This paper investigates the (quasi-)periodicity of a string when the string is edited. A string C is called a cover (as known as a quasi-period) of a string T if each character of T lies within some occurrence of C. By definition, a cover of T must be a border of T;that is, it occurs both as a prefix and as a suffix of T. In this paper, we focus on the changes in the longest border and the shortest cover of a string when the string is edited only once. We propose a data structure of size O(n) that computes the longest border and the shortest cover of the string in O(log n) time after an edit operation (either insertion, deletion, or substitution of some string) is applied to the input string T of length n, where is the length of the string being inserted or substituted. Pseudo-labeling based semi-supervised learning (SSL) framework has proven highly successful in medical image analysis (MIA) by addressing the problem of a shortage of labeled samples. However, the existing SSL methods use a fixed or flexible confidence threshold to filter reliable samples, leaving large number of unlabeled samples unused. This is a more serious issue in MIA because of the low inter-class distance and imbalanced categories. We argue that effectively mining useful information hidden in ambiguous unlabeled sample is the key to improve model performance, so we propose UPmatch, a new pseudo labeling-based SSL framework. Our framework introduces a contrastive unreliable pseudo label learning module (CUPM) that incorporates unreliable pseudo label samples into the training process. Additionally, we propose an informative sample selection strategy (ISSS) that selects samples used in contrastive learning iteratively in each mini-batch. Our experiments on TissueMNIST and ISIC2019 dataset with various training settings demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as aerial base stations (ABSs) has emerged as a promising solution to enable high-quality services in next-generation mobile networks. One key challenge is how to place the UAV-mounted Base Stations (UAV-BSs) dynamically over time in response to changes in network situations. Conventional methods usually utilize location information to place the UAV-BSs at the centroid of all users to maximize the average downlink rate. This approach might become ineffective when the traffic demand is highly heterogeneous among users, causing the spatial distribution of traffic demand not to correlate with the distribution of users. This paper considers a time-evolving multi-user multi-server system with heterogeneous traffic, where a group of UAV-BSs provides different services to ground mobile users. We formulate a long-term maximization problem of the user's time-average download speed with the queue stability constraint under random movements of ground users. An actor-critic framework of deep reinforcement learning is proposed to position multiple UAV-BSs efficiently based on a comprehensive view of the network situation, including spatial statistics of the users, traffic demand, and the network's downlink rate. The framework's core module is a deep neural network (DNN) that obtains the UAV's location and three encoded heatmaps of network statistics to predict the optimal movement for UAV-BSs. Extensive simulations demonstrate the guaranteed convergence and great potential of the proposed method regarding the backlog queue length and the average download speed of users. © 2023 IEEE.

Universities can employ information technology as one means of achieving their goals and objectives. Universities can get advantages from information technology, such as effective resource management and information management for decision-making. However, don't forget that the campus must consider what technology is appropriate to assist them achieve their goals, particularly in the current industrial era 4.0 where technology is available with many different choices. The campus requires an enterprise architecture in order to design, manage, and coordinate information technology infrastructure, applications, and processes strategically and thoroughly. The adoption of enterprise information system architecture (EA) is also intended to improve the quality of services provided to internal and external stakeholders. In this case, Enterprise Architecture can help an organization to match its information technology resources with business processes and strategies to achieve their goals. This research was conducted using TOGAF ADM, also known as the Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method. This method offers best practices for creating enterprise architecture and emphasizes several steps that include creating an architectural vision, information systems, business architecture modeling to help XYZ campus manage all their information technology. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a numerical model considering the embedment reaction of column foot by the beam-column finite element method was proposed for evaluating the restoring force characteristics of the rocking column in traditional timber structures. Wood compression tests in contact with stones were conducted to investigate the characteristics of the embedment reaction and initial deformation generated at the end of the wood, and these characteristics were considered in the column foot numerical model. The validity and applicability of the numerical model were verified by analyzing several static loading tests of the rocking column. © 2022 Architectural Institute of Japan. All rights reserved.

It is suggested to use remotely sensed image retrieval with query-by-example approach. This often entails using query techniques that permit descriptive semantics, queries that incorporate user feedback, machine learning-capable systems, and systems that can gauge user satisfaction. This study uses the Advanced Split and Merge Clustering approach to extract features from the textures of similar grayscale images and the spectral distribution using two-dimensional Gabor functions. The resulting pattern will be the concatenation of texture features and Spectral Distribution (SD). Modified Earth Mover's Distance (EMD) is used to limit how much of each vector can be predefined in pieces. EMD technique for establishing center correspondence between the patterns uses interactive search. © 2023 IEEE.

Hoaxes are something that can not be avoided, especially in Indonesia, where the literacy rate in Indonesia is quite low, they are easy to believe in news without doing fact check. The worst thing is that news that is trusted by the public may not be read completely through the entire content. They believe, from the title alone could already covers the entire content of the news. Media in the other side, are also competing to make controversial titles so that their traffic is improved. The research that will be carried out by us is where we can classify a news whether it is a fact or a hoax from the title alone. The RoBERTa (A Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach) model will be used in this study, because in several previous studies RoBERTa has proven to be good for classification. The accuracy achieved in this study also reached 99.52% with an accuracy validation of 93.84% which shows that even with an imbalanced dataset the classification shows a promising result by using the RoBERTa model which data is balanced using the undersampling method. © 2022 IEEE.

When in a situation where there is a language barrier, facilitate the exchange through sketching is an efficient solution if a person wishes to keep the conversation going. However, not everyone has sketch basis, the method of using sketch to facilitate the exchange requires not only the foundation of sketch, but also the ability to sketch in a short period of time. Therefore, according to design and apply a set of experiments, we focus on analyzing the eye movement data of the subjects in the sketch of imaginary object shapes and compare the differences in the sketch between the experienced painters and the novice. Specifically, we invited 16 subjects to participate in sketching (e.g., a watch) on the canvas, and their eye movement data was collected by a glasses eye tracker while sketching. The results of analysis by Mann-Whitney U test showed that the novice's gaze was skewed to the left and down as a whole, the gaze was scattered, and the fixation on the central position of the picture was not focused and sustained. In addition, experienced painters put the sketch content in the center of the picture to attract the attention of the viewer and effectively convey the important information of the picture. The research results combine technology with art, which can help novice to quickly improve the efficiency and quality of sketch and carry out a wider range of art research and application. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Low Earth Orbit satellite constellations are highly mobile and thus have time-varying network topologies. Such time-varying networks face various challenges due to intermittently available links and devices. Consequently, many routing algorithms that work well on the terrestrial Internet may not be suitable for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations. This paper provides an analysis of the impact that different types of routing algorithms may have on the performance of LEO constellations. The provided study analyses not only link-state routing algorithms, as used in well-known routing protocols for LEO constellations such as Contact Graph Routing (CGR), which follows a Software Defined Networking (SDN) approach, but also distance-vector algorithms, as well as the potential combination of link-state and distance-vector algorithms when network clusters are used in a LEO constellation. © 2024 IEEE.
