For damage detection, this research article discusses an easy-to-compute damage index derived from the governing dynamic of the structure that has potential practical application in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). The research uses simplified structural models to explore the sensitivity of the index to damages, to compare the index performance with a traditional but popular damage detection method, and to understand the local/global predictive capability of the index. The research uses two simple models, namely, single- and two-degree-of-freedom systems. The results suggest that the damage index is local, that can only monitor damages occurring near the points of measurements, but it is sensitive to damages, unlike the natural frequency, which is global but less sensitive.

Purpose: This study aims to understand the antecedent of trust towards government-to-business (G2B) service in Indonesia. Trust will be viewed through four aspects, namely, cognition-based trust, personality-oriented trust, affect-based trust and experience–based trust. Then, these antecedents of trust were examined as the factors of continuance intention by extending the expected confirmation theory (ECT). Design/methodology/approach: Data were collected through a quantitative approach, and 389 respondents were involved in the study. The respondents are the investors who represent their organization which uses e-government service to report their investment activities to the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia. Data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modelling approach with WarpPLS 4.0. Findings: The result shows that factors that determine a user’s trust in government online service are service quality, trust towards government entity, recommendation to use the service and user’s habit of using the service. Factors that do not determine a user’s trust in government online service is a disposition to trust. Another finding is that a user’s trust on an online service does not directly influence his/her continuance of use. Trust will impact the continuance of use through perceptions of benefits and perceived satisfaction of using the online service. Research limitations/implications: ECT is applicable in G2B process. Organizations have a perception of benefit while using a public e-service and confirm the perception through their experience while using an e-service to gain satisfaction, and this will encourage them to continue using the service. Understanding the reliability of engineering methods is crucial for its adoption and deployment. This research focuses on the reliability of the Power Spectral Density (PSD) method via the use of the F statistic for damage detection. To the author best knowledge, the method is rather classic but its realibility has not been discussed in the context of a large data size. Priory, the research anticipates that the accuracy is a function of the damage level. In this study, we evaluate 3500 cases with five levels of structural integrity, namely, healthy condition and damaged conditions with 1%, 5%, 10%, and 20% damage levels. The dataset is established via a numerical analysis of a seven degree-of-freedom system loaded with a concentrated dynamic force with random magnitude. A spring on the system is reduced in its stiffness to simulate damages. Our significant findings are the following: it is challenging for the PSD-based method to differentiate the healthy condition from the damaged conditions when the damage level is small. However, the reliability is high at 95% probability when the structural integrity has dropped by five percent.

Currently in most cases, the inference of spatio-temporal modeling using Bayes regression still utilize MCMC simulations, which has an important issue in their limitation in computational burden. Involving big datasets, the complexity of Bayes spatio-temporal modeling could lead inefficient performance from Bayesian inference via MCMC. This paper aims to predict rainfall in observed and unobserved locations using Bayes spatio-temporal model with the inference of INLA, which has proven capable of providing fast and accurate results. The response variable is monthly rainfall from 57 locations in West Java Indonesia, observed from 1981 – 2017 and assumed to have normal distribution. Our spatio-temporal modeling based on additive framework, which can capture the spatial and temporal random effect as explanatory variables. The spatial random effects are a realization of Gaussian process with spatial dependency follow Matérn model, and the temporal random effects are assumed to have annually cyclic and follow random walk of order two. The model shows satisfying results: the spatio-temporal model able to predict rainfall even for unobserved locations using the spatio-temporal characteristics from nearly locations with the correlation between predicted and real data sets is about 0.7 – 0.8 for high to low quantile with RMSE is about 294 for high quantile.

The suggested solution is to use data warehouse, because it has more structured storage and the data can be analysed by OLAP analysis that has the capability to show the data quickly. Data warehouse development was done through nine step that has been designed by Kimball and Ross. With this solution, PT XYZ has the capability to maintain quality of the product by monitoring the process and the data.
