Lip-reading is a method that focuses on the observation and interpretation of lip movements to understand spoken language. Previous studies have exclusively concentrated on a single variation of residual networks (ResNets). This study primarily aimed to conduct a comparative analysis of several types of ResNets. This study additionally calculates metrics for several word structures included in the GRID dataset, encompassing verbs, colors, prepositions, letters, and numerals. This component has not been previously investigated in other studies. The proposed approach encompasses several stages, namely pre-processing, which involves face detection and mouth location, feature extraction, and classification. The architecture for feature extraction comprises a 3-dimensional convolutional neural network (3D-CNN) integrated with ResNets. The management of temporal sequences during the classification phase is accomplished through the utilization of the bidirectional gated recurrent units (Bi-GRU) model. The experimental results demonstrated a character error rate (CER) of 14.09% and a word error rate (WER) of 28.51%. The combination of 3D-CNN ResNet-34 and Bi-GRU yielded superior outcomes in comparison to ResNet-18 and ResNet-50. The correlation between increased network depth and enhanced performance in lip-reading models was not consistently observed. Nevertheless, the incorporation of additional trained parameters offers certain benefits. Moreover, it has demonstrated superior levels of precision in comparison to human professionals in the task of distinguishing diverse word structures. © Authors retain all copyrights.

Channa striata or the striped snakehead fish is one of snakehead fish species which inhabits all types of freshwater bodies distributed across Asian countries. Because this fish is known to have higher albumin fraction (64.61%) of protein and other economic values, domestication, and cultivation of this fish has been done in many Asian countries such as Indonesia, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and India. Environmental factors such as temperature, water pH, dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, and turbidity are important parameters must be considered inbreeding and growing this type of fish. The aim of this paper is to propose an IoT solution to automatically monitor these environmental factors. It is designed with affordable and open-source electrical components to provide a cost-efficient solution for farmers. Five sensors are used to measure each parameter. A web application prototype is also presented as a companion application for the users to get useful information from the IoT device. It is developed using a Pythonframework. By accessing this web application, the users can immediately detect any abnormal conditions of the pond. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

NoSQL database has gained popularity in Big Data and other various applications for its simplicity and flexibility. The non-relational nature of NoSQL database such as MongoDB proves to improve development lifecycles and resources efficiency. However, security challenges arise along with increasing usage of NoSQL database, and NoSQL database is no exception to injection attacks. Machine learning proved to be an efficient method, as much has been researched. However, in the future there may be an increasing complexity of features that may prove costly to the model’s performance. Therefore, this research aims to utilize principal component analysis as dimensionality reduction and deep neural network as the classification method, to improve the security of NoSQL database. The text query is converted to feature vectors then further processed to reduce the input dimension of the deep neural network using PCA. The features used are based on previous research and various sources, and some are added after analyzing the dataset.10-fold cross validation is also applied to ensure that the model does not overfit the data, attempting to reduce bias to the result. The 10-fold cross validation model accuracy result is in average 97.44% with a standard deviation of 1.7%, and the testing results are 97.5% in accuracy,95.65% in precision, 91.67% in recall, and 93.61% in F1 score. Thus, it can be concluded that the usage of PCA on injection feature vectors can reduce complexity of the model.

Sign Language Recognition is a breakthrough for helping deaf-mute people and has been researched for many years. Unfortunately, every research has its own limitations and are still unable to be used commercially. Some of the researches have known to be successful for recognizing sign language, but require an expensive cost to be commercialized. Nowadays, researchers have gotten more attention for developing Sign Language Recognition that can be used commercially. Researchers do their researches in various ways. It starts from the data acquisition methods. The data acquisition method varies because of the cost needed for a good device, but cheap method is needed for the Sign Language Recognition System to be commercialized. The methods used in developing Sign Language Recognition are also varied between researchers. Each method has its own strength compare to other methods and researchers are still using different methods in developing their own Sign Language Recognition. Each method also has its own limitations compared to other methods. The aim of this paper is to review the sign language recognition approaches and find the best method that has been used by researchers. Hence other researchers can get more information about the methods used and could develop better Sign Language Application Systems in the future.

Disaster is one of the most important researches because every country in the world has their own disaster potential. Disaster assessment improves over time due to technological and information advancements;and it is very reliant to a long period of data record. Disaster information is already available online in various websites, and is presented in form of map, data, video and multimedia contents. Each country has different disaster information standards, the Web Usability and quality of disaster-related content. This research objective is to find good model WEBUSE and quality content both national and international disaster website. National disaster website includes: Geospatial Information Agency (Badan Informasi Geospasial/BIG), Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika/BMKG), National Disaster Management Authority (Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana/BNPB);while international website includes: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and United States Geological Survey (USGS). Usability comparison method uses the WEBUSE questionnaire with 4 categories, content organization and readability, navigation and links, user interface design, and performance and effectiveness;while the disaster-related content quality is measured using scoring method, with 4 categories, the geospatial information, data quality, product, and accessibility, according to United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). The usability level analysis for all 5 websites are classified as "good", with USGS achieving the highest score of 0.703. As for the disaster-related quality content analysis result, USGS fulfills all categories. © The Authors, published by EDP sciences, 2019.

The development of the increasingly advanced business world will certainly always be related to technological developments, especially in the current 4.0 era. In Indonesia, there are various types of companies such as services, manufacturing, food, and others. The development of the company will cause more and more complex transactions. It is very unlikely that the company has to record all forms of operations with a manual system, especially for large companies with so much data that they need a system to help process data quickly so that all transactions can be processed into reliable information. complete and accurate so that the company's goals can be realized. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of accurate accounting software for recording sales reports in one of the companies that engaged in food & beverage, namely Bliss Kitchen. The research that the writer did used is a quantitative approach with a survey method. This study finds that Accurate software that applied in Bliss kitchen is effective. Evidence shows the results of the questionnaire from Bliss Kitchen employees is positive about Accurate. © 2021 ACM.

In the high-performance computing domain, Field programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is a novel accelerator that exhibits high flexibility and performance characteristics distinct from other accelerators such as the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Recent advanced high-end FPGA is equipped with multiple channels of high speed optical link up to 100Gbps performance for each. This is a crucial feature when we construct PC clusters with FPGAs as accelerators, however it is not easy to utilize from user kernels because this feature is implemented in low level and simple direct communication between neighboring FPGAs. In order to provide the communication feature between FPGAs for accelerated PC clusters, we developed a communication system named CIRCUS which implies a user-friendly API from OpenCL and is equipped with routing function over multi-hop communication on multi-dimensional torus network of FPGAs. However, current CIRCUS only provides a point-to-point communication between source and destination FPGAs. In ordinary parallel processing environment such as MPI, the user program the message passing with various collective communication functions for parallel algorithm, for instance Allreduce, Allgather, etc. In this paper, we implement the collective communication function over CIRCUS for user-friendly programming of ordinary parallel algorithms on FPGAs. As the first target, we implement Allreduce function which is the most essential and important function. The paper describes the CIRCUS system briefly followed by the design, implementation and preliminary performance evaluation on Intel Stratix10 FPGAs. © 2023 ACM.

Learning history means to learn what caused the world around us to become the way it is right now. For decades, historical events were recorded and taught to younger generations to learn from them. However, most students found that learning history is boring because they could not feel or understand the moment of those historical events. This paper aims to investigate how a game-based learning approach influences the achievement and motivation of historical learning through a mobile learning environment. We propose game-based historical learning using the role-playing game on a mobile platform. The implementation is based on the history of the first army general in Indonesia, General Sudirman. The game was tested to 63 Junior High School students in Jakarta. Based on the evaluation, using the game can increase student learning motivation and learning achievement.

The growing focus on microcredentials emphasizes the urgent need for precise and widely accepted definitions, as existing uncertainties hinder their effective implementation. This research aims to investigate the comprehension of microcredentials definitions in the context of higher education by conducting a systematic literature review. The goal is to identify current definitions of microcredentials to facilitate standardization initiatives. Following The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to systematically search in Scopus database within 2019-2024 resulting 940 articles, by removing the duplicates, 280 articles were initially reviewed, with 29 selected for detailed thematic analysis based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. By adapting the six phases of thematic analysis, selected articles were identified analyzed, organized, described, and themes found the data set were reported. Key findings reveal that, while a universally accepted definition is lacking, common themes emerge: microcredentials are competency-based, modular, portable, stackable, and often include quality assurance. These attributes highlight microcredentials as valuable for upskilling and reskilling in a flexible manner. The study concludes that establishing standard definitions can increase the recognition and utility of microcredentials across educational and professional sectors and recommends further research to strengthen core elements for consistency. © 2024 IEEE.

Functional and non-functional requirements are equally important in software engineering. Both of them are mixed together within the same software requirement document. Usually, they are expressed in natural languages. So, a lot of human effort is required to classify them. Software requirements classification is a challenging task. Requirements classification can help developers to deliver quality software that meets users' expectations completely. In this paper, we present a Semi-Automated classification approach of Arabic functional and non-functional requirements using a natural language processing (NLP) tool. We propose a set of heuristics based on basic constructs of Arabic sentences in order to extract information from Arabic software requirements to classify the requirements into functional and non-functional requirements. This research aims to help software engineers by reducing the cost and time required in performing manual classification of software requirements. © 2021 IEEE.
