Feature-Based Augmentation in Sarcasm Detection Using Reverse Generative Adversarial Network

Sarcasm detection in text data is an increasingly vital area of research due to the prevalence of sarcastic content in online *** study addresses challenges associated with small datasets and class imbalances in sarcasm detection by employing comprehensive data pre-processing and Generative Adversial Network(GAN)based augmentation on diverse datasets,including iSarcasm,SemEval-18,and *** research offers a novel pipeline for augmenting sarcasm data with Reverse Generative Adversarial Network(RGAN).The proposed RGAN method works by inverting labels between original and synthetic data during the training *** inversion of labels provides feedback to the generator for generating high-quality data closely resembling the original ***,the proposed RGAN model exhibits performance on par with standard GAN,showcasing its robust efficacy in augmenting text *** exploration of various datasets highlights the nuanced impact of augmentation on model performance,with cautionary insights into maintaining a delicate balance between synthetic and original *** methodological framework encompasses comprehensive data pre-processing and GAN-based augmentation,with a meticulous comparison against Natural Language Processing Augmentation(NLPAug)as an alternative augmentation ***,the F1-score of our proposed technique outperforms that of the synonym replacement augmentation technique using *** increase in F1-score in experiments using RGAN ranged from 0.066%to 1.054%,and the use of standard GAN resulted in a 2.88%increase in *** proposed RGAN model outperformed the NLPAug method and demonstrated comparable performance to standard GAN,emphasizing its efficacy in text data augmentation.

These days almost all people in the world use the Internet as the internet is constantly evolving. Cyber attack scale are increased thanks to cybercriminals that have become sophisticated in employing threats. Since the 1980s, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) have been developed to defend computer networks against malicious activity and unauthorized access. Companies choose to implement IDS the part of their Cyber Security strategy to protect their data and network from potential threats. in this case, IDS has played a crucial role in detecting abnormal traffic and protecting digital assets. furthermore, a high-accuracy IDS is needed in concern of having false positive feedback from the IDS machine itself that can cause various problems. to accompany the need for high accuracy and trainable IDS machines, we experimented with a hybrid system using machine learning that is combined with traditional IDS machines resulting in higher accuracy and lower error rate. By adjusting the parameter the accuracy improved and could achieve an accuracy of 99.66% of classifying the traffic. © 2024 IEEE.

Managing data has changed significantly because of cloud computing, which offers scalabe, flexible and reasonably priced solutions to enterprises and to people as well such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft expanding their infrastructure to meet the demand from the customer. With such advantages there will also be disadvantages such as security problems. This paper will discuss about security problems such as encryption, access control, multi-factor authentication, regular audits, secure configurations, incident response planning. This paper will also talk about security measures to deal with threats such as malicious insiders, data abuse, unsecured interfaces and APIs, shared technology complications, data loss or leakage, hijacking, and enigmatic risk profiles. This study examines and evaluates a range of cloud computing security concerns and issues through a systematic analysis of the literature. The goal of the research is to raise public awareness of the need for cloud computing security and to offer possible remedies. Identify and classify network security threats and vulnerabilities in cloud computing by doing an extensive examination of the body of research and empirical investigations is one of the answer to the questions from the paper. In the end, this take a look at unearths vulnerabilities and their practical implications through very well reading network safety in cloud computing. © 2024 IEEE.

Low back pain is a leading cause of disability globally, is often associated with degenerative lumbar spine conditions. Accurate diagnosis of these conditions is critical but challenging due to the subjective nature of MRI interpretation and the weak correlation between imaging findings and symptoms. Thus, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of CNN-based architectures (VGG-16, EfficientNetB0, EfficientNetV2) and transformer-based architecture specifically Vision Transformers (ViT) in classifying lumbar spine conditions as normal, moderate, or severe. Using the RSNA 2024 Lumbar Spine Degenerative Classification dataset. The models are evaluated using the ROC-AUC and PRAUC as the performance metrics due to the dataset imbalance. Results indicate that EfficientNetB0 achieved the highest overall performance, with an average ROC-AUC of 0.784 and PR-AUC of 0.528, demonstrating strong adaptability to imbalanced datasets. EfficientNetV2 also performed competitively, while VGG-16 showed moderate effectiveness. The Vision Transformer (ViT), however, underperformed due to its reliance on larger datasets and challenges in capturing fine-grained spatial features. The findings highlight the potential of EfficientNet-based models for accurate and efficient lumbar spine diagnostics. This study underscores the potential of advanced deep learning approaches in improving diagnostic workflows for degenerative lumbar spine conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

Emotion Recognition is one field that is taking the world by storm in this current age. Multimodal emotion recognition has shown promising results however, previous studies shows that recognition using speech is a field has not performed that greatly. Previous research used popular methods such as CNN, RNN, and other machine learning methods has been used to achieved good results with the help of other modality, where if speech were to be used alone the results won't be as good. A factor that contributes to the result of the speech modality not performing as well is the fact of the dataset and the way it was processed. Therefore, this research looks into what makes speech one of the lowest performing modalities by preprocessing the dataset using a different method than previous researches as well as using a CNN model paired with a Transformer model. Results achieved from this research showed an improvement when using IEMOCAP by 8.09% and MELD by 1.06%. A comparison results of using the pre-processed data with previous studies model was also done to compare the results. In conclusion, this research has explored a different preprocessing method and deep learning model that has achieved results better than previous works with the same dataset. © 2025 IEEE.

In recent times, there has been considerable attention directed towards Facial Expression Recognition (FER) due to its extensive utility across diverse domains. However, the universality of facial expressions has been challenged by studies suggesting that cultural backgrounds significantly influence the perception and recognition of emotions. This paper addresses the need for culturally specific datasets in FER tasks, particularly in underrepresented regions like Indonesia. The study introduces dynamic images as an alternative input representation for facial expression recognition tasks, aiming to assess their efficacy using the Indonesian Mixed Emotions Dataset (IMED). Through experimentation using EfficientNet model, the performance of dynamic images is compared with static image and video inputs. Results indicate that dynamic images exhibit promising performance, with an accuracy of 94.28%. These results outperform static image datasets and nearly match the performance of video-based models, which achieved an accuracy of 97.93 %, despite using fewer data. Nonetheless, challenges such as data imbalance and the quality of generated dynamic images persist, suggesting avenues for further research and model refinement. This study provides valuable insights into methodological advancements in FER, particularly in limited dataset conditions, laying the groundwork for future developments in dynamic image-based facial expression recognition algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

In the highly competitive telecommunications industry, customer churn poses a significant threat to revenue and long-term sustainability. To proactively address this challenge, machine learning (ML) techniques offer promising solutions for predicting and mitigating customer churn. This study applies ML algorithms to churn prediction, focusing on the challenges of imbalanced data. Using a publicly available Telecom dataset from Kaggle, the data was meticulously prepared through a multi-stage process, including Random Under-Sampling (RUS) to address class imbalance. The study employed a range of ML algorithms, evaluating their performance using key metrics such as recall, precision, F1score, and accuracy. The findings reveal valuable insights into how RUS can enhance model performance by improving the prediction of the minority class. XGBoost outperformed Logistic Regression and Random Forest in accurately identifying positive outcomes, suggesting its effectiveness in recognizing true instances of customer churn. The confusion matrix supports this observation, showing that the recall value produced by XGBoost slightly exceeded those for Logistic Regression and Random Forest. © 2024 IEEE.

To get accurate data prediction results, it requires not only the right machine learning model, but also hyperparameters. Hyperparameters play an important role in shaping and optimizing the performance of machine learning models. Determining the right combination of model and hyperparameters is often a challenge. This research will use a hyperparameter search method, namely grid search. The aim of this research is to find out optimization best results from hyperparameters for several machine learning models using the Grid Search method and see the performance impact of using the grid search method for heart disease classification. Heart disease is a disease that has the potential to be fatal for humans if not treated quickly. Early detection can be done by utilizing machine learning models that are able to analyze data patterns from studied data sets. By training machine learning to study data sets related to heart disease, it is hoped that it will be able to carry out early detection of heart disease. © 2024 IEEE.

A bank's marketing campaign execution is very important. Undoubtedly, a well-crafted marketing plan will contribute to the bank's increased revenue. Marketing is crucial because it can be used to connect with consumers and inform them of the advantages of making a deposit with the bank, which will increase the number of deposits the bank receives. Thus, the goal of this research is to determine the best customer information that affects their decision on subscribing a term deposit and providing the best model for predicting the outcome of future marketing campaign. By determining the significance of each feature, this research constructed machine learning models using methods like Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF) and Logistic Regression (LR) as our research contribution. According to the research's findings, out of the three machine learning models, Random Forest (RF) has the highest accuracy scores. Additionally, the feature importance model reveals that a customer's decision to make a deposit or not is greatly influenced by factors such as the age of the customer, how much does the customer has in their bank account, did the bank have contacts with longer call durations, and did it has a positive outcomes on the previous marketing campaigns. The customers who are contacted more frequently and have subscribed before are more likely to subscribe in the future marketing campaign. © 2024 IEEE.

Natural disasters, including earthquakes, cyclones, floods, and wildfires, cause significant environmental damage and have emerged as a major global issue. These events can result in loss of life and disrupt communities and economy. Effective disaster management relies on timely and accurate information. With social media becoming a primary source of real-time information during such events, many images of these disasters are shared, though some may not be accurately labeled. Therefore, the purpose of this study is classifying natural disaster images, mainly cyclone, wildfire, flood, earthquake from social media images. This paper is to conduct a comparative analysis over 4 models namely VGG16, VGG19, EfficientNetB0, and ResNet-50. This paper uses a dataset that contains 4428 human-annotated images including cyclones, earthquakes, floods, and wildfires. Results concluded that ResNet-50 and EfficientNetB0 give the best result with both got over 96% average accuracy. ResNet-50 delivers more stable and more convergent results compared to EfficientNetB0, but it delivers slightly less classification accuracy. VGG16 and VGG19 are both outclassed in terms of accuracy, but better in training time, with VGG19 having a more convergent result. ©2024 IEEE.
