This study evaluates the performance of the REAL-ESRGAN [1] model on images with varying levels of degradation using the DIV2K dataset [2], such as the Wild, the Mild, the Difficult, and the x8 subsets. REAL-ESRGAN was created to solve super-resolution problems and aims to produce high-resolution images from low-resolution images. Experiments were conducted at scales of x2 and x4, and performance was measured using Full-Reference metrics (LPIPS, PSNR, SSIM) and No-Reference metrics (NIQE, MANIQA, CLIPIQA, and PI). The Results were good, especially with the x2 scale;it has higher PSNR and SSIM scores, lower LPIPS and NIQE values, and enhanced visual and perceptual quality. The model faced more significant challenges with the wild and the difficult datasets because they have more complex degradations and compression artifacts;it can be seen with unstable results of Full-Reference and No-Reference metrics. On the contrary, the Mild and x8 datasets yielded better results in both metrics;not only that, even the computational cost for Mild and x8 outperforms the rest of the dataset. This study shows the strengths and limitations of REAL-ESRGAN in handling different levels of image degradation. For future research, the model needs enhancement to tackle the degradation format of the wild and the difficult dataset. It would be good if the REAL-ESRGAN improvement could also maintain the computational cost. © 2024 IEEE.

Trees are one of the most important living things on the planet. Trees help by being one of the largest producers' oxygens on planet, by absorbing groundwater and by maintaining soil fertility. Trees can also be one of the keys to reducing existing air pollution. Therefore, the number of existing trees must be maintained. The first step in maintaining the number of existing trees is to count or map them. One of the easiest ways is to do this use an algorithm. This study uses a tree-counting algorithm called Deep Forest. Deep Forest is a Python package that can detect trees through RGB satellite imagery. This study used satellite imagery from Pleiades on an area in Kulon Progo district, Yogyakarta, Indonesia for the image-one of the four regencies within Yogyakarta Province in Indonesia. In addition to the Deep Forest algorithm, this research also used an application provided by Esri called ArcGIS Pro. With this application, data preprocessing such as labeling the data and creating the deep learning dataset for research is much easier, while ArcGIS Pro provides tools for labeling and exporting the data to jupyter notebook. The result obtained using the Deep Forest algorithm is the F1 score with an accuracy of 0.76 for the first experiment, 0.774 for the second experiment, and 0.779 for the final experiment. © 2024 IEEE.

The ability to differentiate various products in the retail store plays an essential role to provide effectiveness to customers and reduce or even eliminate long queues. However, traditional machine learning algorithms are incapable of recognizing many subordinate categories in various retail product. This paper aims to recognize the retail product recognition algorithm based on the YOLOv7 model in terms of intra-class variations, with the sub-categories of brand and size. We used two schemes of the dataset to compare recognition performance between them. Firstly, the YOLOv7 is applied in the two schemes of the dataset that is annotated with the subordinate category to detect the brand as meta category. Secondly, the proposed method is applied by adding the object size classification into the YOLOv7 model where the square area of the bounding box was calculated to classify the product according to size. Confidence score and square area are used to verify the object and to obtain the product size, which represents sub-category of the product. The experimental results show that our proposed method achieves higher recall compared to baseline object detection. © 2023 IEEE.

This study examines the necessity of employing BERT2GPT for single-document summarization in the current age of escalating digital data. The primary focus of this work is on the abstractive technique, which tries to generate versatile summaries that surpass the primary sentences of the original content. This study employs two models, namely BERT and GPT -2, for the purpose of the summarization system. The paper introduces the BERT2GPT model, which merges the bidirectional characteristics of BERT with the generative powers of GPT. The findings indicate that the BERT2GPT method successfully catches significant information and linguistic nuances, hence enhancing the quality of the generated summaries. The corresponding average values for Rl, R2, and RL are 0.62, 0.56, and 0.60, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

The advancements in technology during the 20th century resulted in the onset of the digital computer era. This study investigates the relative importance of earlier algorithms in comparison to more recent ones. Various research projects suggest improving vectorization by combining conventional and modern techniques, while others suggest optimizing it through algorithmic methods. This study primarily focuses on employing Bayesian optimization to optimize hyperparameters, hence improving the performance evaluation of TF-IDF FastText sentiment classification models. This study presented four models: the initial model utilized FastText with a preprocessing step that involved removing stopwords, the second model employed Fast-Text without any optimization using Bayesian optimization, the third model utilized FastText with optimization using Bayesian optimization, and the fourth model combined FastText with TF-IDF and was further optimized using Bayesian optimization. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) technique will be employed to evaluate all of the models. The findings suggest that the model's performance stays unchanged when stopwords are eliminated (Precision, Recall, F1: 0.9007). The model demonstrates a slight enhancement through the utilization of Bayesian optimization, resulting in a 0.02% increase, reaching a final accuracy of 0.9019%. Bayesian optimization is frequently employed to improve performance. The performance of Bayesian optimization is affected by the magnitude of the learning rate, and models that do not utilize Bayesian optimization demonstrate inferior performance. Both the TF-IDF FasText model and FastText model yielded comparable outcomes, attaining an F1 score of 0.9019 after being tuned by Bayesian optimization. © 2023 IEEE.

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze what has been done by previous studies in knowing the problems faced by SMEs today and how the influence of Industry 4.0 technology in dealing with problems in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), so that they become developed and can maintain their business continuity. Most studies show that SMEs have considerable barriers when trying to use the potential of Industry 4.0 to improve the competitiveness and long-term sustain ability of their business. This systematic literature review uses the Kitchenham technique to identify SME problems and the role of Industry 4.0 technologies in SMEs in various industrialized and developing countries. Through several databases including: IEEE, science Direct, Web of science, Taylor & Francis, Emerald and Springer between 2019 - 2023 were used to find relevant research articles in this study. The research findings offer valuable perspectives on the strategies, obstacles and prospects that SMEs in different countries face in adjusting to Industry 4.0. The contribution of academics in this research is to provide solutions by designing more robust approaches to promote the business sustainability of SMEs and their role in driving economic progress in their countries. © 2023 IEEE.

Global trading is undergoing significant changes, necessitating modifications to the trading strategies. This study presents a newly developed cloud-based trading strategy that uses Amazon Web Services (AWS), machine learning (ML), and data science to automate trading tasks. The study begins by creating a machine learning trading strategy using a customized deep neural network (DNN). The strategy was then tested using a trading station before deployment on a cloud machine. The execution of the strategy resulted in a total profit of 42.74526 USD, with a test accuracy score of 87.45% and a training accuracy score of 89.15% over 6047 epochs. The roadmap provides a step-by-step overview of the entire process from strategy development to execution. In addition, this study offers insights into related issues and solutions that can enhance the effectiveness of trading strategies. Overall, this study contributes significantly to the field of cloud-based trading strategies and opens avenues for future research. © 2013 IEEE.

In real life, many activities are performed sequentially. These activities must be carried out sequentially, such as the assembly process in the manufacturing production process. This series of activities cannot be reduced or added so that the main goal of the series of activities is achieved. Apart from that, there are also time series events that occur naturally, such as rainy and hot conditions in a certain area. The classification process of time series activities is very important to see the possibility of anomalies occurring. The significant development of machine learning models in recent years has made the process of classifying time series data increasingly researched. Several previous studies stated that deep learning models were more accurate in classifying time series data. In this paper, we will compare Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Transformer deep learning models in classifying time series data. Experimental results using the same public datasets for CNN and Transformer model show that the CNN model is more accurate than the Transformer model. The results of measuring accuracy using confusion matrix show that CNN has an accuracy of 92% and Transformer has an accuracy of 80%. © 2023 IEEE.

Adaptive predictive analysis model utilizing Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) to enhance quality assurance processes in Smart Campus environments. Traditional predictive models often struggle with the dynamic and complex nature of educational data, leading to inaccurate predictions and inefficient decision-making. SNNs, inspired by biological neurons, are particularly suited for processing temporal data and adapting to evolving patterns. The proposed model integrates spike-timing-dependent plasticity (STDP) and dynamic weight adjustment to continuously learn and refine predictions in response to real-time data, ensuring improved accuracy and robustness. The study uses historical data from the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) over a three-year period, focusing on key performance indicators such as student enrollment trends, faculty productivity, and resource utilization. Experimental results demonstrate that the SNN-based model outperforms traditional neural networks, achieving a 20% reduction in Mean Squared Error (MSE) and a higher R-squared value. These findings indicate that the model not only enhances predictive accuracy but also offers significant improvements in operational efficiency and resource management. By providing timely and precise insights, this model supports proactive decision-making in educational institutions, enabling administrators to optimize resource allocation, monitor academic quality, and anticipate future challenges. This research contributes to the growing field of artificial intelligence in education, offering a scalable, adaptive approach to managing complex data and improving institutional performance in real-time. © 2024 IEEE.

Human food needs are increasing all the time. This condition is in line with the increasing world population and exacerbated by climate change. Agricultural products are one of the sources of food to meet food needs. The use of technology is one of the keys to success in increasing agricultural production. One of the technologies used in agricultural technology is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT in agricultural technology can be used to monitor soil and weather conditions to ensure that these conditions are in accordance with the needs of agricultural crops. The use of machine learning technology can be combined with IoT to help predict the types of crops that are suitable for planting based on soil and weather conditions. The results of the experiment show that the machine learning model can be used to predict the right types of plants to plant based on soil and weather conditions obtained through IoT.
