To extract important information from the document images, document layout analysis research has been carried out. Previous research analyzes document layouts only for specific document formats. This paper proposes a document layout analysis method that adopts pre-processing based on document image classification to analyze document layouts for various document formats. From the application examples, we have confirmed that the proposed method can correctly analyze document layout by using training models trained for each document format. Furthermore, to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed method, we have compared the F score of the proposed method for document layout analysis using a single training model covering various document formats and using a training model generated for each document format. Visually impaired individuals face difficulties in public transportation, especially in recognizing bus numbers. Though existing image captioning method can provide some bus scene information via voice broadcasting, precisely recognizing bus number while analyzing complex scenes remains challenges. To overcome this bottleneck, we propose a novel Text based Depth-aware image Captioning network (TDCnet) that facilitates a deeper understanding of the spatial relationships and geometric configurations of objects within bus scenes. Specially, we first carefully construct a new real-world dataset of bus scene integrated with bus number of LED strobe effect, to ensure generality and representations in practice. Then, we incorporate the depth information into the object and optical character recognition (OCR) feature for exploiting the spatial geometric relationships and capturing high-level semantic information. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate the necessity of constructing the Buscap dataset by comparing it with the public Textcap dataset. Besides, the comparison with other competing benchmark models verifies the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed TDCnet method. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The most innovative Service-Optimized Logging for Resource Allocation (SOL-RA) is in situations that support 6G connection. The CyberTwin architecture optimizes the quality of service provided to end users in 6G communications by using the dependability of terahertz connections and interactions of a machine-type nature. Elastically sharing elastic resources among users is made possible by the proposed resource allocation strategy, which makes use of proprietary logger functions. This ensures that efficient allocation is achieved without overlapping or lengthy wait periods. Within the framework of SOL-RA, a categorization mechanism is implemented for dense requests, which differentiates them as either stationary or priority services. Resource allocations are dynamically done based on this categorization, which enhances the organization's responsiveness to different needs. Through a tree classifier learning mechanism, CyberTwin logs play an essential part in the processing of requests and the preparation of resources. This helps to ensure that resources are distributed without inefficiency. Requests that are generating a backlog are identified and processed in parallel by the system, which significantly reduces the amount of time that is wasted waiting. In order to guarantee a specialized distribution for the categorized outputs, resource allocations are directed by CyberTwin data logs. An examination of the performance of the SOL-RA scheme takes into account important metrics such service latency, service backlog, resource usage, and request-to-response ratio. This research offers insights into the efficacy of the scheme in maximizing service quality and resource consumption in 6G settings. © The Author(s) 2025.

Leukemia, a malignant disease characterized by the rapid proliferation of specific types of white blood cells (WBC), has prompted increased interest in leveraging automatic WBC classification system. This study presents the design of a robust WBC classification system, integrating deep learning with microscopic image analysis. The proposed classification model is designed to categorize blood cells into four distinct groups: eosinophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and neutrophil. The study employs a Kaggle image dataset for comprehensive learning. The dataset comprises 12,500 microscopic images used to categorize the four blood cell groups. To enhance performance and reduce the likelihood of overfitting, transfer learning techniques are employed. Six deep transfer learning models namely VGG16, ResNet50, AlexNet, MobileNet, GoogLeNet, and EfficientNetBO are used for feature extraction and classification. The results of the experiments show that VGG16 and MobileNet demonstrated enhancements compared to other pre-trained models when evaluated on both augmented and original datasets. A diverse set of evaluation criteria was employed to thoroughly assess the effectiveness of medical image classification. Notably, the VGG16 and MobileNet models accurately predicted Lymphocytes and Monocytes with a 100% accuracy rate, and Eosinophil and Neutrophil with rates of 99.35% and 99.81%, respectively. This research work empower medical practitioners, particularly in the field of pathology and hematology by providing advanced tools for accurate blood cell classification. The proposed VGG16 and MobileNet models hold promise for simplifying WBC classification, improving decision-making processes, and ultimately advancing patient care in the medical domain. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Consistent Counterfactual Explanations via Anomaly control and Data Coherence

Algorithmic recourses are popular methods to provide individuals impacted by machine learning models with recommendations on feasible actions for a more favorable prediction. Most of the previous algorithmic recourse methods work under the assumption that the predictive model does not change over time. However, in reality, models in deployment may both be periodically retrained and have their architecture changed. Therefore, it is desirable that the recourse should remain valid when such a model update occurs, unless new evidence arises. We call this feature consistency. This article presents anomaly control and data coherence (ACDC), a novel model-agnostic recourse method that generates counterfactual explanations, i.e., instance-level recourses. ACDC is inspired by anomaly detection methods and uses a one-class classifier to aid the search for valid, consistent, and feasible counterfactual explanations. The one-class classifier asserts that the generated counterfactual explanations lie on the data manifold and are not outliers of the target class. We compare ACDC against several state-of-the-art recourse methods across four datasets. Our experiments show that ACDC outperforms baselines both in generating consistent counterfactual explanations, and in generating feasible and plausible counterfactual explanations, while still having proximity measures similar to the baseline methods targeting the data manifold. © 2024 IEEE.

In text mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP), extracting emotions from textual data is gaining rapid attraction. The proliferation of online content and the freedom of expression on social media platforms has compelled the advancement of more sophisticated methods for the automatic identification of unwanted content. The One-Dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (1D-CNN) performs best for feature extraction, while the Long Short-Term Memory Network (LSTM) is well-known for extracting sequential features and classification of textual data. This study proposes a novel solution by combining 1D-CNN with LSTM. Utilizing a context-aware model, this study aims to enhance the detection of immoral posts, including hate speech and other forms of immoral content on social media platforms. Various posts are extracted from social media, which are then processed using Glove word embedding models. It depicts the word representations in the text, which yields the form of a real-valued vector determining the words' meaning. The 1D convolution utilizes a filter window over the input time-series data to extract features. Relying on the acquired parameters of the filters, they act as feature extractors. This feature extraction technique allows the model to distinguish detailed patterns and nuances from the textual contents of posts. The sequential processing capabilities of the LSTM network enable an in-depth examination of the text, capturing temporal relationships and context, which is critical for successful content categorization. To validate the proposed model, we utilized a benchmark dataset, called the Twitter dataset. The proposed model achieved the highest accuracy of 95.37% and outperforms state-of-the-art works. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

A hypergraph is a type of graph, H=(V,E) where V is the set of nodes and E is the set of hyperedges;where one edge consists of may nodes. Morphological operators are nonlinear operators which can be applied on images, graphs, hypergraphs etc. Dilation and erosion are morphological operators and other operators like opening, closing can be obtained by repeated application of these operators. Topological space consists of a set X together with topology τ defined on X, which satisfies the axioms namely Nullset, arbitrary union of opensets and finite intersection of opensets. Such a topological space S=(X,T) is compatible with a hypergraph H if X=VH∪EH where VH and EH are the vertex set and edge set respectively. The morphological operators induces several topology on hypergraph with its compatible topological space S=(X,T). Neighborhood of a node is defined in many ways which can be considered as open sets in the corresponding topological space. The purpose of this paper is to apply topological properties on hypergraphs using morphological operators. Separation axiom and closure function are illustrated using hypergraph structure. The work is extended to crime analysis, text processing and patient disease analysis. Topological feature extraction is done on Barcodes created from crime hypergraphs. TeleOracle: Fine-Tuned Retrieval-Augmented Generation with Long-Context Support for Networks

The telecommunications industry's rapid evolution demands intelligent systems capable of managing complex networks and adapting to emerging technologies. While large language models (LLMs) show promise in addressing these challenges, their deployment in telecom environments faces significant constraints due to edge device limitations and inconsistent documentation. To bridge this gap, we present TeleOracle, a telecom-specialized RAG system built on the Phi-2 small language model (SLM). To improve context retrieval, TeleOracle employs a two-stage retriever that incorporates semantic chunking and hybrid key-word and semantic search. Additionally, we expand the context window during inference to enhance the model's performance on open-ended queries. We also employ low-rank adaption for efficient fine-tuning. A thorough analysis of the model's performance indicates that our RAG framework is effective in aligning Phi-2 to the telecom domain in a downstream QnA task, achieving a 30% improvement in accuracy over the base Phi-2 model, reaching an overall accuracy of 81.20%. Notably, we show that our model not only performs on par with the much larger LLMs but also achieves a higher faithfulness score, indicating higher adherence to the retrieved context. © 2014 IEEE.
