Stealthy Attacks on Sampled-Data control and Encryption-Based Countermeasures

This paper investigates stealthy attacks on sampled-data control systems, where a continuous process is sampled periodically, and the resultant discrete output and control signals are transmitted through dual channels in wireless communication networks. Acknowledging the vulnerability of these transmitted data to cyber threats, we analyze two types of stealthy attacks that compromise either one or both channels. We explicitly present the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of stealthy single-channel attacks. To mitigate these security risks, we implement encryption-based countermeasures, including linear time-invariant and periodic encryption methods. We detail sufficient conditions under which these encryption strategies effectively thwart single- and dual-channel stealthy attacks. The effectiveness of these approaches and the theoretical findings are demonstrated through numerical simulations. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Leader-Follower Formation Tracking control of Quadrotor UAVs Using Bearing Measurements

This work addresses the practical problem of distributed formation tracking control of a group of quadrotor vehicles in a relaxed sensing graph topology with a very limited sensor set, where only one leader vehicle can access the global position. Other vehicles in the formation are assumed to only have access to inter-agent bearing (direction) measurements and relative velocities with respect to their neighbor agents. A hierarchical control architecture is adopted for each quadrotor, combining a high-gain attitude inner-loop and an outer-loop bearing-based formation controller with collision avoidance augmentation. The proposed method enables a group of quadrotors to track arbitrary bearing persistently exciting desired formations, including time-varying shapes and rotational maneuvers, such that each quadrotor only requires relative measurements to at least one neighboring quadrotor. To achieve ubiquitous connectivity of the sixth generation communication, the space-air-ground integrated network (SAGIN) is a popular topic. However, the dynamic nodes in SAGIN such as satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles, may be fragile and out of operation, which can potentially cause service failure. Therefore, the research on service recovery in SAGIN under situations of resource failure is critical. In order to facilitate the flexible resource utilization of SAGIN, the network function virtualization technology (NFV) is proposed to be employed. Firstly, the task management is transformed into the deployment of service function chains (SFCs). Then, we design an NFV-based SFC recovery model in SAGIN in the face of resource failure, so that tasks can quickly select alternative resources to complete deployments. Moreover, the problem of SFC recovery is formulated to minimize the total time consumption for all completed SFCs. Since it is an NP-hard integer linear programming problem, we propose the efficient recovery algorithm based on the matching game. Finally, via various simulations, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and its advantages are verified, where the total time consumption is optimized by about 25%, compared with other benchmark methods. The growing demand for energy-saving lamps highlights critical limitations in traditional LED secondary optics, which reduce energy efficiency and complicate heat dissipation — a key factor in LED lamp longevity. This study proposes an optimized circuit design for a 20-watt LED driver that addresses these issues. The proposed driver ensures effective LED control while improving thermal management and eliminating drawbacks of conventional designs. Key principles of modern LED lamp design and current challenges are identified. The electronic schematic of the high-power LED driver was simulated using LTSpice software in order to analyze and optimize the circuit's performance, resulting in a driver solution that enhances efficiency and reliability.

A Parallel Read-Write Circuit With Fast Amplitude-Adaptive Matching Scheme to Memristor Crossbar Array

Memristor crossbar array (MCA) is a computing-in-memory (CIM) module for computational acceleration. However, conventional read-write (R-W) circuits for MCA rely heavily on external components and have shortcoming in long writing times. To address these issues, we propose a parallel R-W circuit with a fast amplitude-adaptive matching (AAM) scheme. The fast AAM scheme is designed to accelerate time of writing memristors in MCA by adaptively adjusting the writing voltage to match an optimal amplitude. The architecture of parallel R-W circuit are outlined with the implementation of R-W processes. The design principles of parallel R-W unit, fast AAM unit, and associated control logic are described for analyzing their functions within the circuit. By integrating the parallel R-W circuit with MCA, a computing block is leveraged in a neural network for classification tasks. The experimental results demonstrate that the neural network with multiple computing blocks maintains high accuracy across various datasets (over 80%). Furthermore, the proposed AAM scheme achieves an average 54% reduction in writing time compared to that one without AAM scheme. Compared to the pulse-width scheme, the parallel R-W circuit exhibits an average 3.05× speedup in adjusting a 5×5 MCA, and the speedup efficiency is higher as the increases of MCA size. © 2025 IEEE.

Rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) has emerged in the integrated satellite-terrestrial networks (ISTNs). However, the satellite-terrestrial channel suffers serious shadow fading and cannot maintain stable communication links effectively. From the perspective of reliability, this correspondence takes the lead in focusing on the outage probability (OP) of ISTNs based on the combination of RSMA and hybrid automatic repeat request with chase combining (HARQ-CC). The lower and upper bounds of OP are derived firstly according to the inclusion-exclusion principle. Then, the diversity order is deduced, pointing out the conditions for full time diversity. Monte Carlo simulations confirm the accuracy of the theoretical results, and superior outage performance of HARQ-CC-aided RSMA is present compared with benchmarks. © 1967-2012 IEEE All rights reserved.

Hybrid dimension-based analysis of the energy, exergy, and dynamic response of cross-flow SOFC-CHP system

Some of the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) poly-generation systems currently have the problem of high exergy destruction of the air-side heat exchangers, which exceeds that of SOFC. Meanwhile, there are fewer studies on the variable distribution of key components, especially the dynamic distribution characteristics. In this study, a combined heat and power (CHP) system integrating a cross-flow SOFC, an organic Rankine cycle (ORC), and a heating unit is proposed, and distributed parameter modeling is applied to develop a dynamic mechanism model for a two-dimensional cross-flow SOFC and a one-dimensional methane reformer. Then the steady state performance and dynamic response characteristics of the system and key components are comprehensively analyzed. The results show that the total exergy destruction of the air-side heat exchangers is always lower than that of the SOFC under each operating condition. The maximum temperature and current density of SOFC are located at nodes (8,8) and (5,8), respectively. With the increase in fuel utilization (FU), the total system efficiency increases and then decreases, peaking at 83.36 %. Increases in SOFC internal reforming rate and the decrease in inlet gas temperature exacerbate the SOFC temperature distribution non-uniformity. A step change in current causes rapid fluctuations in system performance and in the internal variables of the SOFC. A step change in air flow first changes the cathode oxygen concentration, causing voltage changes. The current density variation trends at each node of the SOFC are different depending on the reactant concentration and temperature. © 2025

Communication-centric Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) has been recognized as a promising methodology to implement wireless sensing functionality over existing network architectures, due to its cost-effectiveness and backward compatibility to legacy cellular systems. However, the inherent randomness of the communication signal may incur huge fluctuations in sensing capabilities, leading to unfavorable detection and estimation performance. To address this issue, we elaborate on random ISAC signal processing methods in this article, aiming at improving the sensing performance without unduly deteriorating the communication functionality. Specifically, we commence by discussing the fundamentals of sensing with random communication signals, including the performance metrics and optimal ranging waveforms. Building on these concepts, we then present a general framework for random ISAC signal transmission, followed by an in-depth exploration of time-domain pulse shaping, frequency-domain constellation shaping, and spatial-domain precoding methods. We provide a comprehensive overview of each of these topics, including models, results, and design guidelines. Finally, we conclude this article by identifying several promising research directions for random ISAC signal transmission. © 2025 IEEE.

Dynamic Quasi-Hyperbolic Momentum Iterative Attack With Small Perturbation for 4D-Flight Trajectory Prediction

With the rapid growth of global air traffic, 4D-flight trajectory prediction (4D-FTP) using deep learning (DL) methods has become essential for applications such as flight delay prediction, fuel consumption analysis, and traffic management. However, the adversarial attacks pose significant security threats to DL-based 4D-FTP systems reliant on automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) sensors. Furthermore, existing vulnerabilities in time series prediction (TSP) models for 4D-FTP remain underexplored due to the lack of effective and stealthy attack methods. To address this gap, we propose the Dynamic Quasi-Hyperbolic Momentum Iterative Attack with Small Perturbation (DQM-Attack). This method leverages quasi-hyperbolic momentum (QHM) and dynamic step sizes to optimize gradient utilization in 4D-FTP models. In addition, attack stealth is enhanced through the Manifold Smooth Module (MSM) and Sparse Smooth Reinforcement Learning (SS-RL). Experimental results demonstrate that DQM-Attack effectively disrupts predictions with minimal perturbations across four state-of-the-art TSP models. This study appears to be the first to address stealthy adversarial attacks on 4D-FTP systems, revealing a critical security vulnerability in air traffic management (ATM). © 2014 IEEE.

Enabling robots to imitate human actions and perform tasks with high precision while avoiding potential obstacles in the environment can effectively enhance the interaction between social robots and humans. In this paper, to achieve higher precision trajectory tracking and obstacle avoidance for dual-arm humanoid robots, the barrier offset varying-parameter dynamic learning neural (BOVDL) network method is proposed and applied to dual-arm humanoid behavior generation scheme. To do so, a dual-arms humanoid robot model is set up, and transformed into a constrained time-varying quadratic programming (TVQP) problem. Secondly, by using lagrangian multiplier method and Karush-Kuhn-Tuchker condition, the inequality constrained TVQP is converted as a time-varying equation with a barrier parameter. Thirdly, a varying-parameter dynamic learning network is presented to solve the time-varying equation with a barrier parameter. computer simulation experiments are conducted to verify the feasibility, accuracy, and safety of the proposed BOVDL network method. Experimental results show that all 14 joints of the humanoid robot's arms are within the motion range of each real human arm's physical constraints. The maximum position error and velocity error between the desired trajectory and the actual trajectory of the end effector are less than 10-6m magnitude and 10-7m magnitude, respectively, representing a reduction of 5 orders of magnitude compared to the traditional varying-parameter convergent-differential neural network. Furthermore, the proposed method also enables the dual-arm humanoid robot to avoid collisions with obstacles while performing tasks, demonstrating the superiority of the proposed BOVDL network scheme. © 2016 IEEE.
