During the period of digitalization, each company strives to use modern technologies to improve the efficiency of its performance. Maintenance is a big challenge for a transport company. Emergency breakdowns lead to significant financial losses. The main attention in this article was paid to the research on how to build a predictive maintenance system in a railway logistics company. The company under discussion is one of the largest private railway carriers in Russia. The paper presents the stages of forming a system for monitoring the technical condition of vehicles and lists the necessary equipment for each stage. A comparative analysis of the solutions offered on the market was carried out. Based on the results of the analysis, it was decided to use a cloud-based solution. After that, the cost and efficiency of the project were calculated. The implementation of predictive maintenance can significantly reduce costs and improve the quality of the service provided by the company.

Divisive hierarchical clustering is a powerful tool for extracting knowledge from data with a pluralistic and appropriate information granularity. Recent developments of hierarchical clustering algorithms apply Growing Neural Gas (GNG) to data divisive mechanisms. However, GNG-based algorithms tend to generate nodes excessively and sensitive to the input order of data points. Furthermore, the plasticity-stability dilemma is another unavoidable problem. In this paper, we propose a divisive hierarchical clustering algorithm based on Adaptive Resonance Theory-based clustering. Simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm can generate an appropriate tree structure depending on data while improving the performance of hierarchical clustering.

Naja atra, the Chinese cobra, is a major cause of snake envenomation in Asia, causing hundreds of thousands of clinical incidents annually. The current treatment, horse serum-derived antivenom, has unpredictable side effects and presents manufacturing challenges. This study focused on developing new-generation snake venom antidotes by using microbial phage display technology to derive nanobodies from an alpaca immunized with attenuated N. atra venom. Following confirmation of the immune response in the alpaca, we amplified VHH genes from isolated peripheral blood mononuclear cells and constructed a phage display VHH library of 1.0 × 107 transformants. After four rounds of biopanning, the enriched phages exhibited increased binding activity to N. atra venom. Four nanobody clones with high binding affinities were selected: aNAH1, aNAH6, aNAH7, and aNAH9. Specificity testing against venom from various snake species, including two Southeast Asian cobra species, revealed nanobodies specific to the genus Naja. An in vivo mouse venom neutralization assay demonstrated that all nanobodies prolonged mouse survival and aNAH6 protected 66.6% of the mice from the lethal dosage. These findings highlight the potential of phage display-derived nanobodies as valuable antidotes for N. atra venom, laying the groundwork for future applications in snakebite treatment. A map-based application is, by and large, useful to search for information about locations or places. The application, such as Google Maps, provides commuting or navigation information of a particular place. With the mobile version of Google Maps, people can get such information directly from their mobile devices. Google also has a directions interface that supports finding a navigational path between two specified locations. In recognizing an area surrounding the path, there is an algorithm to support that functionality, namely RouteBoxer. The recognized surrounding area can be utilized further by the application to identify places nearby. In finding a path's surrounding area, the RouteBoxer algorithm defines a grid of rectangles that cover the whole path and marks rectangles nearby by traversing the path. However, the algorithm's computational performance becomes unacceptably slow when the path contains many path points. The RouteBoxer algorithm accepts a collection of geolocation points to represent the path and a user-specified distance away from the path to identify the area surrounding the path. This research measures the algorithm performance while incorporating the Douglas-Peucker line simplification algorithm to reduce the number of points processed by the RouteBoxer algorithm, hence improve its processing performance. An experiment shows that the path simplification process reduces up to 99% points of a path, improves the original RouteBoxer calculation performance up to 87.8 times faster, and maintains its precision above 92.6%. © 2020 ACM.

Boron nitride (BN) is an exceptional material and among its polymorphs, two-dimensional (2D) hexagonal and three-dimensional (3D) cubic BN (h-BN and c-BN) phases are most common. The phase stability regimes of these BN phases are still under debate and phase transformations of h-BN/c-BN remain a topic of interest. Here, we investigate the phase stability of 2D/3D h-BN/c-BN nanocomposites and show that the co-existence of two phases can lead to strong non-linear optical properties and low thermal conductivity at room temperature. Furthermore, spark-plasma sintering of the nanocomposite shows complete phase transformation to 2D h-BN with improved crystalline quality, where 3D c-BN grain sizes governs the nucleation and growth kinetics. Our demonstration might be insightful in phase engineering of BN polymorphs based nanocomposites with desirable properties for optoelectronics and thermal energy management applications. © 2023, CC BY.

Effects of Built Environment on Bus Trip Rates under Rail Transit Competition

It's important to explore ways to integrate bus and rail transit by combining both the effects of the built environment and their competition. Using Wuhan city in China as a case study, this study develops gradient boosting decision trees(GBDTs) to examine the threshold range of built environment impacts on bus transit trip rates and to further explore the competitive impacts of rail transit on bus transit within these threshold ranges. The results show that when the number of service point-of-interests(POIs) within a 500 m radius of bus stop reaches 350 and the distance to the destination is 5 km, the model split of bus transit is the highest. The competition impact shows that rail transit promotes bus transit trip rates in urban fringe areas, but restricts in high-density central areas and the regions dominated by short distance trips. These findings provide technical support for optimizing spatial layouts through transit-oriented development. © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

As a rich country in genetic resources, Indonesia has the potential for strengthening food security. Maize is one of the commodities that greatly affect food security in Indonesia. Maize is also widely used as animal feed. The high demand for maize requires efforts to increase the productivity of sustainable cultivation. Various research efforts that have been carried out require the support of a comprehensive information system. This study aimed to build a research model for maize genetic resource information systems that can help search for superior varieties. The data collection method used was collecting genotype, phenotype, climate data and interviewing the maize breeders or researchers. As for the design of the model, this study used the Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) method with notation from Unified Modelling Language (UML). The result of this research was a web-based model of information systems for maize research.

A vast number of algorithms for robots assume a given schedule that ensures the simultaneous LOOK (observing the location of all other non-moving robots), only then simultaneous COMPUTE (computing the target for moving) and only then simultaneous MOVE (LCM). The assumption on the existence of synchronization signal for movements, when other robots do not LOOK is questionable. We present several self-stabilizing techniques to implement such a scheduler using global/local clock pulses and thus converting the vast numbers of robot algorithms that assume the LCM schedule, to eliminate this assumption at once. Namely, we present implementation of a move-atomic property scheduler, where robots possess an independent clock that is advanced at the same *** realize it by applying the neighborhood mutual remainder. PlantPAN 4.0 (http://***/) is an integrative resource for constructing transcriptional regulatory networks for diverse plant species. In this release, the gene annotation and promoter sequences were expanded to cover 115 species. PlantPAN 4.0 can help users characterize the evolutionary differences and similarities among cis-regulatory elements;furthermore, this system can now help in identification of conserved non-coding sequences among homologous genes. The updated transcription factor binding site repository contains 3428 nonredundant matrices for 18305 transcription factors;this expansion helps in exploration of combinational and nucleotide variants of cis-regulatory elements in conserved non-coding sequences. Additionally, the genomic landscapes of regulatory factors were manually updated, and ChIP-seq data sets derived from a single-cell green alga (Chlamydomonas reinhardtii) were added. Furthermore, the statistical review and graphical analysis components were improved to offer intelligible information through ChIP-seq data analysis. These improvements included easy-to-read experimental condition clusters, searchable gene-centered interfaces for the identification of promoter regions’ binding preferences by considering experimental condition clusters and peak visualization for all regulatory factors, and the 20 most significantly enriched gene ontology functions for regulatory factors. Thus, PlantPAN 4.0 can effectively reconstruct gene regulatory networks and help compare genomic cis-regulatory elements across plant species and experiments. © The Author(s) 2023.
