In this paper, we propose a novel Prior-Guided Parallel Residual Bi-Fusion Feature Pyramid Network (PPRB-FPN) for accurate obstacle detection in unmanned surface vehicle (USV) sailing. Our method tackles the challenge of detecting small objects, which are prone to information vanishing. To the end, we leverage the PRB-FPN for small object detection and YOLOv7 as a single-stage object detector to effectively identify obstacles. Our experimental results on the Obstacle Detection Challenge dataset at the 1st Workshop on Maritime computer Vision (MaCVi) demonstrate that our method outperforms both Mask R-CNN (mrcnn) and YOLOv7, achieving an F-avg score of 0.514. © 2023 IEEE.

Pupillometry measures pupil size, and several open-source algorithms are available to analyse pupillometry data. However, only a few studies compared these algorithms’ accuracy and computational resources. This study aims to compare the accuracy of computer vision-based algorithms (Swirski, Starburst, PuRe, ElSe, ExCuSe algorithms) and the machine learning algorithm, DeepLabCut, to the double-blinded human examiners (gold-standard). Training of DeepLabCut with different architectures and a variable number of markers (2-9 markers) was done on an open-source dataset. The duration of training was statistically longer for the ResNet152 model compared to the MobileNet model. The pupil diameters in computer vision-based software such as PuRe, Starburst, and Swirski were statistically different from human measurements. MobileNet 2 and 3 marker models were the closest to the human measurements. In conclusion, this work highlights the efficiency of lower marker models based on MobileNet architecture in DeepLabCut, which consumes fewer computational resources and is more accurate. © 2024 Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw University of Life sciences - SGGW. Air pollution is a pressing issue in cities, and managing air quality poses a challenge for urban designers and decision-makers. This study proposes a Digital Twin (DT) Smart City integrated with Mixed Reality technology to enhance visualization and collaboration for addressing urban air pollution. The research adopts an applied research approach, with a focus on developing a DT framework. A use case of DT development for Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is presented. By integrating air quality data, meteorological information, traffic patterns, and urban infrastructure data, the DT provides a comprehensive understanding of air pollution dynamics. The visualization capabilities of the DT, utilizing Mixed Reality technology, facilitate effective decision-making and the identification of strategies for managing air quality. However, further research is needed to address data management challenges to build a DT for Smart City at scale. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Protein structure prediction in three dimensions represents a fundamental challenge in Structural Bioinformatics. Leveraging problem-specific information such as fragment insertion, secondary structure, and contact maps can significantly enhance the exploration of the search space. In this study, an evolutionary algorithm is introduced, which incorporates such problem information for protein structure prediction. The proposed method employs a dynamic speciation technique alongside fragment insertion to foster population diversity. To ensure a rich variety of fragments, a fragment library is constructed using the Rosetta Quota protocol. Additionally, information from contact maps and secondary structure is integrated into two selection strategies to facilitate a more thorough exploration of the conformational search space. The results of an experimental evaluation involving 9 proteins are presented, demonstrating competitive performance compared to existing literature. Evaluation metrics include RMSD, GDT, and processing time. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's digitalization era, asset management has evolved following the rapid adoption of information systems and digital technologies. In the maintenance phase of the asset, Digital Twin (DT) emerges as an effective approach to improve failure recognition and structural damage prediction through DT-driven Prognostic and Health Monitoring (PHM). As a result, DT allows asset manager to proactively plan maintenance strategy to improve the availability of the assets. However, to reduce asset downtime in a cost-effective and time efficient manner, DT for maintenance phase needs to be integrated with other software systems that manage the provision of maintenance service and spare part such as computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Nevertheless, many of the developed DT in PHM were not equipped with semantic data model and hence, lacks interoperability with other systems (e.g., other DT or non-DT system) and limits the effective use of the DT. To qualify as an effective DT, it needs a semantical-enabled interface to connect with data and models from various domain to enable DT-driven decision-making. This paper leverages a rule-based ontology reasoning model to enhance DT interoperability with other maintenance software systems. The results depicts that the developed model paves a way for an effective use of DT-driven system in asset maintenance management. © 2022 IEEE.

Fantasy Sports has a current market size of ${\$}$27B and is expected to grow more than ${\$}$84B in less than a decade. The intent is to create virtual teams that somehow reflect what would happen if the constituent players actually played in a team. Using individual player and team statistics, models can be trained to predict an outcome. But fans are left wanting more. To achieve a more realistic outcome, aspects of what makes live teams win need to be included: (1) transforming player statistics to reflect their relative importance with respect to a player position;(2) team chemistry (TC). In this work, we show a novel characterization of relative position statistics and a new description of TC. Drawn from the NBA's API, we form a data set to determine whether a fantasy team makes the playoffs using almost two dozen features, including TC. Various Machine Learning models are trained on this data and the best-performing model is offered to the users through a web service. Users can not only inspect fantasy teams and their TC but can also simulate their match-ups with existing 2023 NBA teams and utilize performance visualizations to help improve their team creation process. Itis necessary to preserve the Kaganga script to be in demand again, especially by the younger generation today. Using and developing current technology, namely image processing techniques and deep learning, can be one way to reintroduce and preserve the culture of Kaganga script recognition. The purpose of this study is to implement the CNN method in recognizing the Kaganga script, observe the results of the implementation of the L2 regularization technique in reducing the overfitting process in CNN, and increase the accuracy of Kaganga script recognition using CLAHE and L2 regularization technique in CNN. The collected datasets are divided into test, valid, and training data. To acquire primary data for the Kaganga script, 50 respondents were involved. Each respondent was requested to write a Kaganga script on the provided paper. Organizations engaged in cultural heritage research are gathering data for this project: Yayasan Budaya Nusantara Digital (Jakarta), Yayasan Insani Mandiri Santani (Bengkulu), and Yayasan Sejahtera Bersama (Bengkulu). This study will evaluate using an accuracy measurement model, precision, and recall, which is included in the confusion matrix measurement model. In this research, we conducted four experiments, including CNN with L1, CNN with L2, CNN with dropout and the CLAHE-CNN with best regularization. From the experimental results, CLAHE-CNN with L2 will be found that accuracy during the training stage gets a value of 100%, accuracy during the validation stage gets a value of 85% and accuracy during the testing stage gets a value of 80.75% © 2024 IEEE.

Solar Dryer Dome (SDD), an agricultural facility for drying and preserving agricultural products, needs a smart ability to predict the future indoor climate accurately, including indoor temperature and indoor humidity, in order to optimize electricity usage. To overcome these challenges, deep learning has been a widely adopted method. This research aims to forecast the future indoor climate using time series data by implementing a sequence-to-sequence (seq2seq) architecture, which is mostly used in Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks. The two proposed seq2seq models, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) seq2seq and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) seq2seq, have proven to be superior to the adapted LSTM and GRU. The results show that the seq2seq GRU model outperforms the adapted GRU baseline model by an average difference of 0.03013 in MAE and the seq2seq LSTM model outperforms the adapted LSTM baseline model by an average difference of 0.00941 in MAE. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first implementation of seq2seq models for indoor climate forecasting on the Room Climate dataset. © 2022 IEEE.

This research discussion will be a comparative model proposal for introducing Besurek batik fabric by implementing MobileNet, ResNet50, InceptionV3 and VGG16. This research also analyzed the influence of augmentation data methods, namely rotation, zoom, width shift and height shift, on the performance of the Besurek batik fabric recognition algorithm based on accuracy, precision and recall results. The size of the batik besurek fabric motif image as an input image is 224 × 224 with three channels consisting of red, green, and blue, totalling five classes, namely kaligrafi, bunga rafflesia, burung kuau, lung paku and rambutan. The ratio of sharing training data and test data is 70:30. Accuracy evaluations are carried out on several epochs and data that have been shared. Based on the experiment, the accuracy value of MobileNetV2 can be obtained by training accuracy of 98.14%, validation accuracy of 94.60%, and testing accuracy of 96.46%. Then, the accuracy value of ResNet50 can be obtained by training accuracy at 99.60%, validation accuracy at 97.44, and testing accuracy at 98.12%. The accuracy value of InceptionV3 can be obtained by training accuracy at 96.35%, validation accuracy at 96.59%, and testing accuracy at 92.50%. Finally, the accuracy value of VGG16 can be obtained by training accuracy at 99.67%, validation accuracy at 96.02%, and testing accuracy at 95.00%. The accuracy of VGG 16 can be concluded as the best model for Batik recognition. © 2024 IEEE.

This research is aimed to develop and evaluate an Electronic Human Resource Management (E-HRM) system called WorkEv to assist in monitoring and improving employee's performance. The application was developed based on Website using Django and Bootstrap framework. The evaluation process was conducted using Delphi method. Based on the results of the User Acceptance Test (UAT) with the Delphi method, the WorkEv application can be accepted by the target user because the design and development results meet the expectations of the target user's needs, namely easy-to-use navigation and control, simple and clear User Interface (UI) design, and the existing functions and features are effective in helping small to medium scale businesses/businesses in performing human resource management (HR). © 2022 IEEE.
