Universal enzymatic numerical P systems with small number of enzymatic variables

Numerical P systems(for short, NP systems) are distributed and parallel computing models inspired from the structure of living cells and economics. Enzymatic numerical P systems(for short, ENP systems) are a variant of NP systems, which have been successfully applied in designing and implementing controllers for mobile robots. Since ENP systems were proved to be Turing universal, there has been much work to simplify the universal systems, where the complexity parameters considered are the number of membranes, the degrees of polynomial production functions or the number of variables used in the *** the number of enzymatic variables, which is essential for ENP systems to reach universality, has not been investigated. Here we consider the problem of searching for the smallest number of enzymatic variables needed for universal ENP systems. We prove that for ENP systems as number acceptors working in the all-parallel or one-parallel mode, one enzymatic variable is sufficient to reach universality; while for the one-parallel ENP systems as number generators, two enzymatic variables are sufficient to reach *** results improve the best known results that the numbers of enzymatic variables are 13 and 52 for the all-parallel and one-parallel systems, respectively.

This paper studies the synchronization of a finite number of Kuramoto oscillators in a frequency-dependent bidirectional tree network. We assume that the coupling strength of each link in each direction is equal to the product of a common coefficient and the exogenous frequency of its corresponding source oscillator. We derive a sufficient condition for the common coupling strength in order to guarantee frequency synchronization in tree networks. Moreover, we discuss the dependency of the obtained bound on both the graph structure and the way that exogenous frequencies are distributed. Further, we present an application of the obtained result by means of an event-triggered algorithm for achieving frequency synchronization in a star network assuming that the common coupling coefficient is given. © 2018 IEEE.

In this present manuscript, we investigate the Indian COVID-19 vaccination data sets from the beginning of the vaccination. We observed the artificial extreme events (AEE) in a vaccination process during the Teeka Utsav massive vaccination plan. We found some importance and effects of this event and subsequently we analyse the data set with the moving average. This study explores the reason behind the effects with respect to the second and third waves of COVID-19 in India. The importance of the extremely vaccinated days is discussed in this present manuscript.

This paper introduces a seven-level switched capacitor multilevel inverter that achieves triple voltage gain while reducing the number of components, employing a single DC source, two switched capacitors, and ten semiconductor switches. The War Strategy Optimization (WSO) algorithm is employed for selective harmonic elimination (SHE), enhancing switching angles with swift convergence and reducing total harmonic distortion (THD) to around 11 %. The inverter features built-in self-voltage balancing with zero voltage and zero current switchings (ZVS/ZCS), eliminating additional balancing circuits and minimizing inrush currents. The test results for 48 V input generates a maximum output voltage of 144 V at 50 Hz, under dynamic load and modulation conditions, validating the robustness of the design. Analysis indicates that the suggested SCMLI features a reduced peak inverse voltage (PIV) and necessitates fewer components, rendering it a more cost-effective option for high-power and renewable energy applications.

Diffusion-weighted MRI (DWI) is essential for stroke diagnosis, treatment decisions, and prognosis. However, image and disease variability hinder the development of generalizable AI algorithms with clinical value. We address this gap by presenting a novel ensemble algorithm derived from the 2022 Ischemic Stroke Lesion Segmentation (ISLES) challenge. ISLES’22 provided 400 patient scans with ischemic stroke from various medical centers, facilitating the development of a wide range of cutting-edge segmentation algorithms by the research community. By assessing them against a hidden test set, we identified strengths, weaknesses, and potential biases. Through collaboration with leading teams, we combined top-performing algorithms into an ensemble model that overcomes the limitations of individual solutions. Our ensemble model combines the individual algorithms’ strengths and achieved superior ischemic lesion detection and segmentation accuracy (median Dice score: 0.82, median lesion-wise F1 score: 0.86) on our internal test set compared to individual algorithms. This accuracy generalized well across diverse image and disease variables. Furthermore, the model excelled in extracting clinical biomarkers like lesion types and affected vascular territories. Notably, in a Turing-like test, neuroradiologists consistently preferred the algorithm’s segmentations over manual expert efforts, highlighting increased comprehensiveness and precision. Validation using a real-world external dataset (N=1686) confirmed the model’s generalizability (median Dice score: 0.82, median lesion-wise F1 score: 0.86). The algorithm’s outputs also demonstrated strong correlations with clinical scores (admission NIHSS and 90-day mRS) on par with or exceeding expert-derived results, underlining its clinical relevance. This paper describes control design considering magnetic flux characteristic uncertainty for magnetic levitation system with magnetic flux and current feedback. The position of the levitated object is calculated from the hall voltage and current of the electromagnet. We show the uncertainty for magnetic flux characteristic and design the stabilizing controller by proportional feedback with the hall voltage and current. Moreover, we tried to design servo controller by two-degree-of-freedom control by using a finite number of frequency response (FNFR) model including the uncertainty and confirmed the validity of the proposed method by experiment results. © 2019 The Institute of Eleclrical Engineers of Japan.

The transmit/receive robust adaptive beamformer design of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar system is studied in this paper. We first construct the interference covariance matrix via a shrink-based approach. Then, the desired transmit-receive steering vector (SV) is estimated through maximizing the output power upon the cooperative constraint and norm constraints under the presumed SV. An iterative procedure is designed to deal with the original nonconvex problem, whose convergence is analytically proven with the estimated SV. Simulation results show the merits of the proposed design in various scenarios. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, we introduce a notion of so-called finite-step simulation functions for discrete-time control systems. In contrast to the existing notions of simulation functions, a finite-step simulation function does not need decay at each time step but after some finite numbers of steps. We show that the existence of such a function guarantees that the mismatch between output trajectories of the concrete and abstract systems lies within an appropriate bound. Using this relaxation, we develop a new type of small-gain conditions which are less conservative than those previously used for compositional construction of approximate abstractions of interconnected control systems. In particular, using finite-step simulation functions, it is possible to construct approximate abstractions, where stabilizability of each subsystem is not necessarily required. The effectiveness of our results is verified by an illustrative example.
