Kagai is a Japanese term for traditional entertainment districts. Furumachi Kagai is a significant area, because the historic district is remained. To date, no study has clarified the transition of distribution regarding Kagai buildings and Kashizashiki before early Showa period. This study attempts accurately to clarify the unknown history regarding these transition of distribution from medium Meiji period to early Showa period. © 2020 Architectural Institute of Japan. An inevitable feature of ultrasound-based diagnoses is that the quality of the ultrasound images produced depends directly on the skill of the physician operating the probe. This is because physicians have to constantly adjust the probe position to obtain a cross-section of the target organ, which is constantly shifting due to patient respiratory motions. Therefore, we developed an ultrasound diagnostic robot that works in cooperation with a visual servo system based on deep learning that will help alleviate the burdens imposed on physicians. Two different image processing methods (BiSeNet V2) were used to detect the target kidney location, as well as to evaluate the appropriateness of the obtained ultrasound images (ResNet 50) in developed system.

Feline panleukopenia, caused by feline parvovirus (FPV), has been studied worldwide, but there have been very few studies conducted in Vietnam. In this study, 19 rectal swab samples were collected from northern Vietnam in 2018–2019 and screened for the presence of FPV using PCR. Through sequence analysis of the full-length VP2 gene, it was found that the FPV strains detected in Vietnam were closely related to those obtained from dogs in Vietnam, Asia, Europe, and America. Moreover, the FPV strains found in Vietnam may constitute a distinct group, related to viruses sampled in China. Interestingly, most of the nucleotide changes identified were T-C substitutions. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Austria, part of Springer Nature.

The use of therapeutic peptides for the treatment of cancer has received tremendous attention in recent years. Anticancer peptides (ACPs) are considered new anticancer drugs which have several advantages over chemistry-based drugs including high specificity, strong tumor penetration capacity, and low toxicity level for normal cells. Due to the rise of experimentally verified bioactive peptides, several in silico approaches became imperative for the investigation of the characteristics of ACPs. In this paper, we proposed a new machine learning tool named iACP-RF that uses a combination of several sequence-based features and an ensemble of three heterogeneously trained Random Forest classifiers to accurately predict anticancer peptides. Experimental results show that our proposed model achieves an accuracy of 75.9% which outperforms other state-of-the-art methods by a significant margin. We also achieve 0.52, 75.6%, and 76.2% in terms of Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Sensitivity, and Specificity, respectively. iACP-RF as a standalone tool and its source code are publicly available at: https://***/MLBC-lab/iACP-RF. © 2023 The Authors

Recently, many studies in NLP, especially argument mining, have focused on revealing what a good argument is with written texts. However, there are a few studies to challenge argumentation quality assessment in face-to-face conversations due to a lack of corpora, as compared with written texts. Therefore, we construct a multimodal multi-party discussion corpus toward argumentation quality assessment in multi-party conversation. The corpus consists of 10 multi-party discussions (200 minutes) in total. Each participant is annotated for 6 scores about rhetoric, which is one of the classes of argumentation quality. In this paper, we explain the procedure of our corpus construction and report the results of the annotation.

The main objective of this paper is to achieve the device compatibility between multiple devices which are defined in the ontology. For example if a temperature sensor D1 wants to communicate with the actuator fan D2 due to their different data formats and defined properties they are unable to communicate with each other. The interlinking of data derived from different devices used to create semantics for interoperation with a shared meaning. So we are trying to solve the device compatibility problem by using their semantics. To achieve the semantic interoperability we described a ontology module. In this paper we proposed an ontology model using semantics for distinguishing device capability and also the query execution time for the devices. This ontology model is designed for adaptable IoT systems. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, we consider the case in which a swarm of robots collaborates in a mission, where a few of the robots behave maliciously. These malicious Byzantine robots may be temporally or constantly controlled by an adversary. The scope is synchronized full information robot operations, where a robot that does not follow the program/policy of the swarm is immediately identified and can be remembered as Byzantine. As robots may be suspected of being Byzantine due to benign temporal malfunctions, it is imperative to Forgive & Forget (F&F), otherwise, a robot cannot assume collaborative actions with any other robot in the swarm. Still, remembering for a while may facilitate a policy of surrounding, isolating and freezing the movement of the misbehaving robots, by several robots, allowing the rest to perform the swarm task with no intervention. We demonstrate the need to periodically F&F to realize swarm several tasks including patrolling/cleaning in the presence of possible Byzantine robots. The policy for achieving the task consists of blocking the movement of the Byzantine robot(s) by some of the robots, while the rest patrol/clean the plane. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

The main objective of this paper is to verify and propose schema compatibility as one of the main interoperability step for devices in the communication level of IoT system. The communication level requires two or more devices that are going to send or received data with each other to have the same data schema. We introduced a test scenario between the devices based on Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). Then, we considered some scenarios like smart car, smart industry, smart home and smart city of data schema with different versions(core, V1.0, V2.0 and V3.0) of json structure and its comparison method whether they have the same data schema or not. We also proposed an algorithm for schema comparison and tested the processing time for the comparison of data schema. © 2019 IEEE.

In this work, we investigated the tailoring of structural and magnetic properties of NiCu nanowires through electrodeposition. Continuous (S1) and composition-modulated (S2) wires were fabricated by electrodeposition using porous alumina membranes as a template. Morphological characterization revealed that the total length of the wires was 8 ± 3 µm in both S1 and S2. For the composition-modulated wires, the length of the segments with the lowest and highest Cu concentrations was 1.2 ± 0.4 µm and 226 ± 65 nm, respectively. Mapping by energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) revealed that the concentration of copper and nickel varied along the length of the composition-modulated nanowires, while the continuous nanowires contained a relatively constant concentration of both metals. It is demonstrated that the change in Cu concentration along the wire modifies the lattice parameter, average crystallite size (D) and lattice strain (ε) of Ni. This result is pivotal for understanding the magnetic properties of the wires, as nickel is primarily responsible for the magnetic behavior of the wires. From the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) results, the linewidth and resonance field values for samples S1 and S2 were determined. It was demonstrated that the greater deformation in the nickel lattice in NiCu nanowires increases the angular dependence of the resonance field. Furthermore, the smaller nickel crystallite size was shown to increase spin dispersion and magnetic damping, leading to complex behavior in FMR responses. Finally, it was demonstrated how Cu can influence the magnetic properties such as coercivity (H_C) and squareness (M_R/M_S) of the wires. Overall, this work contributes to understanding the tailoring of structural and magnetic properties of NiCu nanowires through electrodeposition. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

This article proposes a generate model for motion deblurring based on generative adversarial network. The generate model adopts multi-level and multi-scale feature fusion structure. By concatenating different scales of images and feature maps and adding them by pixels, the image details of each level are obtained. The enlargement part of feature maps uses three branches, which can generate more rich and realistic detail. In the training process, three loss functions at the pixel level and the abstract level are used to make the training convergence faster and effectively assist the parameter learning of the generated model. Experiments show that the proposed approach is more efficient than many state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 Institution of Engineering and technology. All rights reserved.
