Automated language translation involving low-resource language has gained wide interest from many research communities in the past decade. One lesson learned from the past COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in Indonesia, is that many local Governments have to release regular public announcements to keep people following health protocol especially when they are in public areas. Many studies showed some evidence that rural people in Indonesia which covers a large proportion of Indonesia's population, feel more convenience receiving official announcements in their local language. However, translating official announcement from the national language to many local languages in Indonesia require many experienced bilingual translators and time. This paper presents exploration results in developing an automated language translator model to translate texts in Bahasa Indonesia to the Sundanese language. In particular, this study aims to explore the effect of ReLU, Sigmoid, and Tanh activation functions of the Vanilla Transformer Model on its translation performance. The experiment results showed that the activation function under study gives similar training accuracy (0.98). However, ReLU achieves better performance than Tanh in terms of validation accuracy, training loss, and validation loss. © 2023 IEEE.

Echo state network(ESN),a kind of recurrent neural networks,consists of a fixed reservoir in which neurons are connected randomly and recursively and obtains the desired output only by training output connection ***-order reduced and controlled error(FORCE) learning is an online supervised training approach that can change the chaotic activity of ESNs into specified activity *** paper proposes a composite FORCE learning method based on recursive least squares to train ESNs whose initial activity is spontaneously chaotic,where a composite learning technique featured by dynamic regressor extension and memory data exploitation is applied to enhance parameter *** proposed method is applied to a benchmark problem about predicting chaotic time series generated by the Mackey-Glass system,and numerical results have shown that it significantly improves learning and prediction performances compared with existing methods.

Pilot contamination can spoil the accuracy of channel estimation and then has become one of the key problems influencing the performance of massive multiple input multiple output(MIMO)*** paper proposes a method based on cell classification and users grouping to mitigate the pilot contamination in multi-cell massive MIMO systems and improve the spectral *** pilots of the terminals are allocated onebit orthogonal identifier to diminish the cell categories by the operation of exclusive OR(XOR).At the same time,the users are divided into edge user groups and central user groups according to the large-scale fading coefficients by the clustering algorithm,and different pilot sequences are assigned to different *** simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the spectral efficiency of multi-cell massive MIMO systems.

In recent years, receiver (RX) feedback communication has attracted increasing attention to enhance the charging performance for magnetic resonant coupling (MRC) based wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. People prefer to adopt the in-band implementation with minimal overhead costs. However, the influence of RX-RX coupling couldn't be directly ignored like that in the RFID field, i.e., strong couplings and relay phenomenon. In order to solve these two critical issues, we propose a Robust layer-level in-band parallel communication protocol for MIMO MRC-WPT systems (called Roland). Technically, we first utilize the observed channel decomposability to construct group-level channel relationship graph for eliminating the interference caused by strong RX-RX couplings. Then, we generalize such method to deal with the RX dependency due to relay phenomenon. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on a prototype testbed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The results demonstrate that our Roland could provide ≥95% average decoding accuracy for concurrent feedback communication of 14 devices. Compared with the state-of-the-art solution, the proposed protocol Roland can achieve an average decoding accuracy improvement of 20.41%. © 2023 IEEE.

Social media has been a very popular tool for spreading information recently. Particularly on Instagram, where users favor taking images and sharing the information they encounter. @jktinfo is the Instagram account that posts information about the situation in Jakarta and the area, including the current weather. The @jktinfo account is utilized in this project to gather data. Utilizing a variety of techniques, the collected photographs of sunny, cloudy, and wet situations were. © 2023 The Authors. In recent years, making computers understand the emotions of users is necessary because emotions are an important factor in human communication. Among many methods of recognizing emotions, EEG is widely used because it has high temporal resolution and it is impossible to disguise intentionally. However, it is necessary to acquire new user data and construct the personal Emotion recognition model since EEG varies widely among individuals. The conventional methods lack practicality because it builds a different model for every new user data. Our method builds a model in a single training using new user data. To reduce the number of new user data for training and to relieve the burden of EEG measurement, we adapt existing user data. We absorb the individual differences in EEG between a new user and existing users by domain adaptation using a small number of new user data and construct a model by deep neural networks. From the experiments, we confirmed that the proposed method performs as well as the conventional methods, even though it is built with single training using new user data. © 2022 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

Deep neural network (DNN) based scene text recognition (STR) methods usually require a large amount of annotated data for training, which is time-consuming and cost-expensive in practice. To address this issue, many data augmentation methods have been developed to train recognizers by improving the diversity of training samples. However, most existing methods neglect the difficulty inherent in samples, and easily suffer from the problem of over-diversity, i.e., the distribution of the augmented data significantly deviates from that of clean data. In this paper, we propose a novel difficulty-aware data augmentation framework for scene text recognition, which jointly considers the difficulty of samples and the strength of augmentations. Specifically, our framework first predicts the sample difficulty, followed by an adaptive data augmentation strategy. Furthermore, we build a more diverse set of augmentation methods for STR and integrate it into our augmentation framework. Extensive experiments on scene text recognition benchmarks show that our augmentation framework significantly improves the performance of recognizers. © 2023 IEEE.

Indoor positioning systems (IPS) are critical for enabling accurate navigation, asset tracking, and emergency response in indoor environments where GPS fails. This study evaluates five machine learning algorithms-K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Decision Tree, and Random Forest-using two benchmark datasets, UJIIndoorLoc and UTSIndoorLoc. The results reveal that SVM achieves the highest accuracy, with 81.3 % on UJIIndoorLoc and 92 % on UTSIndoorLoc, followed by MLP with $\mathbf{7 8. 8 \%}$ and 90.9 %, respectively. Random Forest provides stable performance, with 77.6 % and 86.08 %, while KNN reaches 75 % and 89.7 %, performing well in structured environments. Decision Tree shows the lowest accuracy, 71.2 % and 76.54 %, highlighting its limitations with complex data. The UTSIndoorLoc dataset consistently yields higher accuracies, demonstrating its structured signal distribution. These findings underscore SVM and MLP as optimal algorithms for Wi-Fi fingerprinting IPS, offering robust and scalable solutions for indoor localization.

The gender gap in science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields highlights significant research opportunities, particularly in examining the employability of female graduates. This study introduces a novel machine learning framework integrating Clustering and Multi-target Classification to analyze employment waiting time and job linearity among women STEM alumni. Using K-Means Clustering and Multi-Target Logistic Regression, the framework achieved a classification accuracy of 77% and a silhouette score of 0.61, demonstrating its effectiveness in predictive analysis. Beyond these results, the framework offers a robust methodology for integrating Clustering with Classification, enabling a nuanced understanding of the employability challenges faced by women in STEM. This approach identifies key patterns in employment data, paving the way for targeted interventions and actionable insights. Furthermore, the findings aim to inform data-driven policymaking and future research to improve employability outcomes. This work contributes to addressing systemic challenges and fostering gender diversity in STEM careers while enhancing opportunities for women.
