To counteract unhealthy eating habits among the younger generation, a novel and economical AI-powered framework has been developed to serve as a virtual nutritionist and nutrition counsellor. The system uses machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing to provide personalized nutrition plans via an easy-to-use online application. It generates tailored meal plans that consider user preferences, allergies, and meal times by calculating Body Mass Index (BMI) based on user input. In addition to blog links and tailored training regimens (enhanced by the LLM3 model trained on a Kaggle gym dataset), a feedback mechanism allows for continuous optimization. Real-time food classification uses VGG16 and ResNet deep learning models to detect damaged or harmful foods and send out alerts for unsuitable foods. Additionally, integration with Google Maps and KNN helps users locate nearby dietitians, fostering better access to professional guidance. These comprehensive improvements significantly contribute to maintaining a good diet.

This paper proposes a novel approach for the design of stabilizing sliding manifolds for linear systems affected by model uncertainties and external disturbances. In classical sliding mode control approaches, rejecting model uncertainties and external disturbances often relies on designing a dis-continuous control law with a suitable gain. Specifically, the greater the uncertainty, the larger the control gain. However, this approach might be detrimental to the plant. Instead, the proposed technique deals with this problem by focusing on the design of a suitable sliding manifold, where stability is guaranteed despite model uncertainties. This approach exhibits several benefits such as not needing any further identification process and designing a smaller control gain.

The complex permeability of magnetic cores acts as a vital factor in electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering choke design and optimization. Many efforts have been reported for toroid cores, but fewer target those with other shapes, such as EE, EI, UU, and UI cores. Owing to their commonly used in planar EMI filters, determining the complex permeability of them is of significance. Targeting EE cores, this paper presents a flexible printed circuit board (PCB)-based fixture adapter tailored designed for performing the measurement, while the corresponding core permeability can be calculated through magnetic flux path length analysis. The experiments validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed methods, spanning a wide frequency range up to 120 MHz. ©2024 IEEE.

We consider the control design of stochastic discrete-time linear multi-agent systems (MASs) under a global signal temporal logic (STL) specification to be satisfied at a predefined probability. By decomposing the dynamics into deterministic and error components, we construct a probabilistic reachable tube (PRT) as the Cartesian product of reachable sets of the individual error systems driven by disturbances lying in confidence regions (CRs) with a fixed probability. By bounding the PRT probability with the specification probability, we tighten all state constraints induced by the STL specification by solving tractable optimization problems over segments of the PRT, and relax the underlying stochastic problem with a deterministic one. This approach reduces conservatism compared to tightening guided by the STL structure. Additionally, we propose a recursively feasible algorithm to attack the resulting problem by decomposing it into agent-level subproblems, which are solved iteratively according to a scheduling policy. We demonstrate our method on a ten-agent system, where existing approaches are impractical.

Due to the development of hacking programs, it has become easy to penetrate systems. Hence, there is a need for strong security mechanisms. The use of traditional passwords has become insufficient to secure systems. Biometric authentication is now widely used for security applications, and it has proven to be superior compared to traditional authentication methods. However, two issues need to be considered in biometric systems. The first is not to keep biometric data in its original form in the database. If biometric traits are hacked, they will no longer be of use. Biometric data should be kept in cancelable forms for reuse. The second issue is the reliance on a single biometric, which limits the verification accuracy. This can be solved by using a multimodal biometric system. Using steganography and cryptography, this paper introduces a cancelable multimodal biometric system. As voiceprints, facial images, and fingerprint images are used. In this paper, the verification is performed through the Mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) of the voiceprints. Steganography is used as a tool to secure features extracted from voiceprints by embedding them into the facial image using block-based singular value decomposition (BSVD). Double random phase encoding (DRPE) is utilized as an encryption algorithm to generate the final cancelable templates. To increase the level of system security, fingerprint images are used as random phase masks (RPMs). Verification is performed by estimating the correlation between registered and test MFCCs. The correlation value is then compared with a threshold value, which is calculated using the distribution curves for the genuine and imposter correlations. Equal error rate (EER) values close to zero and an area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AROC) that is close to one are obtained from the simulation results, demonstrating the outstanding performance of the suggested system. As the Metaverse gains popularity, the need for communication networks that support large-scale data transmission and real-time interaction in virtual and augmented reality applications becomes increasingly important. The cell-free (CF) massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is a promising technology that can provide high-reliability, low-latency, and cost-effective wireless communication services in the Metaverse. In this article, we examine the performance of the CF massive MIMO system in Metaverse communication, considering both the line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight propagation environments, and derive novel and closed-form expressions for the ultra reliable and low-latency communication rate to quantify the impact of short packet communication. We propose four AP cooperation modes that can be flexibly adopted according to needs, with large-scale fading decoding weights delivering the best performance. Moreover, we analyze the energy consumption of the CF massive MIMO system to determine optimal energy efficiency for improved communication experiences. Our study provides valuable insights into the design and implementation of Metaverse communications enabled by CF massive MIMO. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose a new multirotor aerial vehicle class of designs composed of a multi-body structure in which a main body is connected by passive joints to links equipped with propellers. We have investigated some instances of such class, some of which are shown to achieve omnidirectionality while having a minimum number of inputs equal to the main body Degrees of Freedom DoF’s, only uni-directional positive thrust propellers, and no internal forces generated at steady state. After dynamics are derived following the Euler-Lagrange approach, an I/O dynamic feedback linearization strategy is then used to show the controllability of any desired pose with stable zero dynamics. We finally verify the developed controller with closed-loop simulations.

The demand on healthcare is growing as a result of the expanding global population, rising demands for successful treatment, and an underlying improvement in life quality. Consequently, healthcare remains one of the most significant social and economic problems in the world, necessitating the development of new and more sophisticated scientific and technological treatments.E-health services are provided via personalised healthcare systems to meet the medical and support needs of the ageing population. An important development in the Big Data age is the Internet of Things, which facilitates several real-time engineering solutions through improved services. Healthcare systems are now using analytics over IoT data streams as a stream of user data to find new information, forecast rapid recognition, and make decisions on life-threatening situations. In this study, researchers have carried out a thorough review of the hottest recent revolutionary technologies in bespoke healthcare systems, with a focus on hypervisor, cloud infrastructure, big data analytic, the Web of Things, and smartphone apps. In order to make early disease detection and diagnosis possible, it is important to develop a better healthcare system. We have examined these problems and suggested potential solutions while offering secure e-health services. The purpose of this study is to design a smart and secure remote monitoring and warning system using the latest emerging technologies in 21stcentury such as big data analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems. In this study the researchers discussed a detailed research methodology to meet the outcomes of the reerach. All the relevant findings and analysis are explained in descriptive manner.
