We propose a novel way of combining two canonical models used in Artificial Intelligence (AI): Bayesian Networks (BN) and Ant Colony Optimisation (ACO) in order to obtain a fast graph-traversal algorithm that establishes the highest correlation path between the nodes of a BN and the target node, similarly to a variable independence test. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Phishing URL detection is crucial in cybersecurity as malicious websites disguise themselves to steal sensitive information. Traditional machine learning techniques struggle to perform well in complex real-world scenarios due to large datasets and intricate patterns. Motivated by quantum computing, this paper proposes using Variational Quantum Classifiers (VQC) to enhance phishing URL detection. We present PhishVQC, a quantum model that combines quantum feature maps and variational ansatzes such as RealAmplitude and EfficientSU2. The model is evaluated across two experimental setups with varying dataset sizes and feature map repetitions. PhishVQC achieves a maximum macro average F1-score of 0.89, showing a 22% improvement over prior studies. This highlights the potential of quantum machine learning to improve phishing detection accuracy. The study also notes computational challenges, with execution wall times increasing as dataset size grows. © 2025 IEEE.

The quality of teaching and learning process can be improved through innovative methods like use of virtual reality. We introduce EnVision, a groundbreaking Virtual Reality based approach to revolutionize Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) education. EnVision offers a unique approach where users build models through immersive learning experiences. Using interactive tutorials mixed with real-time data integration and visualization, users learn AI/ML concepts with ease. Through qualitative and quantitative methods, we evaluate EnVision's effectiveness and user satisfaction, contributing to the advancement of innovative educational gaming technologies. Multilingual speaker identification and verification is a challenging task, especially for languages with diverse acoustic and linguistic features such as Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages. Previous models have struggled to generalize across multilingual environments, leading to significant performance degradation when applied to multiple languages. In this paper, we propose an advanced approach to multilingual speaker identification and verification, specifically designed for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages. Empirical results on the Kathbath dataset show that our approach significantly improves speaker identification accuracy, reducing the performance gap between monolingual and multilingual systems from 15% to just 1%. Additionally, our model reduces the equal error rate for speaker verification from 15% to 5% in noisy conditions. Our method demonstrates strong generalization capabilities across diverse languages, offering a scalable solution for multilingual voice-based biometric systems. © 2025 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Garden maintenance may be a difficult task, particularly in urban settings. Many people are not skilled enough to determine their plants' precise requirements for lighting and watering. Conventional gardening techniques frequently result in underwatering or overwatering, wasting resources, and producing unhealthy plants. Our completely automated smart garden watering and lighting system offers a fully automated solution to these problems. With its sophisticated sensors, this system keeps an eye on the quantity of moisture in the soil and the amount of sunshine it receives, making sure plants get the correct amount of both for healthy growth. An AI-powered MRI/CT analysis solution for medical professionals can significantly enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency. By harnessing deep learning algorithms, this solution can minimize human error and accelerate image interpretation. The incorporation of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model empowers the solution to identify abnormalities in MRI/CT images with high consistency and reliability. This solution supports intricate case evaluations and integrates effortlessly with electronic health records, making high-quality diagnostic capabilities available to a wider range of healthcare professionals. The solution is meticulously designed to detect various abnormalities, including tumors, Alzheimer's, and hemorrhages from MRI images, as well as COVID-19 and checking for squamous conditions from CT images. Ultimately, this solution aims to improve patient outcomes through precise and prompt diagnoses, while also serving as an educational resource and contributing to ongoing medical research and innovation. The brain tumor MRI model achieved an accuracy of 87.5% after 100 epochs, while the chest CT scan model attained 95.65% accuracy in just 50 epochs. Brain hemorrhage MRI model accomplished 88.45% accuracy in 30 epochs, and the COVID-19 dataset model reached 78.9% accuracy in 40 epochs. Lastly, the Alzheimer's model obtained an accuracy of 80.70% after 40 epochs. © 2024 IEEE.

Many problems have been solved using the internet of things (IoT). Waste management, resource management, traffic management, financial services (e.g. stock rate prediction), logistics services, agriculture, etc. are the major sectors where IoT has played a fruitful role. The use of IoT is increasing day by day due to its immense advantages. This paper presented an IoT-based system for sharing leftover food with others or hungry people. The system consists of a mobile application and an embedded system. Cloud service is used as middle-ware between the mobile application and embedded system. Mobile application is used for sending and receiving notifications. The rectangular-shaped box type embedded system is responsible for food collecting and distribution. The development and prototype implementation of our proposed system are discussed throughout this paper. The system helps to share leftovers (food) with others which can reduce food wastage. © 2025 IEEE.

This research aims to tackle traffic congestion at intersections, primarily caused by static traffic light timings that don't adapt to changing traffic conditions. The proposed solution involves using adaptive fuzzy controllers, which can adjust their decisions based on fuzzy IF-THEN rules. These controllers employ both Mamdani and Sugeno fuzzy logic. The Mamdani method considers factors like the number of vehicles, queue length, emergency vehicle access, and road width to optimize traffic light timings and reduce unnecessary green signals. The Sugeno-type fuzzy logic enhances controller efficiency and decreases waiting times. The study also explores the application of direct adaptive fuzzy controllers to manage unstable systems, which is relevant in optimizing traffic control. Ultimately, the goal is to develop a simulator capable of predicting the right traffic light timings in real-time. This involves extending green light timings for lanes with high vehicle volumes and also for the emergency vehicles to alleviate congestion at intersections. © 2024 IEEE.

Rice holds a significant position in India, especially in the southern part of the country, where people tend to eat some rice at least once a day. Farmers are facing a huge loss due to diseases in leaf, which is the main problem of agriculture. By using techniques like machine learning, main problems detection can be done. This review, discusses common plant diseases that affect the leaf. Some include Leaf Spots, Rusts, Fusarium Wilt, Early Blight, Powdery Mildew and Downey Mildew. Our research found that machine learning techniques on rice plants make finding diseases on leaves easier. Finally, we concluded that the most accurate method is the Enhanced VGG16, with an accuracy of 99.60% because it is really good at spotting diseases on rice leaves because it's great at recognizing the small details and patterns in leaf pictures. This helps it to tell the diseases apart more accurately and make fewer mistakes in identifying them. © 2024 IEEE.

Scalable and cohesive swarm control based on reinforcement learning

Unmanned vehicles have seen a significant increase in a wide variety of fields such as for logistics, agriculture and other commercial applications. Controlling swarms of unmanned vehicles is a challenging task that requires complex autonomous control systems. Reinforcement learning has been proposed as a solution to this challenge. We propose an approach based on agent masking to enable a simple Deep Q-Network algorithm to scale on large swarms while training on relatively smaller swarms. We train our approach using multiple swarm sizes and learning rates and compare our results using metrics such as the number of collisions. We also compare the ability of our approach to scale on swarms ranging from five to 25 agents using metrics and visual analysis. Our proposed solution was able to guide a swarm of up to 100 agents to a target while keeping a good swarm cohesion and avoiding collision. © 2024
