Reduced alertness because of fatigue or drowsiness accounts for a major cause of road accidents globally. To minimize the likelihood of alertness reduction-related crashes, a video-based detection emerges as a non-intrusive method and can offer high accuracy for the countermeasure development. Many Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques have been developed to aid in video analysis for fatigue detection. However, the issues in AI-based video analysis for fatigue countermeasure development are rarely discussed. This paper reviews current video-based countermeasure development in the literature and highlights some reliability issues of AI-based fatigue countermeasure development in terms of underlying dataset, labelling method, and alertness level classification. The result serves as insights and consideration to academics and industrialists in developing a high reliable AI-based video analysis for driver fatigue countermeasure. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

The projected increase in PayLater utilization reaches up to five million people by 2025. To optimize the yearly profit from their PayLater service, fintech companies must examine all possible risks before a unanimous decision is taken. Therefore, we proposed a unified decision framework derived from decision theory and the Monte Carlo simulation technique. Two schemes were coined: (1) a decision-making scheme, and (2) a risk simulation scheme. Throughout experiments, the framework was able to estimate several alternative decisions and their impacts, analyze the causes of failure and delays in the development of the PayLater service, and execute Monte Carlo simulations in up to 10,000 trials. Outputs of this study will benefit decision-makers in the fintech initiative before launching their PayLater products. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Gamification nowadays is being one of techniques that can increase motivation and encourage the involvement of users, particularly in education domain that requires teaching and learning activities to be more fun and interesting. This paper surveys some analysis of gamification models. MDA framework is used to identify surveyed papers by breaking them down into three categories: mechanics, dynamics and aesthetics. Findings from the survey show there are many gamification models in education domain. However, there are some very representative gamification models could be used as a method to increase motivation, achievement and engagement in learning activities. By knowing the latest gamification models in education domain stated in this paper, it could help gamification practitioners to make new strategies in learning activities to increase students' motivation, achievement and involvement. We also suggest some gamification strategies, which combine several mechanics in such a way to create dynamics that results in all types of aesthetics outputs. © 2018 The Authors. The use of instant messaging (IM) application is very communal among smartphone users, as it delivers ease in interaction and communication. The speed at which technologies, growth, and expansion of networks infrastructure for high-speed data networks (e.g. wifi, 4G, etc.) are changing and the high number of IM applications are available. IM application usage is significantly escalating, also for doing illegitimate purposes, particularly to organize and coordinate criminal acts. They are practically exploited by the criminality groups involved when they target and interact with the victims, or try to run away from criminal occurrences. By systematically conducting a review to understand and to investigate IM applications topic coming from a number of scientific sources (e.g. manuscripts, metadata, files, etc.), a broader picture and opportunity to regain the valuable evidence in the investigation is academically provided. © 2018 IEEE.

The rise of mobile application is inevitable. Every year, the number of mobile application is increased. It is important for mobile application project owners to calculate the required resources before building a mobile application. In software metric, Use Case Points method is able to count software size of mobile application based on their functionality. This method utilizes use case diagram as their computation factors in the estimation process. Moreover, two other complexity factors are also considered in this method, which are: Technical Complexity Factor and Environment Factor. In this paper, we present software size calculation of QuestDone Mobile Application using 7 steps use case points method. QuestDone has been implemented, but we do not know its software size (i.e. how big the software, how much it cost, how many people is needed). As the result from use case points method, the Use Case Points value of QuestDone is 126.88 with Effort Estimation equal to 889 hours. The software size estimation process of QuestDone Mobile Application detailed in this paper can give an insight to project owners to count software size of other similar projects. © 2017 IEEE.

A packet routing technique based on least delay path through measurements of packet rate and length is proposed in this paper. The measurements accquired at each node are used to estimate the delay of the packets and compare to a pre-established delay threshold. If the delay is greater than the pre-established value, new paths of lower delay are established through the Dijkstra algorithm. The proposed algorithm is tested for several values of delay thresholds and intervals of measurements to define the appropriate parameters of better performance. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared to two other algorithms in two different network topologies. The algorithms compared are shortest path routing algorithm and the least delay algorithm based on packet counting. The two network topologies have relative complexity, one containing 56 nodes and the other containing 40 nodes. For the tested conditions, the simulation results show that the performance of proposed algorithm is better than two algorithms compared in terms of packet delay. © 2018 University of Split, FESB.

In Indonesia, owing to limited quota, Hajj pilgrim determination to go to Mecca is a challenging activity to realistically do. The registered candidates of Hajj pilgrim cannot become Hajj pilgrims all 100%, several of them have to wait in list until years. Based on scientific view, this study was conducted. The objective of study is to construct a computer model based on optimization conception to objectively clarify the current-year Hajj pilgrims. By methodically employing the hill-climbing (HC) method in optimizing process and also applying fuzzy-logic concept in parameterizing parameters, a scheme of 'double-stages fuzzy hill climbing (FHC) optimization' was constructed. Through bearing in mind seven selected parameters, the Hajj pilgrims in restricted quota were determined. The paper provides the detailed configuration of an optimization schema and constructed model. It also delivers the constructed model's simulation result regarding the determined 155,200 Hajj pilgrims (according to 2016 Indonesia Hajj pilgrim quota) for 33 Indonesias provinces from more than 220 thousand dummy (experimental) data of Hajj pilgrim candidates. © 2019 IEEE.

This article describes the architecture of software services that provide registration of small boat data to build maritime safety. The proposed system architecture which so-called SIMKAPEL aims to support small boat registration for maritime safety. It is developed from a conventional service-oriented architecture (SOA) with an open standard for data interoperability between elements. The goal of this research is to implement and evaluate the proposed architecture to support small boat registration and e-certification. Several parts of the architecture have been implemented as a platform that provides core services and data sources to be used by Ministry of Transportation, Directorate General of Sea Transportation, and other government agencies. Finally, the proposed SIMKAPEL platform with the SOA architecture is evaluated for its benefits to users through the expert opinion survey to measure its efficiency. The analysis results showed that SOA-based SIMKAPEL is feasible to use as a boat e-certification system. Furthermore, experiment results provide three parameters (e.g., maritime safety, namely, cargo/passengers, boat safety facilities, and maritime safety systems) with efficiency values of 42%, 46%, and 42%, respectively. The parameter with the highest efficiency shows a big effect on the level of safety of the boat and passengers. Thus, the parameters that need to be prioritized and need boat owners’ attention are cargo/passenger, boat safety equipment, and maritime safety system. © 2023, The Author(s).

Finding parking slot inside packed parking area can be frustrating sometimes. Multiple cars chasing single parking space phenomenon often happens, and numbers of cars wasting vehicle distance without knowing where to go, and hopefully found empty parking slot, or a car that about to leave the occupied parking slot. This study will focus to increase IoT environment functionality on parking area with the help of A∗ path finding algorithm to accurately pinpoint driver to vacant parking slot, determined by nearest building entrance, and remotely reserved the parking slot prior when the vehicle got the parking ticket. In this study we also discuss about few possible scenarios, further discuss about the sensors, and the system architecture. © 2021 IEEE.

CMK company is a retail company that sell and distributes miniature vehicle items to small stores. CMK has several branches in various countries that use for operational and storage warehouse. This company faces the problem for analysing sales to decide the useful strategy since this company only uses Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) database. This study implements Online Analysis Processing (OLAP) database and data warehouse to provide useful information for this company by using the nine-step method designed by Kimball & Ross. The data will be performed into dashboard to make easier for CMK Company to analyze data. Furthermore, many useful information can be provided in short and efficient time. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.
