Creating pixel-level ground-truth (GT) masks is quite costly for deep learning-based image segmentation. Specialists in areas such as anomaly detection and medical diagnostics face difficulties in producing many GT masks due to limited resources. To reduce this burden, we propose a cost-effective image segmentation framework with point annotations (CoSPA) that performs image segmentation with only point annotations. Point annotations refer to the partial and sparse labeled coordinates in an image. The key idea is to ensure consistency between the predictions for the same coordinates from the two different networks of CoSPA. This new consistency enables the CoSPA to improve segmentation performance and extend to semi-supervised learning. For the MVTec AD dataset, we verified the cost-effectiveness of CoSPA through an anomaly detection task. We demonstrated that the point annotating costs were reduced by 80% compared to creating GT masks. Subsequently, the CoSPA realized by 87% of the mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) achieved using the fully supervised method, DeepLabV3+. Moreover, the mIoU of CoSPA using only 30% of all point annotations defeated that of the unsupervised method, PaDiM. This study offers a new direction for economic anomaly localization. © 2024 IEEE.

Semantic segmentation can provide significant information for a robot to actualize autonomous moving. To increase the classification accuracy of segmentation, appropriate datasets should be prepared, which requires huge human labors. The authors attempt to realize a semi-automatic method that generates two dimensional images having pixel-wise class labels from 3D point clouds obtained by a 3D scanner. In this study, dense point clouds are generated to improve the quality of training samples. Experimental results using data obtained around the course of the Tsukuba Challenge, which is the famous competition for autonomous moving robots in Japan, showed that the dense point clouds effective but appropriate variety of textures should be included in the training samples. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, there has been a proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and so has been the attacks on them. In this paper we will propose a methodology to detect Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks on IoT devices using Machine Learning for Microcontrollers. We will discuss a model which we made for Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense using Machine Learning for Microcontrollers. Additionally, we will discuss results of our proposal in detecting DDoS attacks on IoT devices. Lastly, we will describe the feasibility of our model on IoT devices. © 2024 IEEE.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company's business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal. © 2023 IEEE.

To show the effectiveness of visual navigation based on the results of semantic segmentation, the authors participating in the Tsukuba Challenge, a well-known autonomous robot motion competition in Japan. The Tsukuba Challenge, which normally includes events only in outdoor environments, included in 2023 a new indoor environmental challenge, in which a robot must navigate a crowded shopping mall. In order to achieve visual navigation in an indoor environment, based on the results of segmentation, we needed to train a classifier suitable to navigate many simultaneously moving obstacles such as crowded people. For this purpose, this paper proposes a method for creating an appropriate dataset using a public dataset and modifying an existing dataset for an outdoor scenario: class labels are re-assigned considering the target environment. Experimental results using images captured at the course of the Extra Challenge in the Tsukuba Challenge 2023 showed that the proposed dataset enables the construction of a better classifier for semantic segmentation than only a public dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

The application of big data technology has brought new impetus and possibilities to the development of tourism. The design of an embedded Q&A robot system for Qinghai tourism customer service based on ChatGPT system aims to provide an intelligent customer service solution to help users obtain information about Qinghai tourism and answer questions. The system uses ChatGPT as the core dialogue model, combines the knowledge and data in the field of Qinghai tourism, and realizes the intelligent answer to user questions. This study application in the field of natural language processing, and analyzes the design requirements and implementation scheme of embedded travel question answering system in detail. The function module includes user login and registration, travel tickets, hotel information query, scenic spot ticket price query and other essential basic function modules of the tourism website. Whether the design is reasonable or not will also directly affect the user experience. The results show that ChatGPT embedded in Qinghai tourism Q&A system can not only provide more intelligent and accurate answers, but also enhance the interactivity and practicability of the system, and provide users with more convenient and personalized tourism information services. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The Smart Power Grid (SPG) is pivotal in orchestrating and managing demand response in contemporary smart cities, leveraging the prowess of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Within the immersive SPG environment, the ubiquitous deployment of smart meters stands as a testament to their paramount importance in the realm of vigilant monitoring and oversight. These smart meters are installed on high-tension electricity lines and transmit information about electricity outages and other issues to the utility center. To access services from utility centers, smart meters need to communicate securely over a public channel, even though the network itself is insecure. However, potential attacks from adversaries ( Ad) can exploit this communication. Therefore, protecting this communication is of utmost importance. Several privacy-preserving authentication protocols designed for SPG have been introduced in the literature. Nevertheless, a significant number of these protocols exhibit vulnerabilities to diverse security attacks. This article introduces a lightweight and anonymous authentication protocol specifically designed to address these concerns in the SPG environment. Our protocol ensures both security and efficiency, surpassing other comparable protocols in terms of its lightweight nature. By employing both formal and informal analysis, we showcase the robustness of our protocol against significant attacks while remaining lightweight. The proposed protocol provides added security features and incurs 23.8879% lower computation cost than related protocols. Consequently, our protocol is highly suitable for implementation in the SPG system. © 2020 IEEE.

Estimating neural radiance fields (NeRFs) is able to generate novel views of a scene from known imagery. Recent approaches have afforded dramatic progress on small bounded regions of the scene. For an unbounded scene where cameras point in any direction and contents exist at any distance, certain mapping functions are used to represent it within a bounded space, yet they either work in object-centric scenes or focus on objects close to the camera. The goal of this paper is to understand how to design a proper mapping function that considers per-scene optimization, which remains unexplored. We first present a geometric understanding of existing mapping functions that express the relation between the bounded and unbounded scenes. Here, we exploit a stereographic projection method to explain failures of the mapping functions, where input ray samples are too sparse to account for scene geometry in unbounded regions. To overcome the failures, we propose a novel mapping function based on a p-norm distance, allowing to adaptively sample the rays by adjusting the p-value according to scene geometry, even in unbounded regions. To take the advantage of our mapping function, we also introduce a new ray parameterization to properly allocate ray samples in the geometry of unbounded regions. Through the incorporation of both the novel mapping function and the ray parameterization within existing NeRF frameworks, our method achieves state-ofthe-art novel view synthesis results on a variety of challenging datasets. © 2024 12th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. The industry is rapidly transitioning from the 4.0 era to the 5.0 era, prompting renewed interest among scholars in scheduling problems. They allow operations to process and assemble various components simultaneously. This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the diverse research perspectives on the potential challenges of integrated scheduling within the framework. We identified 357 Scopus articles and analysed co-occurrence keyword (CNK) by VOSViewer tools and Global Citation Score (GCS) by Scopus tools. The research data obtained from 1993 to 2023 mainly in the subject areas of Engineering, computer science, Maths, and others. CNK identified six cluster keywords, and nine most cited articles based on normalised GCS. These results contribute to our understanding of the development of scheduling algorithms, shifting from an emphasis on manufacturing transfers to contemporary demand-centric research directions. Furthermore, this research provides a valuable perspective for policymakers, plant personnel, and manufacturing managers to make informed decisions. © 2025 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
