The population of earthquake-prone areas is growing, as is the number of people killed and injured by earthquakes. The problem of the increasing number of populated regions that are vulnerable to earthquakes is being addressed by a shortage of experts in earthquake engineering. This implies the requirement for automated intelligence-monitored mitigation and warning systems. Predicting earthquakes is still a major problem for disaster management around the globe. The objective of this work is to build a machine learning (ML) approach that uses geographic coordinates (latitude, longitude) and elevation (height) as inputs to forecast earthquake magnitude. The estimated magnitude is used to classify the seismic risk level for a given site into high, low, or no risk categories using Richter's scale. The study offers a thorough analysis of the methodology, covering feature engineering, data collecting, preprocessing, and model construction. A variety of machine learning methods are investigated, and relevant measures are used to assess their effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

Agriculture stands as a linchpin for national prosperity, especially in regions blessed with abundant water and fertile soil, capable of yielding a diverse range of food products crucial for human sustenance. However, escalating global population and diminishing freshwater reserves pose significant challenges to sustainable agriculture. Approximately, 96% of Earth's water is saline, leaving a mere 3% as freshwater resources, intensifying the need for advanced techniques to conserve water in farming practices. This research addresses the pressing issue by proposing a solution rooted in smart agriculture, leveraging modern technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) to revolutionize conventional farming methods. The integration of automation and IoT technologies, such as the ESP8266 IoT automatic irrigation system, is presented as a means to enhance crop productivity. This system utilizes cutting-edge technologies like Arduino and wireless sensor networks, offering a comprehensive solution for monitoring environmental conditions crucial for maximizing crop yield. The paper underscores the paramount importance of connecting agriculture to the Internet, emphasizing the role of IoT in facilitating applications like crop monitoring and automated irrigation decisions. The proposed smart agriculture system, featuring energy autonomy and cost-effectiveness, aims to address persistent agricultural challenges that impede national development. The research introduces a novel approach to agriculture, offering a tangible pathway toward sustainable farming practices in the face of water scarcity and environmental uncertainties. Anomaly detection refers to recognition of events different from normal ones for example road accident, fight, robbery, arsenal etc. Anomaly identification in real world surveillance videos is an important application of computer vision. The work proposed in the paper detects anomalous events in surveillance videos dataset and is based upon semi supervised deep learning model. We trained the model using UCF Crime dataset that consists of 950 normal videos and 950 anomalous videos. The anomaly videos in the dataset consists of 13 different types of anomalies such as Abuse, arrest, explosion, fight etc. that generally occur in real life. The anomaly in the dataset is labelled at video level and not at a specific frame in a video to define the semi supervised nature of learning paradigm. The extracted 3D features from dataset are fed into the multilayered deep learning model. Experimental results show that our approach has significant improvement over state-of-the-art approaches for anomaly detection in surveillance videos. The accuracy of model comes out to be 83.96 percent, that is improvement over other methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Voice is one of the most widely used media for information transmission in human society. While high-quality synthetic voices are extensively utilized in various applications, they pose significant risks to content security and trust building. Numerous studies have concentrated on AI-synthesized voice detection to mitigate these risks, with many claiming to achieve promising performance. However, recent research has demonstrated that fake voice detectors suffer from serious overfitting to speaker-irrelative features (SiFs) and cannot be used in real-world scenarios. In this paper, we analyze the limitations of existing fake voice detectors and propose a new design philosophy, guiding the detection model to prioritize learning human voice features rather than the difference between the human voice and the synthetic voice. Based on this philosophy, we propose a novel AI-synthesized voice detection framework named SiFSafer, which uses pre-trained speech representation models to enhance the learning of feature distribution in human voices and the adapter fine-tuning to optimize the performance. The evaluation shows that the average EERs of existing fake voice detectors in the ASVspoof datasets can exceed 20% if the SiFs like silence segments are removed, while SiFSafer achieves an EER of less than 8%, indicating that SiFSafer is robust to SiFs and strongly resistant to existing attacks. © 2024 ACM.

Distributionally robust reinforcement learning (DRRL), often framed as a robust Markov decision process (RMDP), seeks to find a robust policy that achieves good performance under the worst-case scenario among all environments within a prespecified uncertainty set centered around the training environment. Unlike previous work, which relies on a generative model or a pre-collected offline dataset enjoying good coverage of the deployment environment, we tackle robust RL via interactive data collection, where the learner interacts with the training environment only and refines the policy through trial and error. In this robust RL paradigm, two main challenges emerge: managing the distributional robustness while striking a balance between exploration and exploitation during data collection. Initially, we establish that sample-efficient learning without additional assumptions is unattainable owing to the curse of support shift;i.e., the potential disjointedness of the distributional supports between training and testing environments. To circumvent such a hardness result, we introduce the vanishing minimal value assumption to RMDPs with a total-variation distance robust set, postulating that the minimal value of the optimal robust value function is zero. Such an assumption effectively eliminates the support shift issue for RMDPs with a TV distance robust set, and we present an algorithm with a provable sample complexity guarantee. Our work makes the initial step to uncovering the inherent difficulty of robust RL via interactive data collection and sufficient conditions for sample-efficient algorithms with sharp sample complexity. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Reliable Entropy-Induced Anchor Learning for Incomplete Multi-View Subspace Clustering

Under large-scale data with missing views, fast incomplete multi-view clustering (IMVC) with anchor learning is of critical importance due to its linear complexity O(n). However, existing anchor-based methods only explore the column orthogonality of anchor points, where their arbitrary column orthogonal basis vectors have weak constraint relationships with real samples and significant deviations from more representative anchors, thereby impeding the precise representation of sample similarities. To solve this issue, we propose a Reliable Entropy-induced anchor learning for incomplete Multi-view subspace Clustering (REMC), which performs an entropy approximation term to learn more representative anchors, and we prove that the information entropy minimization can be relaxed into the 2,1-norm paradigm. Specifically, the proposed REMC first integrates anchor learning and subspace clustering to produce multiple view-specific bipartite graphs and capture the high-order correlations by imposing these bipartite graphs with the tensor nuclear norm. Then, we fuse all the view-specific bipartite graphs to build a consensus bipartite graph with entropy approximation regularization, and hence the proposed REMC can produce a more discriminative similarity graph, preserving each non-zero element in its column close to 1, while the other elements are approaching 0. Besides, an efficient algorithm is designed to solve the proposed REMC. Numerous results show the superior performance of our method on both the complete and incomplete data. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are wireless networks that are self-configuring, infrastructure-less, and dynamic. The nodes in these networks have limited access to available resources. MANETs use intrusion detection systems, also known as IDS, to monitor activities in order to identify any potential intrusions into the network, which would otherwise be vulnerable. In this study, we offer efficient techniques for maximizing the length of time that intrusion detection systems need to be active in a mobile ad hoc network and monitoring how much time they need to be active for. The dissemination of a probabilistic model that makes use of neighborhood node IDS collaboration in order to reduce the amount of individual active time. In order to monitor network activities, an IDS often needs to be running nonstop on every node. In terms of electricity and processing resources, this could end up being a costly overhead for a mobile device that runs on batteries. We therefore want to shorten the IDSs' active time in this work without sacrificing their effectiveness. We simulate the interactions between IDSs as a multiplayer cooperative game with partially cooperative and partially opposing aims in order to validate our suggested methodology. We investigate this game theoretically and provide evidence from simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

With the recent advent of technology, social networks are accessible 24/7 using mobile devices. During covid-19 pandemic the propagation of misinformation are mostly related to the disease, its cures and prevention. With Twitter as the medium this information was spreaded to millions of people who lack domain specific knowledge. This can lead to bloster fear and direct damage to the people. This research focuses on identifying the veracity of the Twitter posts behind pandemic situation. The authors have proposed a Transformer Model using Bat Algorithm for identifying the fake news. This model is trained and evaluated using infodemic metadata. Our experimental results shows by which proposed model accurately detected the fake news and achieved 96.5% of f1-score. © 2024 IEEE.

Graph convolutional network(GCN)as an essential tool in human action recognition tasks have achieved excellent performance in previous ***,most current skeleton-based action recognition using GCN methods use a shared topology,which cannot flexibly adapt to the diverse correlations between joints under different motion *** video-shooting angle or the occlusion of the body parts may bring about errors when extracting the human pose coordinates with estimation *** this work,we propose a novel graph convolutional learning framework,called PCCTR-GCN,which integrates pose correction and channel topology refinement for skeleton-based human action ***,a pose correction module(PCM)is introduced,which corrects the pose coordinates of the input network to reduce the error in pose feature ***,channel topology refinement graph convolution(CTR-GC)is employed,which can dynamically learn the topology features and aggregate joint features in different channel dimensions so as to enhance the performance of graph convolution networks in feature ***,considering that the joint stream and bone stream of skeleton data and their dynamic information are also important for distinguishing different actions,we employ a multi-stream data fusion approach to improve the network’s recognition *** evaluate the model using top-1 and top-5 classification *** the benchmark datasets iMiGUE and Kinetics,the top-1 classification accuracy reaches 55.08%and 36.5%,respectively,while the top-5 classification accuracy reaches 89.98%and 59.2%,*** the NTU dataset,for the two benchmark RGB+Dsettings(X-Sub and X-View),the classification accuracy achieves 89.7%and 95.4%,respectively.
