Conceptual modeling captures Information Systems requirements and specifications in a graphical representation at a high-level without including low-level implementation details. Entity Relationship Model (ER Model) and Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) are two major conceptual models for modeling respectively data and process aspects of an Information System. On the other hand, Conceptual Artifact Model (CAM) is an alternative conceptual model for modeling both data and process aspects in a single model based on the notion of Artifacts. In this article, we formalize the CAM and define algorithms for generating both Database and Workflow specifications from this model. These specifications are then used to create the Relational Database and execute the Workflow of the Information System. Benefits of such alternative modeling approach are not limited to reducing the time and effort of designing Information Systems but also of implementing them. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, much attention has been paid to the development of evolutionary computation algorithms that can perform well not only on benchmark problems but also on real optimization problems. Wind Turbine Design optimization Problem (WTDOP) is a real optimization problem in Evolutionary Computation Competition in Japan. WTDOP has 22 constraints and they are described as black-box constraint functions. From previous studies, it was found that WTDOP has a multi-modal landscape fitness function. Hori et al. performed optimization by established a new evaluation function which includes objective function value and a penalty value of constraint violations and by using iDEaSm which is an evolutionary computation algorithm. However there were two issues. One is a fixed penalty which was added to the objective value of solution. Another is that the variety of solutions is not ensured. In order to overcome such issues, in this paper, two improvements are proposed and examined. One of the improvements is the adaptive evaluation function. By changing the penalty depending on the search depth, it is possible to search the boundary between the infeasible and feasible regions without eliminating the infeasible solutions in the early or middle stage of the search. Another is an additional mutation of solution candidates. The additional mutations ensure diversity stochastically and allow the search to continue after the initial convergence. From the comparison between proposed and previous algorithms, our proposed algorithm could find better solutions. Therefore, our proposed algorithm may have better possibility to solve other real optimization problems. © 2023 IEEE.

As the dengue infection still impacts hundreds of millions of people globally, unprecedented efforts in dengue drug development have been more progressive in recent decades. Computational methods provide a fast, sustainable, and efficient screening of active compounds and newly created drug molecules, including those specifically targeting nonstructural proteins (NS) of dengue viruses. In this work, protein modeling for the NS proteins of DENV-2/16681 strain was performed using a template-based homology modeling for the NS3 protein and an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based prediction via AlphaFold for the NS4B protein. Moreover, the protein-protein interaction between the two structures was predicted using the HADDOCK server, which employs information about active and passive residues of the interaction interface to guide the docking process. After the modeling and its respective refinement process, the predicted structures of NS3 and NS4B improved their steric clashing scoring from MolProbity assessment. The refined models were then docked, and the resulting docking pose was analyzed to extract the interacting residues based on the polar contacts within the interface of the two proteins. Our result presents a preliminary study to create a dataset related to in silico molecular interactions of the NS3-NS4B interaction of different DENV types. It is helpful for building a computational pipeline for elucidating protein-ligand problems in dengue drug screenings. © 2024 The Authors.

Many real-world data are naturally represented as a sparse reorderable matrix, whose rows and columns can be arbitrarily ordered (e.g., the adjacency matrix of a bipartite graph). Storing a sparse matrix in conventional ways requires an amount of space linear in the number of non-zeros, and lossy compression of sparse matrices (e.g., Truncated SVD) typically requires an amount of space linear in the number of rows and columns. In this work, we propose NeuKron for compressing a sparse reorderable matrix into a constant-size space. NeuKron generalizes Kronecker products using a recurrent neural network with a constant number of parameters. NeuKron updates the parameters so that a given matrix is approximated by the product and reorders the rows and columns of the matrix to facilitate the approximation. The updates take time linear in the number of non-zeros in the input matrix, and the approximation of each entry can be retrieved in logarithmic time. We also extend NeuKron to compress sparse reorderable tensors (e.g. multi-layer graphs), which generalize matrices. Through experiments on ten real-world datasets, we show that NeuKron is (a) Compact: requiring up to five orders of magnitude less space than its best competitor with similar approximation errors, (b) Accurate: giving up to 10 × smaller approximation error than its best competitors with similar size outputs, and (c) Scalable: successfully compressing a matrix with over 230 million non-zero entries. © 2023 ACM.

The industry is rapidly transitioning from the 4.0 era to the 5.0 era, prompting renewed interest among scholars in scheduling problems. They allow operations to process and assemble various components simultaneously. This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive understanding of the diverse research perspectives on the potential challenges of integrated scheduling within the framework. We identified 357 Scopus articles and analysed co-occurrence keyword (CNK) by VOSViewer tools and Global Citation Score (GCS) by Scopus tools. The research data obtained from 1993 to 2023 mainly in the subject areas of Engineering, computer science, Maths, and others. CNK identified six cluster keywords, and nine most cited articles based on normalised GCS. These results contribute to our understanding of the development of scheduling algorithms, shifting from an emphasis on manufacturing transfers to contemporary demand-centric research directions. Furthermore, this research provides a valuable perspective for policymakers, plant personnel, and manufacturing managers to make informed decisions.

The RoboCupRescue Simulation (RRS) is a project that uses multi-agent systems to address real-world problems. RRS needs to perform an optimal task assignment for various disaster relief teams (agents) to minimize the damage caused by disasters. In previous studies, the RRS task assignment problem was modeled as a distributed constraint optimization problem (DCOP) and its effectiveness was confirmed. The DCOP can handle cooperative actions by one type of agent, but it cannot handle cooperative actions by multiple types of agents. To achieve this cooperative behavior, task assignment must take into account the order constraints of multiple types of tasks. It is also difficult for the DCOP to consider the dynamic environment. RRS should consider the dynamic environment because disaster conditions change over time. To consider the dynamic environment, task assignment must take into account the time window constraints of the task. Therefore, the objective of this study is to realize a disaster relief agent that performs task assignment considering the task order and time window constraints for RRS. First, the task assignment problem of RRS was modeled as a layered DCOP (L-DCOP) and L-DCOP was applied to RRS. Next, the rescue abilities and behavior of the L-DCOP agent applying the L-DCOP were compared with those of the DCOP agent applying the DCOP. The results confirmed the effectiveness of the L-DCOP agent and its ability to perform given the constraints of the task. © 2023 IEEE.

The use of technology nowadays does not feel strange. Social media is a tool that can be used by people to become with each other by creating, sharing, and exchanging information virtually through a network. However, in the current era, the notion of social media is not only about exchanging information, but also to support business products. The problem is how to compete tightly in this modern era in increasing the selling value of business products. The positive impact of social media for sales in business products are huge such as, increase sales, increase product promotion, greater market distribution. On the other side, the negative impact also takes part such as, the more competitors, the products compete fiercely in the market. This research aims to identify more the impact of social media on sales of business products that focused on business, benefit, and factor. The research method that we used is quantitative which focuses on the number of samples of respondents to support the research results and the results are in the form of a graphic that shows the answers of the respondents to the questionnaire. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper describes an efficient unsupervised learning method for a neural source separation model that utilizes a probabilistic generative model of observed multichannel mixtures proposed for blind source separation (BSS). For this purpose, amortized variational inference (AVI) has been used for directly solving the inverse problem of BSS with full-rank spatial covariance analysis (FCA). Although this unsupervised technique called neural FCA is in principle free from the domain mismatch problem, it is computationally demanding due to the full rankness of the spatial model in exchange for robustness against relatively short reverberations. To reduce the model complexity without sacrificing performance, we propose neural FastFCA based on the jointly-diagonalizable yet full-rank spatial model. Our neural separation model introduced for AVI alternately performs neural network blocks and single steps of an efficient iterative algorithm called iterative source steering. This alternating architecture enables the separation model to quickly separate the mixture spectrogram by leveraging both the deep neural network and the multichannel optimization algorithm. The training objective with AVI is derived to maximize the marginalized likelihood of the observed mixtures. The experiment using mixture signals of two to four sound sources shows that neural FastFCA outperforms conventional BSS methods and reduces the computational time to about 2 % of that for the neural FCA. © 2023 European Signal Processing Conference, EUSIPCO. Visual SLAM-based Vehicle Control for Autonomous Valet Parking

This research proposes an efficient vehicle control method using visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) for AVP (Autonomous Valet Parking). SLAM technology generates a map of the surrounding environment and localizes the vehicle within the map. It is used to identify the layout of the parking lot and track the vehicle by using camera sensors only. In the proposed system, an autonomous driving vehicle is controlled using the coordinates of the keyframe on the visual SLAM map. The vehicle is driven by determining the keyframe in the movable position during the autonomous driving process. This driving procedure is possible because the coordinates of the vehicle and the keyframe can be estimated through the SLAM map. However, the SLAM map, generated using features of the surrounding environment, is likely to change scale while driving due to feature matching errors. Therefore, the system proposes to update the initial scale using the time the vehicle has moved and the changes in vehicle coordinates on the SLAM map. The tracking success rate of autonomous driving and the success rate of autonomous parking were measured to evaluate the performance of the proposed system. The experimental results indicate that autonomous valet parking can be achieved using visual SLAM. © 2022 The Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers.

Cosmic MeV gamma-ray observations are important for elucidating physics in high-energy objects such as gamma-ray bursts and active galactic nuclear jet blazars, for detecting nuclear gamma-rays in supernova explosions, and for advancing multi-messenger astronomy. However, there has been no progress since the COMPTEL detector on board the CGRO satellites in the 1990s, and a satellite for MeV gamma-ray observations is essential. Compton scattering is the dominant interaction between MeV gamma-rays and matter. The minimal way to reconstruct the arrival direction of an incident gamma-ray is to utilize both the deposit energy and hit position measured in both the scatterer and absorber, giving an event circle. The circle can be reduced to an arc if the initial direction of the Compton scattered electron is measured. Thus such an electron-tracking Compton camera is expected to improve the source sensitivity by reducing background events. Therefore, our goal is to enable more accurate Compton imaging by using an event-driven SOI pixel detector "XRPIX" as a scatterer in an electron-track Compton camera. The pixel size of XRPIX is as small as 36 um square, so it is expected to capture electron trajectories for scattering of gamma-rays of several hundred keV. In this contribution, we report on the evaluation of the depletion layer thickness of XRPIX8.5, which can be fully depleted at room temperature, the sensor response when irradiated with gamma-rays such as 662 keV of Cs-137 and 511 keV of Na-22, and a method for estimating the direction of scattered electrons. © Copyright owned by the author(s) under the terms of the Creative Commons.
