Sleep is the natural state of relaxation for human being. Sleep quality is an essential yet frequently neglected aspect of sleep in general. Sleep quality is essential because it allows the body to restore itself and prepare for the next day. The standard method for evaluating sleep quality was subjective evaluation. Actigraphy devices, which can measure the sleep cycle, are now widely available. This study developed a method using Fuzzy Logic and an actigraphy device to measure and classify sleep quality. The fuzzy logic method was developed in several stages, which are determining the sleep quality measurement parameters, constructing the fuzzy set for each input variable, and developing the fuzzy rules. To evaluate the proposed fuzzy model, five individuals were invited to participate in the experiment and required to complete the PSQI subjective sleep questionnaire. The evaluation result shows that our proposed Fuzzy model achieves lower error compared to the existing method. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Following the evolution of technology, researchers have conducted several studies to propose reliable scholarship recommender systems. However, few have explored the data storage systems, which are highly beneficial to collect huge volumes of real data in training the recommender systems. In this paper, a database design for collecting such data was proposed, equipped with integer encodings for categorical variables and a method to normalize variables with varying ranges. Using Connoly and Begg's database design method, the final design consisted of a normalized Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and data dictionaries. The design was also constructed to support usages of various data for determining scholarship recipients, including education history, achievements, and organizational experiences. The proposed design can be implemented on information systems to allow easier information access for scholarships in Indonesia. © 2022 IEEE.

Supplier evaluation has a crucial role in maintaining efficiency in the food industry supply chain. Machine learning approaches can be employed to formulate models aimed at analyzing and evaluating supplier performance. Previous research has successfully designed decision tree and neural network models for assessing suppliers in the food industry with accuracies of 84.2% and 92.8% separately. Recognizing the opportunity to improve the model's performance, this study aims to advancing the machine learning models accuracy for analyzing and evaluating suppliers in the food industry. Two main models are proposed to enhance model accuracy: ensemble methods and support vector machine. This research has successfully designed a supplier evaluation model and demonstrated that the ensemble method - gradient boosting model outperforms other ensemble methods and support vector machine which is achieved a accuracy of 93.6% on a cross-validation dataset. The development of a dashboard is required to implement the supplier evaluation model using machine learning, facilitating decision-makers in evaluating and controlling supplier performance. © 2023 The Authors. A road traffic engineering (RTE) is realistically required to reduce the road traffic congestion (RTC) degree. The congestion negatively affects not only to economy and physiology factors, but also for human environment and health. This paper methodologically represents the development of ecological decision support system based on the concept of fuzzy logic (Fuzzy ecoDSS) for RTE. Three types of core method operated here;fuzzy logic, water flow algorithm (WFA), and object oriented. The method fuzzy logic used to avoid the fuzziness in parameterizing and prioritize the parameters. The WFA approach functioned to replicate the flow of road traffic and optimize it thru RTE. Finally, the method object oriented benefited to analyze and design the constructed system. Thus, the simulation result exhibits the best decision alternative taken gives better air condition (more 200% than normal condition) and better road traffic velocity (more 2,200% than normal situation). © 2018 IEEE.

In offshore aquaculture operations, personnel equipped with diving gear are often necessary to inspect the underwater net cages for damage, particularly on the sea floor. This manual inspection process is time-consuming and complex. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a computer vision solution for identifying damage in underwater net cages to address the inefficiencies and challenges of traditional manual inspections. The proposed scheme utilizes a high-performance multi-branch computational architecture designed based on ShuffleNet architecture to detect net cage damage more efficiently. Experimental results demonstrate that this work performs well on the ImageNet ILSVRC-2010 dataset and achieves an accuracy of 88.54% in underwater net damage detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Stock prices prediction is one of the most daunting tasks to achieve for day traders, investors, and data scientists. They are complex functions of a wide array of contributing factors that affects the movement dynamics. Politics, social outlook, the company's sales performance, and socio-economic factors all have an influence of how the stock is perceived globally and thus affecting the price movement based on the supply/demand balance. In this work a Framework is proposed to predict the price and movement direction by using multiple datasets that includes news sentiment, social sentiment, company earnings announcement, and technical indicators. A case study was applied on the Apple Inc. stock using Long short-term Memory Neural Networks (LSTM) and Deep Neural Networks (DNN). Results showed superiority of the LSTM model in both predicting stock value [75.4 MSE, +-2.52 PE] and the direction with [70.1% classification accuracy] over the DNN model which suffered from prediction lag and dependency on trend indicators achieving [53.1%] in predicting the direction of the stock. © 2020 IEEE.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of social distance on people during COVID-19 pandemic using twitter sentiment analysis through a comparison between the k-means clustering and Mini-Batch k-means clustering approaches. To find the most common frequent words, two datasets have been investigated (WHO and Bahrain ministry of health datasets) to be as data preparation and exploration. Another two datasets (English and Arabic datasets) are used in the clustering of k-means. In this paper, a comparison between k-means and Mini-Batch k-means is performed to find a pattern. The word frequency shows that there are several words related to the pandemic. The sentiment analysis result show that in USA, Australia, Nigeria, Canada, and England, most tweets are neutral. However, the majority of tweets are positive tweets from both Italy and India. In addition, the k-means cluster in the English dataset reveals several cluster trends where COVID-19 pandemic procedures are addressed in cluster 1, and health workers are encouraged in cluster 3. © 2020 IEEE.

Examining topic-level variability in modeling Twitter data can potentially yield more comprehensive insights into public perception during critical periods, thereby enhancing natural disaster mitigation and surveillance efforts. In this study, we utilized generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs) to illustrate the variability in tweet counts related to specific topics in Indonesia during the flood events that occurred in February 2021. The glmmTMB library in R was employed for this purpose. The data were assumed to follow two distinct exponential distributions: Poisson and Negative Binomial. To incorporate random effects, random intercepts and random slopes were introduced, allowing them to vary randomly across topics in the initial two models. Additionally, the final model addressed issues related to dispersion and zero-inflation. By evaluating the Akaike Information Criteria scores, we determined that a model based on the Negative Binomial distribution with random zero-inflation intercepts best fit the data. The chosen model formulation and the estimated parameters have the potential to forecast topic-specific trends in Indonesian flood-related Twitter data. © 2023 The Authors. Classification of Indonesian crops is a critical task in developing farming and getting more understanding of agriculture. However, there is no clear task in classifying types of crops in Indonesia. Transfer learning has been used successfully in a variety of image classification applications. Thus, in this paper, we collected images of Indonesian crops from the internet randomly and proposed a classification by using transfer learning of deep learning with four pre-trained models: EffficientNetB0, ResNet18, VGG19, and AlexNet. In the experiment, augmentation techniques such as random horizontal flip, random vertical flip, and random affine were utilized to prevent the network from overfitting. The result found that EfficientNet-B0 outperformed other models with an accuracy of 82.55. Then, the model struggled to distinguish between crops in the same family. According to the results, although transfer learning can work well to classify images of Indonesian agricultural crops, some improvements are still required to address existing issues. © 2023 The Authors. Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.
