As one of the cancer types with the highest incidence rates, colorectal cancer (CRC) would benefit from treatments with fewer side effects and reduced treatment-resistant potential. One of the options is to harness the anti-CRC potential of natural products. Previous studies have shown that Calamus draco exudate, dragon's blood, has anticancer activity in liver cancer and acute myeloid leukemia, but its bioactivity has not been studied in CRC. Here we conduct a bioinformatics study based on network pharmacology to explore the anti-CRC potential and mechanism of C. draco-derived compounds. The bioinformatics pipeline is composed of compound and target collection, biological network evaluation, and enrichment analysis. We found that there are 43 bioactive compounds from C. draco targeting 91 CRC-related targets, of which most compounds target MEN1, PTGS2, and IDH1. Further analyses show that the targets of C. draco are involved in the cellular response to hypoxia. By inhibiting those targets, C. draco bioactive compounds can potentially hinder angiogenesis and increase treatment response efficacy. © 2024 The Authors.

Rice is the prime commodity of food for Indonesian citizens. Knowing the role of rice as a source of food for Indonesian citizens, the growth of rice needs to be monitored. Deep learning can be utilized to carry out the monitorization of rice production in Indonesia by investigating the correlation between the features of the parameters regarding rice production. Several deep learning approaches that are used to predict rice productions are Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The performance of each approach then be reviewed using the metrics parameter. Several metric parameters that have been used to assess the performance of the model are Mean Square Error (MSE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and R2 Score. Based on the results of the experiment, CNN performed the best in comparison out of the three proposed models. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of balanced medical datasets is essential to improve the precision and accuracy of machine learning models in the healthcare field. However, dataset imbalance often becomes an obstacle, especially in the diagnosis of skin diseases. This research aims to develop a Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) method that is more effective in generating synthetic skin datasets to overcome problems in integrating medical datasets. The methods used include developing and training a GAN model to produce realistic synthetic skin images, with a focus on improving the quality and diversity of the synthetic data produced. Important results from this research show that the developed GAN model is able to produce synthetic skin images that are not only realistic but also able to balance the original dataset. The implications of these findings include improving the accuracy and performance of machine learning models in the diagnosis of skin diseases, as well as the potential use of these methods in other medical fields that face similar problems with imbalanced datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

Brain stroke is a disease that contributes to the number of deaths in Indonesia. The number of victims of brain stroke is still increasing to this day, so a solution is needed that can predict brain stroke attacks in patients. This research is useful so that patients can be given appropriate medical treatment to prevent brain stroke. To predict brain stroke in patients, researchers designed an application that utilizes machine learning to provide accurate predictions based on several variables. The researcher used a dataset consisting of 4981 patient data with 10 non-labeled attributes who had/not had a brain stroke. By using random forest algorithm which then performed parameter tuning, researchers managed to get an accuracy of 98.98% in predicting the occurrence of brain stroke in patients. © 2023 IEEE.

The growing focus on microcredentials emphasizes the urgent need for precise and widely accepted definitions, as existing uncertainties hinder their effective implementation. This research aims to investigate the comprehension of microcredentials definitions in the context of higher education by conducting a systematic literature review. The goal is to identify current definitions of microcredentials to facilitate standardization initiatives. Following The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to systematically search in Scopus database within 2019-2024 resulting 940 articles, by removing the duplicates, 280 articles were initially reviewed, with 29 selected for detailed thematic analysis based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. By adapting the six phases of thematic analysis, selected articles were identified analyzed, organized, described, and themes found the data set were reported. Key findings reveal that, while a universally accepted definition is lacking, common themes emerge: microcredentials are competency-based, modular, portable, stackable, and often include quality assurance. These attributes highlight microcredentials as valuable for upskilling and reskilling in a flexible manner. The study concludes that establishing standard definitions can increase the recognition and utility of microcredentials across educational and professional sectors and recommends further research to strengthen core elements for consistency. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.

Augmented Reality is a technology that overlays computer-generated information and images in a natural environment to enhance or augment the contextual perception of the user's environment. The utilization of AR is currently one of the most important in developing several industrial sectors, such as architecture, engineering, and construction development. Nowadays, the property sector industry has always been an issue of sale for users that do not have direct access to the property. The pandemic and the economic problem in different countries have also reduced consumer interest in purchasing houses. Due to these issues, this paper aims to provide a platform for addressing these pain areas. The software can apply Augmented Reality to real estate in real-time using a mobile device. Not only can they see the outside of the property, but they can also see the interior design, furniture design, and property mapping in 3D. Our test results show that an application is needed to provide the property sector with high demands. Over 80% of our respondents confirm that our application's presence will help ease the sales problem. Because it can save the customer time, viewing property frequency, and cost saving. These increased demands, we are developing an AR-based application for the market to use and gain more traction in the property sector. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

IT/OT convergence in the form of a Cyber-Physical System (CPS) presents an opportunity to apply recent Information Technology (IT) advancements to Operational Technology (OT). The IT/OT convergence introduces cyber security threats for OT. The OT communication protocols, for example, have limited or no security capabilities for securing data exchange beyond basic authentication. The RNG (Random Number Generator) function is crucial in PLC for producing the encryption keys or the initial seed for security algorithms. The software-based PRNG (Pseudo RNG) is the most common approach for RNG in OT, instead of hardware-based RNG. This study provides a systematic literature review of the most recent evidence in digital transformation to secure data exchange in smart factories, within OT, or across OT and IT settings. It does this by looking at the PRNG on PLC and identifying the most recent trends and best practices. The findings include up-to-date data on author countries' distribution, published journals, research trends, industries, and industry types. The findings also address whether data flow is encrypted or shared in plaintext to ensure secure data transfer between IT and legacy OT environments. This paper concludes that while there is known RNG implementation in the actual embedded system in ICS, there is no evidence in the literature for using RNG in ICS networks for PLC implementation to secure data transfer with encryption. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate detection of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is essential for prompt diagnosis and effective treatment. In this study, we introduce a deep learning method employing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and pretrained models to enhance the precision of ALL detection. We leveraged a dataset comprising blood cell images for training and validation. Performance evaluations of three CNN models - ResNet-50, VGG16, and a bespoke CNN architecture - were conducted using metrics like accuracy, loss, and validation scores. Our findings reveal that VGG16 achieved a notable accuracy of 96.53%, while our custom CNN yielded 88.15%. Notably, VGG16, despite its high accuracy, exhibited signs of overfitting. In contrast, ResNet-50 underperformed, registering an accuracy of just 79.05%. This work underscores the potential of technological innovations in healthcare, especially in ALL diagnosis, and paves the way for more in-depth exploration of deep learning in cancer detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Escape Rooms have emerged as one of the most popular real-world games, captivating individuals worldwide in search of leisure activities. This research paper outlines the development of LonelyScape, an innovative gaming experience that combines physical props with virtual elements within an engaging 3D environment. LonelyScape challenges players' problem-solving skills while providing an entertaining and immersive adventure. By utilizing augmented reality (AR) technology, the gameplay becomes interactive, ensuring a high level of engagement. The creative development process involved the use of Xcode, ARKit, RealityKit, and SwiftUI, employing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology to achieve an intuitive gameplay design. In this study, we delve deeper into the subject by presenting existing studies on similar AR-based escape room games, along with a detailed overview of LonelyScape's gameplay design structure. Through beta testing involving nine participants, LonelyScape's entertainment value was affirmed, as it successfully kept players engaged throughout their journey. The evaluation of the testing, utilizing the UEQ scales, indicated that the measure of attractiveness received the highest value with a mean of 1.78, surpassing the other measures. This categorization as 'good' when compared to the benchmark demonstrates the positive reception of LonelyScape. © 2023 IEEE.
