination. How to extract the background illumination accurately is a key problem. The backgrounds of picture sequence in video's adjacent frames are usually similar and closely related. More accurate illumination information can be extracted when this characteristics of video's picture sequence is considered. In the paper, we propose an improved Retinex algorithm. Filter the images using the Gauss masks of different scale and parameter for each frame image, and all these filtering results are fused together by minimum method. In the paper, the scale of Gauss filters are set as 5, 9, 13, 25, and their variance set as 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0 respectively. 6 adjacent frame images are selected, and the uniform and optical background image for these 6 images can be extracted by maximum method. This method makes use of the similarity and relationship among the adjacent frame images in videos. Enhance the images using Retinex method with this optical background image as their uniform illumination information. Experiment shows that more accurate back grounds are acquired and more excellent enhancement performance are achieved.

This paper presents an industrial temperature measuring and monitoring system, which is based on 89C51 single chip microcontroller, and details the comparison between Formula method and Look-up Table method whose new algorithm and high precision has been emphasized. The system can measure real-time industrial temperature, store historical data and display temperature in digital and curve diagram. MAX6675 is applied in temperature acquisition module, which simplifies the system design and improve measuring precision. The data analysis methods and circuit design are given in paper. It is proved that the design is stable, reliable, simple and durable.

Prior works on the hidden terminal problem in wireless networks often assume that the SNR requirement and the transmission range in a networks are fixed. In fact they are rate dependent. Because of this assumption many of the prior conclusions about the hidden terminal are not accurate. A new analysis of the hidden terminal problem is presented in the paper. The new insights provided by the analysis lead to a IG-MAC scheme for tackling the hidden terminal problem in multi rate ad hoc networks. The key point is to model the interference information by means of Interference Graph and send busy tone with encoded communication information to prevent the potentially interfering nodes from initiating new transmissions. Through the simulations our protocol can solve the hidden terminals problem caused by 802.11 and improve the network performance substantially.

People's opinion collection and processing system (POCP) is the electronic petition system with the function of website, hot line, E-mail and short message service (SMS), which is developed for Fuzhou Municipal Committee in JiangXi province. With the increasing demands of government service quality, the number of opinions brought by the masses is also on the increase. Seeking effective means and classifying these opinions to carry out contrapuntally become a gradually urgent problem. Based on the characteristic that SMS can change into text, this paper presents a thought that text classification algorithm can be used in the technology of SMS processing. SMS will be classified to different fields by preprocessing, feature section and classifier. At last, the reliable bases to government decision-making will be provided contrapuntally by analyzing the field classification of opinions.

Discretization of continuous attributes is one of the important steps in preprocessing of data analysis. In this paper, a new method of supervised discretization of continuous attributes based on entropy and hierarchical clustering guiding by level of consistency of decision table is introduced. This method makes use of the concept of the level of consistency of decision table in Rough Sets. According to the level of consistency of the produced decision table, the number of hierarchical cluster is adjusted dynamically in the first step. And then in the second step, we merge adjacent region based on entropy without damaging the level of consistency. Experiments show that this method is feasible.

A simple and powerful approach to sort out Direct Mail to be delivered intelligently without artificial identification is proposed, which makes a breakthrough at the automatic fragments and sequencing points of mailing address. A series of rules are created on the analysis of the address characteristics to computerize its segmentations, provide their matching regulations to order mails intellectually, and even assess the reliability of sorting to reduce computer error as far as possible. The experiments indicate that the consequence is more accurate and spends much less time than traditional processes using large-scale sorting machine with zip code and manual labor picking.

In this paper, we have proposed a Human computer Interface, replacing all the basic mouse operations by simple laser beam operations controlled by a Laser Pen (LP) & tracked by the Laser Track Pad (LTP). This approach helps to overcome the limitations of the physically challenged people for interacting with the computer systems. The main emphasis of this work is on mapping the Display Units (DUs) of various resolutions with our fixed-resolution LTP. We have introduced an algorithm to solve the Intermediate Pixel Reachability problem with minimal movement of the laser beam on the LTP (i.e., also with minimal movement of the body part holding the laser pen). The potentiality and possibilities for future works are considered.

Service-oriented architecture and cloud computing have become the prevalent computing paradigm. In this paradigm, computing resources can be accessed like other utility services available in today's society. In the meantime, robotics applications are joining the trend. More and more robot applications are shifting from manufacture to non-manufacture and service industries. However, for the on-demand supply of the large-scale heterogeneous robots, It is still a problem have not yet been studied, including the fundamental management and efficiency issues in using of these resources. In this paper, we design a framework of "Robot Cloud Center" (RCC) following the general cloud computing paradigm to address the current limitations in capacity and versatility of robotic applications. In this framework, a robot can be provided as a service just like a public utility service so that everyone can access the powerful robotic services easily, efficiently, and cheaply. Based on a given scenario, a robot scheduling algorithm in RCC is proposed to take advantage of the heterogeneous robot resources to meet the end user's requirement with the minimum cost.
