Event-based cameras are inspired by the way the retina in the eye process information. Rather than capturing image frames at a constant rate, event cameras generate data asynchronously, based on changes in pixel value between frames. As a result, these cameras have a high spatiotemporal accuracy, low power constraints and reduced artefacts from motion blur. Hence, they represent favourable properties for digitizing highly dynamic manufacturing tasks such as machine vibrations and rapid human assembly actions. However, the costs of event-based cameras are prohibitively high for small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs). In this research, we present the development of a rig that combines low-cost visual sensors with low-cost algorithms to perform action recognition for highly dynamic manual manufacturing tasks. We applied our algorithms to achieve an action classification system via a novel threshold-based approach and in parallel use a neural network to perform classification of objects in the video feed. The results achieved demonstrated that our approach was able to successfully identify various rapid manual tasks being performed on identified objects. In addition to SMEs, our approach would be suited for providing low-cost digitization on legacy machines. © This is an open access article published by the IET under the Creative Commons Attribution License (http://***/licenses/by/3.0/).

For a class of uncertain large-scale interconnected systems, a design method of decentralized variable gain robust controllers with guaranteed { mathcal{L}-{control}} gain performance based on piecewise Lyapunov functions is shown in this paper. Furthermore, LMI-based sufficient conditions for the existence of the proposed decentralized variable gain robust controller are shown. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed robust controller is presented through a simple numerical example. © 2022 IEEE.

The vibrations generated by rock blasting are a serious and hazardous outcome of these activities,causing harmful effects on the surrounding environment as well as the nearby *** the local ecology and human communities suffer from the consequences of these *** the severity of blasting vibrations necessitates a thorough evaluation of Peak Particle Velocity(PPV)and frequency,which are essential parameters for measuring vibration *** prediction of vibration occurrence is critically ***,this study employs five machine learning models for predicting the PPV and frequency resulting from quarry *** work compares five machine learning models(XGBoost,Catboost,Bagging,Gradient Boosting,and Random Forest Regression)to choose the most efficient performance *** performance evaluation of each five machine learning models demonstrates each model achieved a performance of more than 0.90 during the testing phase,there was a strong correlation observed between the actual and the predicted *** analysis of performance metrics shows Catboost regression model demonstrate better performance prediction comparing with the other models with R^(2)=0.983,MSE=0.000078,RMSE=0.008,NRMSE=0.019,MAD=0.004,MAPE=35.197 in the PPV prediction,and R^(2)=0.975,MSE=0.000243,RMSE=0.015,NRMSE=0.031,MAD=0.008,MAPE=37.281 for the frequency *** study will help mining engineers and blasting experts to select the best machine learning model and its hyperparameters in estimating ground vibration,and *** the context of the mining and civil industry,the application of this study offers significant potential for enhancing safety protocols and optimizing operational *** employing machine learning models,this research aims to accurately predict and assess ground vibrations with frequency resulting from rock blasting.

Network optimization and continued availability depend on a number of capabilities that are part of network management. The Maintenance, operating and also offering a safeguarded interaction network is very complicated. It calls for the network operators to grapple with low-level vendor particular arrangements to execute the high degree network policies which are complicated. A method for monitoring networks with OpenFlow controller is presented in this paper in two separate functions for the same networks. Bandwidth utilization, Meter values, charts and statistics are provided by the method to extend controller monitoring capabilities. The method architecture and implementation will be introduced in order to present the feature set. Additionally, softswitches are used as a switch and Mininet to evaluate a virtualized network. This analysis shows whether Meters or ports value is better for network management.

In this paper, we present a novel visual servoing (VS) approach based on latent Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Models (DDPMs), that explores the application of generative models for vision-based navigation of UAVs (Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles). Opposite to classical VS methods, the proposed approach allows reaching the desired target view, even when the target is initially not visible. This is possible thanks to the learning of a latent representation that the DDPM uses for planning and a dataset of trajectories encompassing target-invisible initial views. A compact representation is learned from raw images using a Cross-Modal Variational Autoencoder. Given the current image, the DDPM generates trajectories in the latent space driving the robotic platform to the desired visual target. The approach has been validated in simulation using two generic multi-rotor UAVs (a quadrotor and a hexarotor). The results show that we can successfully reach the visual target, even if not visible in the initial view. A video summary with simulations can be found in: https://***/2Hb3nkkcszE.

“The cloud“ points out to servers, the databases and software that run on those servers. The Internet has always been constructed of infrastructure, servers and clients. Clients send their requests to servers, and servers reply, but cloud computing is distinct in the form that cloud servers are not just replying to requests with on-demand processing but they are saving data and running programs instead of the client. Cloud computing is a technology that is crossing a great expansion today. In cloud computing you can dynamically expand resources without knowledge of a new infrastructure, without developing new software or preparing new staff and to access such great technology the only things that are asked for are an Internet connection and an Internet browser. The goal of this survey is to present the different cloud security threats and recognize the proper security mechanism used to reduce them.

Decarbonization of the whole energy chain has been recognized as a measure to tackle the global challenge of climate change, and significant progress has already been made on the generation side to integrate renewable energy. However, the demand side is the single largest underlying factor in shaping decarbonization roadmap. Hence, the carbon emission cost should also be shared by the users according to their power consumption. In this paper, a joint electricity-carbon trading framework is designed to reduce the carbon emission through trading and demand response. A delayed carbon emission liability settlement for asynchronous markets is proposed to ameliorate the users' optimal decision from single-point optimization to interval-based optimization. To develop the optimal strategy of trading within the proposed mechanism, an improved proximal policy optimization (PPO) algorithm based on Monte Carlo reward sampling is applied. Simulation studies reveal that, compared with the market without carbon trading and users without delayed settlement, the proposed mechanism has achieved a carbon emission reduction by 40.7% and 12.7% respectively. Simulations also show the algorithm's training efficiency can be significantly improved with the proposed Monte Carlo sampling method. © 2023 IEEE.

Secret key generation(SKG)is an emerging technology to secure wireless communication from ***,the SKG at the physical layer is an alternate solution over traditional cryptographic methods due to wireless channels’***,the physical layer secret key generation(PHY-SKG)depends on two fundamental parameters,i.e.,coherence time and power *** coherence time for PHY-SKG is not applicable to secure wireless *** is because coherence time is for a certain period of ***,legitimate users generate the secret keys(SKs)with a shorter key length in ***,an attacker can quickly get information about the ***,the attacker can easily get valuable information from authentic ***,we considered the scheme of power allocation to enhance the secret key generation rate(SKGR)between legitimate ***,we propose an alternative method,i.e.,a power allocation,to improve the *** results show 72%higher SKGR in bits/sec by increasing power *** addition,the power transmission is based on two important parameters,i.e.,epsilon and power loss factor,as given in power transmission *** found out that a higher value of epsilon impacts power transmission and subsequently impacts the *** SKGR is approximately 40.7%greater at 250 from 50 mW at epsilon=*** value of SKGR is reduced to 18.5%at 250 mW when epsilonis ***,the transmission power is also measured against the different power loss factor values,i.e.,3.5,3,and 2.5,respectively,at epsilon=***,it is concluded that the value of epsilon and power loss factor impacts power transmission and,consequently,impacts the SKGR.

The use of Agriculture Intelligent Systems (AISs) in Iraq has become popular among farmers. The greenhouse is a solution for plant growth, which uses an effective microclimate to simulate seasons and to use alternative energy sources like solar, thermal, and photovoltaic systems for microclimate control. Greenhouses are considered a successful solution with developments and achievements in the technology of this field. However, problems like high costs, difficulties in installation and maintenance, or the need for some procedures should be considered. Because Iraq is close to the equator (3669 km), it receives sufficient solar power. It also has large areas available for the building of solar greenhouse systems. The farmers need an affordable and functional smart greenhouse to enable and encourage them to use the environment efficiently. We intend to develop low-cost, accurate, and easy-to-use greenhouse systems controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms. Farmers will be able to control the greenhouse by using simple commands. Machine learning algorithms provide real-time and effective analysis that could support farmers in decision-making and provide relevant data for researchers and policymakers. AISs algorithms can lead to a sustainable and productive agriculture system. The system can be used in Iraq with sufficient government support and subsidy. © 2022 IEEE.

On the link between explicit MPC and the face lattice of the lifted feasible domain

The paper provides a geometric interpretation for the explicit solution of the quadratic cost, linear-constrained MPC (model predictive control) problem. We link the face lattice of the lifted feasible domain (defined in the input and parameter space) with the critical regions which partition the parameter space and serve as polyhedral support for the piecewise affine explicit MPC solution. We provide geometric (face visibility) and algebraic (polyhedron emptiness) tests for the pruning of the candidate sets of active constraints.
