Until a ransom is paid, ransomware, a crypto virology virus, tries to disclose or constantly restrict access to the accused's confidential information. While simple ransomware may merely lock the computer without deleting any files, more sophisticated viruses employ a strategy called crypto viral blackmail. Files belonging to the victim are encrypted, rendering them unavailable, and a ransom demand is made to unlock them. Data belonging to the user is encrypted, making it illegible, and a ransom is demanded to open them. The characteristics of ransomware, its functionality, and its variations are addressed in this study. A thorough literature study is conducted to identify the research areas, defence mechanisms against ransomware assaults, and potential future applications of the prior studies in this field. © 2024 IEEE.

A magnetohydrodynamic flow of aluminum oxide, and copper nanoparticles in water based hybrid nanofluid with thermal radiation and rotation is investigated. The numerical solution of the model describing the flow is achieved through the implementation of the improved an overlapping spectral simple iteration method (O-SSIM). The accuracy is enhanced by the overlapping grid, which reduces the density of the coefficient matrix. The objective is to assess the efficiency of the O-SSIM on a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations that describe the hybrid nanofluid flow. The O-SSIM algorithm is implemented in MATLAB and tested for its convergence and accuracy. The accuracy of the O-SSIM are proved using the residual error analysis. The results are compared with previously published findings that were obtained using the overlapping spectral local linearization method. The nonlinear differential equations are linearised using the simple iteration method. The study aims to examine how various fluid parameters influence the characteristics of the hybrid nanofluid. The results presented the influence the stretching ratio, rotation, magnetic, and heat generation and absorption parameters on the temperature profile. The skin friction coefficients and Nusselt number were calculated and analyzed. It is found among other results, that the heat transfer rate of the hybrid nanofluid increased with both the volume fraction of copper nanoparticles and heat generation parameters. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

In this study, we investigate how cessationist sentiments and terrorist activities interact and propagate through space and time within the Nigerian context using first order nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations. Our model compartmentalizes the population, considering vulnerability, engagement, recovery, and non-vulnerability to these ideologies. Firstly, we solve the ordinary differential model and we later develop a finite difference numerical scheme from the diffusion model to simulate the diffusion process. By exploring this ordinary and spatial perspective, our research sheds light on the intertwined nature of cessationism and terrorism in Nigeria and contributes to informed policy responses and mitigation strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper focuses on developing a framework for uncovering insights about NDD children's performance (e.g., raw gaze cluster analysis, duration analysis & area of interest for sustained attention, stimuli expectancy, loss of focus/motivation, inhibitory control) and informing their teachers. The hypothesis behind this work is that self-adaptation of games can contribute to improving students' well-being and performance by suggesting personalized activities (e.g., highlighting stimuli to increase attention or choosing a difficulty level that matches students' abilities). The aim is to examine how AI can be used to help solve this problem. The results would not only contribute to a better understanding of the problems of NDD children and their teachers but also help psychologists to validate the results against their clinical knowledge, improve communication with patients and identify areas for further investigation, e.g., by explaining the decision made and preserving the children's private data in the learning process. © 2024 IEEE.

Among all the prediction techniques, the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) shows excellent performance. The ANN technique has a momentum rate to slow down the ANN learning process. However, the value of the momentum rate has no restriction since it is commonly based on the experiment with different values as presented in the previous studies. In this regard, the objective of this study is to formulate a momentum rate to achieve a better prediction result. The proposed momentum rate equation was tested on three ANN models. Subsequently, the 3-2-1 network emerged as the best network based on the smallest mean square error. To evaluate the proposed momentum rate, a problem based on a real company situation in producing audio products was considered. Cycle time of the new audio products at its semi-automatic production line was predicted based on several factors, which were manpower shortage, material preparation time and machine breakdowns through the 3-2-1 network. As a result, the best cycle time to complete new audio products can be estimated accurately. In conclusion, the proposed momentum rate can improve the convergence of the ANN learning process for a better prediction result. Consequently, audio products delivery is smooth and fulfil customer’s demands. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper proposes an optimal energy management approach for electricity distribution systems integrating electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and distributed generation sources such as wind and solar power. A two-layer dispatch model is established to maximize the revenue of EV charging stations while ensuring safe and economical operation of the distribution network. The upper layer employs a time-of-use electricity pricing strategy and the Lagrangian relaxation method to achieve orderly charging dispatch of multiple EV types. The lower layer formulates an optimal dispatching model considering constraints like power flow balance, node voltage limits, and line transmission capacity. The objective is to minimize operational costs, including network losses, violation penalties, distributed generation output adjustment costs, and electricity purchase costs, while maximizing revenue from EV charging. The Hybrid Chicken Swarm Genetic Algorithm (HCSGA) approach, integrating chicken swarm optimization and genetic algorithms, is proposed to solve the dispatch model efficiently. Simulation results on an IEEE 33-node test system validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in improving voltage profiles, reducing losses, and ensuring grid stability under high EV charging demand and renewable generation uncertainties. The developed strategy facilitates the large-scale integration of EVs and distributed energy resources into distribution networks while maintaining reliable and economical operation. © 2024 IEEE.

A novel technique,named auxiliary equation method,is applied in this research work for obtaining new traveling wave solutions for two interesting proposed systems:the Kaup-Boussinesq system and generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KdV system with beta time fractional *** solutions were obtained using MAPLE *** technique shows a great potential to be applied in solving various nonlinear fractional differential equations arising from mathematical physics and ocean *** a standard equation has not been used as an auxiliary equation for this technique,different and novel solutions are obtained via this technique.

In the event of an emergency evacuation, the total time taken to reach the main exit happens critical and important. The time taken reflected the barriers such as blockages and queuing process. Although the Uniform Building By-Law has mandatory declared that each building must follow the standard evacuation preparedness procedure, the building owner is unaware of the best evacuation model to be implemented. Besides, the owner has a problem with the suitability and high cost incurred if they directly implement the model. Therefore, this study proposes to model the simulation approaches in assessing evacuation models to identify the best model based on the building layout. Pathfinder, AnyLogic, and PedGo are the three-simulation software used in this study. The comparison has been made by conducting six simulation studies using 50, 100 and 150 occupants as the design parameter, with six attributes implemented in each simulation software. A high-rise 14th-floor plan was used as the case study to evaluate the actual scenarios of an evacuation. As a result, the Pathfinder evacuation model shows the lowest average time taken percentage, with the lowest mean value of 300.9983, ANOVA test with a significant value of 0.024, which is less than 0.05. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
