Important issues have arisen for the reliability of communications in FANETs as of the high-speed mobility of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). One of the more recent Meta-heuristic (MH) methods, makes use of the Beluga Whale optimizer (BWO) to optimize network parameters in FANET. However, BWO may get stuck in local optima and converge too quickly because of its lack of diversity. This paper provides two steps to improve the original BWO procedure. Opposition-based learning (OBL), also known as OBWO's first stage, helps to speed up the search procedure and improve the learning procedure so that a higher quality generation of candidate keys for the basic BWO can be selected. In addition, a powerful cluster maintenance algorithm for continually updating UAV clusters is proposed. The simulation findings show that the projected OBWO scheme outperforms state-of-the-art clustering techniques by a wide margin in terms of packet delivery ratio, network lifetime to cluster head altering ratio, and energy usage. © 2023 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are developing so fast that they can bring revolutionary changes in ecological sustainability, public health, and community welfare. In contrast, the present waste management system has a set of inefficiencies due to some challenges, such as poor waste stream segregation, limited real-time data analysis, and negligible integration of recent technology. These challenges lead to environmental degradation, public health hazards, and inefficient usage of resources. This research targets these challenges by designing an IWM framework like AI-IoT for smart waste management. The system employs AI models powered by IoT sensors for efficient waste collection, classification, and optimization of recycling schedules. CNN (convolutional neural networks) with transfer learning enabled by Res-Net provides high-accuracy image recognition, which can be used for waste classification. Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) allow multilingual users to interact and communicate properly in any linguistic environment. Data collected from IoT-enabled smart bins is transmitted in real-time to a central control system for dynamic decision-making and follow-up analysis. A pilot exercise to verify the system's effectiveness was implemented in metropolitan settings to show the transformation: landfill dependency was decreased by 30 %, recycling efficiency was greatly increased to 90 %, and thus the cost of waste management was optimized. At the same time, environmental health inequity, causing pathogen-related threats, was reduced by 35 %. The model has an accuracy of 96.8 %. The features of the proposed framework not only provide solutions to the existing inefficiencies but also enhance scalability, cost-effectiveness, and global environmental standardization. Skin cancer poses a significant health hazard, necessitating the utilization of advanced diagnostic methodologies to facilitate timely detection, owing to its escalating prevalence in recent years. This paper proposes a novel approach to tackle the issue by introducing a method for detecting skin cancer that uses MixNets to enhance diagnosis and leverages mobile network-based transfer learning. Skin cancer has diverse forms, each distinguishable by its structural attributes, morphological characteristics, texture, and coloration. The pressing demand for accurate and efficient diagnostic instruments has spurred the investigation of novel techniques. The present study utilizes the ISIC dataset, comprising a validation set of 660 images and a training set of 2637 images. Moreover, the research employs a combination of MixNets and mobile network-based transfer learning as its chosen approach. Transfer learning is a technique that leverages preexisting models to enhance the diagnostic capabilities of the proposed system. Integrating MobileNet and MixNets allows for utilizing their respective functionalities, resulting in a dual-model methodology that enhances the comprehensiveness of skin cancer diagnosis. The results demonstrate impressive performance metrics, with MobileNet and MixNets models, and the proposed approach achieves an outstanding accuracy rate of 99.58%. The above findings underscore the efficacy of the dual-model method in effectively discerning between benign and malignant skin lesions. Moreover, the present study aims to examine the potential integration of emerging technologies to enhance the accuracy and practicality of diagnostics within real-world healthcare settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Precise division of aquatic areas is essential for efficient environmental supervision and administration. It enables the precise delineation and tracking of aquatic ecosystems, facilitating the assessment of water quality and the identification of environmental hazards such as pollution and habitat degradation. By offering high-resolution data and enabling thorough coverage of large areas, advanced technologies like satellite images play a crucial role in improving water body segmentation and expanding the capacity to monitor and manage water resources effectively and sustainably. In this study, the focus is on leveraging Sentinel-2 satellite imagery for accurate water body segmentation. The dataset is meticulously curated and comprises Sentinel-2 satellite images. Masks are then created to isolate water bodies from the original images using advanced deep-learning architectures, including UNet, Deeplabs, and SegNet. Furthermore, the performance of UNet is enhanced by incorporating attention mechanisms such as channel attention, spatial attention, and combined spatial and channel attention. These algorithms are used to generate output masks, which are then compared with the existing masks from the dataset. Subsequently, the evaluation was performed using metrics such as accuracy, binary cross- entropy loss, and mean intersection over union, providing comprehensive insights into their efficacy. Notably, the findings highlight the remarkable accuracy achieved by the UNet model enhanced with spatial and channel attention mechanisms, reaching an impressive 96.7%. This notable progress emphasizes the possibility of achieving better accuracy in segmenting water, which in turn aids real-time monitoring and informed decision-making in environmental management. © 2024 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) systems develop with paramount importance for security in view of the increased deployment of IoT devices over critical sectors like healthcare, industry automation, and smart cities. The risk exposure of such systems is extremely high to potent cyber threats, including those that may result in data integrity and privacy issues and operational unreliability. Security in IoT systems has thus emerged through heterogeneous integration with blockchain and artificial intelligence models. This blockchain technology provides a decentralized, immutable ledger for secure data transactions. AI models, especially those designed by anomaly detection and prediction algorithms, can identify and mitigate cyber threats. In this paper, the authors propose the SecureChainAI model that synergistically integrates artificial intelligence algorithms with blockchain to safeguard IoT environments. The two core building blocks that will make this proposed model real are CaSNet and the EchoChain algorithm. The CaSNet model integrates LSTM, RNN, and GRU techniques with novelty detection for proficient attack prediction and detection using their peculiar capabilities in sequential data handling and the identification of novel attack patterns. The EchoChain algorithm puts blockchain technology into the IoT infrastructure to provide security in communication and integrity of the values. This makes the architecture lightweight, shifting computational loads to the collector node, and hence suitable for IoT devices with low computational resources. Evaluations of the performance necessary to detect different classes of cyberattacks using SecureChainAI have improved on the detection accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and reduced error rates. © 2024 IEEE.

Tourism encourages cultural interaction, economic growth, and global connectivity, improving both travelers and host communities. Due to the shortage of accessible and competent guides, travelers often miss out on the rich history and cultural value of the areas they visit, leading to a shallow understanding of these sites. To bridge this knowledge gap, this article proposes WanderGenie: A Smart Guide for Immersive Tourism through Generative AI to enhance the visitor experience at popular places where traditional guides are unavailable. The system leverages image processing and RFID technology to recognize landmarks and provide travelers with real-time as well as detailed information about the spots they visit. The system ensures accurate landmark identification by strategically inserting RFID tags at precise spots. Upon detecting a landmark, the system shows relevant content through visual displays and audio outputs, creating an immersive and participatory experience. Acting as a kind virtual assistant, WanderGenie answers tourist’s queries, improving their understanding and appreciation of the attractions they experience by utilizing Generative AI technology. This concept solves the shortage of guides while raising the quality of the tourist experience by making historical, cultural, and architectural knowledge more accessible. The proposed system has been designed, implemented, and validated successfully. ©2024 IEEE.

This paper investigated the predictive capabilities of three decision tree models for IoT botnet attack prediction using packet information while minimizing the number of predictors. The study employed three decision tree models (C5, CHAID, and Random Forest) and two additional models (Logistic Regression and Bayesian Network) for comparison purposes. The IoT botnet attack dataset comprised various devices, mainly two types of attacks (Gafgyt and Mirai) and 23 feature engineering variables. Simulation results from all models showed that Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and False Omission Rate (FOR) values are approximately one, with an F1 score of around 0.5. CHAID and C5 models outperform other models in predicting IoT botnet attacks, as they are developed using only four and two variables, respectively. These results demonstrated that decision tree models with fewer variables can perform better than models that utilize all predictors. © 2024 IEEE.

we introduced image encryption algorithms with high sensitivity, such that even a single alteration in a plain-text image would result in a complete transformation of the ciphered image. The first algorithm employed pixel values in a substitution approach, whereas the second algorithm utilized pixel values to generate chaotic function keys. Additionally, we employed a Rossler chaotic function with pixel data to generate chaotic values for the shuffling and substitution processes. After subjecting these algorithms to rigorous testing using standard metrics, our experiments revealed the efficiency of the algorithms in image encryption. Notably, even a minute change in the original image resulted in a vastly different ciphered image. These proposed algorithms underscored the effectiveness of integrating chaotic functions with pixel information, significantly enhancing image security. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to forecast the run time of the jobs that were submitted, this research provides two linear regression prediction models that include continuous and categorical factors. A continuous predictor is built using the number of CPUs, average CPU speed, and memory size, whereas a categorical predictor is built using the user ID, group ID, and executable ID. According to the findings, the prediction rates for categorical and continuous predictors are 61% and 1%, respectively. sixty times better than the earlier models, which used continuous variables as a foundational model to determine task complexity and weight. The effectiveness of the categorical predictor in enhancing a job scheduling problem is then evaluated by combining it with three suggested job scheduling strategies. The suggested algorithms incorporated metrics - predicted run time, waiting time, and resource requirement - to select the smallest jobs. According to the results, Algorithm 3 performs better than earlier models in both performance metrics. The variation in total execution time and average waiting time is 1.14 to 1.76 and 4.5, respectively compared to previous models, Additionally, Algorithms 1 and 2 demonstrating superior performance in every scenario. © 2024 IEEE.
