Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composites are being increasingly used for load bearing structural elements in large transport rotorcraft. However, due to the increased stiffness-to-density ratio of composites, problems associated with vibration and interior noise can be exacerbated by the use of composites in airframes. The current investigation explores the potential of optimized composite meta-structures to reduce vibration and interior noise in rotorcraft. The approach involves designing a taper into the thickness of blade stiffeners which, when combined with a limited amount of absorbing material in the thinned region, creates what is known as an "acoustic black hole" (ABH) in the stiffener. It is hypothesized that optimally designed ABH stiffeners can reduce broadband vibrations in stiffened panels. An optimization routine has been developed to determine the tradeoffs between vibration, mass, and buckling load due to compression parallel to the stiffeners. The tradeoffs are visualized using a 3-D Pareto front that helps the designer decide on the optimal design. Carbon/epoxy panels were made using vacuum-bag-oven processing with out-of-autoclave prepreg and verified to be of good quality. Panel vibration, buckling onset, and post-buckling load-deflection behavior were simulated using finite elements and measured using model testing and compression testing. Based on preliminary results, ABH-tapered stiffened panels have the ability to reduce radiated noise without a significant penalty in the mass and compressive load-bearing capability. This research introduces a biodegradable smart packaging film designed for real-time freshness monitoring of shrimp, incorporating zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and anthocyanin extracted from Hibiscus rosa-sinensis L. as a pH-responsive indicator. The film matrix, composed of cassava starch, chitosan, and glycerin, was reinforced with varying concentrations of ZnO (0 %, 6 %, and 10 %). Structural characterization via X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the successful incorporation of ZnO into the biopolymer matrix. Notably, the film containing 6 % ZnO exhibited the highest crystallinity index (12.23 %) compared to the control (10.29 %) and the 10 % ZnO variant (10.81 %). Mechanical property assessments indicated that the 6 % ZnO film demonstrated superior tensile strength (0.78 MPa) and Young's modulus (2.84 MPa). However, increasing the ZnO content resulted in a decrease in elongation at break, from 41.52 % in the control to 27.65 % in the 10 % ZnO film. Water interaction analyses revealed improved water resistance with ZnO incorporation, as evidenced by a reduction in water solubility from 38.12 % (control) to 28.45 % (10 % ZnO). Biodegradation assays showed a slower degradation rate in ZnO-reinforced films (56.42 % for 6 % ZnO and 49.87 % for 10 % ZnO) compared to the control (68.15 %) over 15 days, likely attributable to the hydrophobic nature of ZnO nanoparticles. Functionally, the film demonstrated effective spoilage detection through visible colorimetric transitions, shifting from reddish-purple to bluish-green within 24 h of shrimp storage, corresponding to pH changes associated with degradation. Overall, the findings underscore the potential of ZnO-reinforced, starch-based films as eco-friendly and smart packaging materials for enhancing food safety and quality monitoring. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

MSC Codes 83Greybody factors are transmission probabilities of the Hawking radiation, which are emitted from black holes and can be obtained from the gravitational potential of black holes. The de Rham, Gabadadze, and Tolly (dRGT) massive gravity is one of the gravity theories that modified general relativity. In this paper, we investigate the greybody factor from the massive scalar field in both the asymptotically dS and the AdS spacetime using the WKB and the rigorous bound methods. We found that the greybody factor depends on the shape of the potential as found in quantum mechanics. The higher the potential barrier, the lower the amount of the grebody factor. Interestingly, for the low multipole case, we found that there exists a critical mass which provides the maximum bound of the greybody factor. This is a crucial feature of the massive scalar field on the greybody factor from the black holes in both the asymptotically dS and the AdS spacetime. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Here we consider the problem of denoising features associated to complex data, modeled as signals on a graph, via a smoothness prior. This is motivated in part by settings such as single-cell RNA where the data is very high-dimensional, but its structure can be captured via an affinity graph. This allows us to utilize ideas from graph signal processing. In particular, we present algorithms for the cases where the signal is perturbed by Gaussian noise, dropout, and uniformly distributed noise. The signals are assumed to follow a prior distribution defined in the frequency domain which favors signals which are smooth across the edges of the graph. By pairing this prior distribution with our three models of noise generation, we propose Maximum A Posteriori (M.A.P.) estimates of the true signal in the presence of noisy data and provide algorithms for computing the M.A.P. Finally, we demonstrate the algorithms' ability to effectively restore signals from white noise on image data and from severe dropout in single-cell RNA sequence data. © 2023, CC BY.

This paper examines the reproducibility of massive information analytics under particular factors. The paper proposes the 'performing Scalable Inference' technique to cope with scalability troubles and to exploit current big statistics platforms for efficient computing and statistics garage of the statistics. In particular, the paper describes how to perform leak-free, parallelizable visible analytics over massive datasets using present extensive records analytics frameworks such as Apache Flink. This method presents an automated manner to execute analytics that preserves reproducibility and the ability to make adjustments without re-running the entire technique. The paper also demonstrates how these analytics may help several real-world use instances, explore affected person cohorts for studies, and develop stratified patient cohorts for hospital therapy. In the end, the paper observes how the proposed method may be exercised within the real world. Actively scalable inference for massive information analytics is pivotal in optimizing decision-making and allocation of assets. Typically, such inferences are made based on information accumulated from numerous sources, databases, unstructured data, and different digital sources. So one can ensure scalability, a complete cloud-primarily based platform has to be hired. This solution will permit the ***, deploying the essential records series and evaluation algorithms are prime here. It could permit the platform to recognize the styles inside the statistics and discover any ability correlations or traits. Additionally, predictive analytics and system mastering strategies may be incorporated to provide insights into the results of the information. Hyperuniformity scaling of maximally random jammed packings of two-dimensional binary disks

Jammed (mechanically rigid) polydisperse circular-disk packings in two dimensions (2D) are popular models for structural glass formers. Maximally random jammed (MRJ) states, which are the most disordered packings subject to strict jamming, have been shown to be hyperuniform. The characterization of the hyperuniformity of MRJ circular-disk packings has covered only a very small part of the possible parameter space for the disk-size distributions. Hyperuniform heterogeneous media are those that anomalously suppress large-scale volume-fraction fluctuations compared to those in typical disordered systems, i.e., their spectral densities χV (k) tend to zero as the wavenumber k ≡ |k| tends to zero and are often described by the power-law χV (k) ∼ kα as k → 0 where α is the so-called hyperuniformity scaling exponent. In this work, we generate and characterize the structure of strictly jammed binary circular-disk packings with a size ratio β = DL/DS, where DL and DS are the large and small disk diameters, respectively, and molar ratio of the two disk sizes is 1:1. In particular, by characterizing the rattler fraction φR, the fraction of configurations in an ensemble with fixed β that are isostatic, and the n-fold orientational order metrics n of ensembles of packings with a wide range of size ratios β, we show that size ratios 1.2 β 2.0 produce maximally random jammed (MRJ)-like states, which we show are the most disordered strictly jammed packings according to several criteria. Using the large-R scaling of the volume fraction variance σ2 V (R) associated with a spherical sampling window of radius R, we extract the hyperuniformity scaling exponent α from these packings, and find the function α (β) is maximized at β = 1.4 (with α = 0.450±0.002) within the range 1.2 ≤ β ≤ 2.0. Just outside of this range of β values, α (β) begins to decrease more quickly, and far outside of this range the packings are nonhyperuniform, i.e., α = 0. Models for the observational appearance of astrophysical black holes rely critically on accurate general-relativistic ray tracing and radiation transport to compute the intensity measured by a distant observer. In this paper, we illustrate how the choice of coordinates and initial conditions affect this process. In particular, we show that propagating rays from the camera to the source leads to different solutions if the spatial part of the momentum of the photon points towards the horizon or away from it. In doing this, we also show that coordinates that are well suited for numerical General-Relativistic MagnetoHydroDynamic (GRMHD) simulations are typically not optimal for generic ray tracing. We discuss the implications for black-hole images and show that radiation transport in optimal and non-optimal spacetime coordinates lead to the same images up to numerical errors and algorithmic choices. A publicly verifiable key sharing mechanism based on threshold key sharing is provided to explore the security of users' private keys on the blockchain. Participating nodes check the key fragment after receiving it, effectively preventing it from being abused. The crucial sections of the nodes that participated in the critical splicing are made public during the critical recovery stage to prevent them from performing harmful things during the critical recovery stage. Add IDs to the nodes that participated in the crucial splicing during the key distribution stage;a dynamic threshold system is intended to track and update the status of malicious nodes in real time. When the node that possesses the crucial component fails, the owner of the critical component and the main node relocate a key element to the new participating nodes. To safeguard sensitive information. This article describes the implementation of an advanced fiber-optic intensity sensor for the comprehensive detection of axles and bogies of rail vehicles in tram transport. The sensor uses the principle of optical fiber bending, where the intensity of transmitted light is modulated due to mechanical stress on the fiber caused by the passage of a tram and the subsequent reversible deformation of the rail. The innovative design of the sensor allows for its easy installation under the rail foot, between the rail and the sleeper, replacing conventional anti-vibration pads, and includes specially designed deformable elements which the optical fiber bends and modulates the transmitted light intensity. During long-term testing (11 months in various weather conditions) conducted in the real tram depot (Ostrava, Czech Republic), 20602 tram passages were secured and analyzed. The sensor demonstrated success in detecting bogies, achieving 100% accuracy with no false positives (FPs) or false negatives (FNs). Axle detection showed an average success rate of 86.1%, with variability among different tram types up to 97.8%. The signal modulation was also subjected to detailed analysis, revealing differences in responses between various tram types, which can be attributed to differences in bogie construction and vehicle weight. Due to its electromagnetic immunity, the implemented fiber-optic sensor offers the potential for more reliable detection and broad application possibilities, including track occupancy monitoring, speed measurement, or determining the direction of travel on single-track lines. With slight optimization, the sensor could also be used to weigh rail vehicles or as an axle counter in railway or light rail transport. © 1963-2012 IEEE.
