This paper is concerned with the requirements of current distance learning of circuit principle experiment of automation specialty, automatic fault detection of experimental equipment, automatic fault isolation, uninterrupted experiment in case of fault, and maintaining the number of available equipment. Specifically, based on the networked control system laboratory (NCSLab) architecture, digital twin, remote control technology and circuit design, aiming at the circuit experiment principle course, the digital twin are realized by Simulink, and a digital twin circuit principle experiment system(DT-CPES) is designed and implemented. The designed system shows that the system can realize the sharing of experimental equipment, the digital twin can predict, and can also verify with the actual measurement data of the circuit experiment. Through the digital twin fault isolation controller(DT-FIC), the fault diagnosis, fault isolation and replacement output of the experimental equipment can be realized. Therefore, the developed system reduces the overall risk and cost of installation and maintenance of large-scale circuit experiments, and provides fault-tolerant redundancy for the experimental system with low computational burden and high reliability. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Referring expression comprehension (REC) aims at locating the target object described by an expression. We observe that most of the graph-based REC methods only focus on establishing relations between all objects in an image and the given expression during the graph construction while ignoring the relationships between objects in the same category. As a result, these methods are sub-optimal in locating the target object described by the expression, particularly when the target object is surrounded by objects of similar categories. Meanwhile, during reasoning, numerous irrelevant objects are considered for expression, which will introduce significant harmful noise. To address these issues, this paper proposes a new graph-based group division network (GBGDN). Different from the existing works, our work partitions the constructed graphs into several sub-graphs based on the categories of objects and expressions. In each sub-graph, the common visual features of objects will be strengthened through a feature enhancement strategy. Subsequently, the enhanced sub-graphs and expressions undergo joint processing via a filtering-based reasoning module designed to reduce the influence of unrelated nodes in each subgraph, facilitating more accurate reasoning and matching. Experimental results across various datasets, including RefCOCO /+/g, Flickr30K Entities, RefClef, and Ref-reasoning, showcase the superiority of our proposed method over existing approaches. Most importantly, our method does not need pre-training. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Blockchain technology represents a modern supply chain management revolution which fixes operational challenges while providing enhanced transparency at reduced costs. The research develops HB-SCOF (Hybrid Blockchain-Enabled Supply Chain Optimization Framework) which combines blockchain self-verification databases with automatic smart contracts to maintain continuous supply chain observation and evaluate data credibility. The framework integrates tamper-proof transaction tracking mechanisms with unified supply chain network connectivity for securing data transmission as a trust delivery method through unbreakable shared databases. The retail-industry case study demonstrated a 25% decrease in expenses stemming from agency elimination alongside enhanced flow management and better stock distribution. The system demonstrates its effectiveness through assessments of key performance indicators including transaction speed and data accuracy together with business cost efficiency. This part looks at implementation methods through training stakeholders in addition to transforming organizational policies which produce successful outcomes. Blockchain technology labs verify its capability to enhance supply chain management efficiency while showing realistic deployment methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have the ability to produce realistic images from random noise vectors and has attracted a lot of attention in recent years. The textual input is discontinuous and requires efficient semantic information capture, extending GANs to create images from text descriptions has special obstacles. In this research, a unique GAN-based text-to-image creation method that makes use of conditional GAN architectures and text embeddings. The generator neural network in our suggested model converts text embeddings into appropriate image representations, whereas the discriminator network separates real images from those produced by the generator. This paper shows the strategies like multi-modal fusion mechanisms and attention mechanisms in the network architecture to help textual descriptions and visual information match. This method uses the benchmark datasets and show that it can produce realistic and varied visuals that correspond with textual descriptions. Both qualitative and quantitative assessments demonstrate our model's capacity to grasp minute details and subtle semantic nuances found in the input text. In addition, we perform user studies to evaluate the fidelity and perceived quality of the generated images relative to ground truth images. Based on our experimental findings, it appears that the suggested framework for text-to-pixel image production provides both textual relevance and image quality. This paper illuminates how our methodology may be utilized in different settings, including virtual universes, PC supported plan, and the production of imaginative substance. We likewise accentuate future bearings and potential for profound learning and normal language handling procedures to further develop text- to-picture creating models' abilities. © 2024 IEEE.

Quantum computing are breakthroughs aimed to revolutionize several sectors, although they also present considerable cybersecurity threats. Quantum computers can manage quite greater quantities of information than the most powerful conventional supercomputers and has the capability to do complex computations. Despite being in the early stages of development, quantum computers have the potential to be regarded as cybersecurity concerns. Quantum computing is a phenomenon that should be seen as a technology primed to facilitate significant innovations in the future, while also presenting different concerns. The quantum cybersecurity threat encompasses data breaches of sensitive health and financial information, challenges to the integrity of digital assets, and vulnerabilities in the encryption supporting cryptocurrencies, among other possible risks. This review paper focuses on quantum computing and its effects on different security methods in the present generation. It covers the quantum computer threats to cryptography, post quantum cryptography and a comparison of different approaches to cryptography. This work also analyzes machine learning and AI in quantum security and its challenges and trends for the future. The literature review has incorporated references from more than 25 reputed Scopus-listed journal and conference proceeding. © 2025 IEEE.

To Reply or to Quote: Comparing Conversational Framing Strategies on Twitter

Social media platform affordances allow users to interact with content and with each other in diverse ways. For example, on Twitter,1 users can like, reply, retweet, or quote another tweet. Though it’s clear that these different features allow various types of interactions, open questions remain about how these different affordances shape the conversations. We examine how two similar, but distinct conversational features on Twitter — specifically reply vs. quote — are used differently. Focusing on the polarized discourse around Robert Mueller’s congressional testimony in July 2019, we look at how these features are employed in conversations between politically aligned and opposed accounts. We use a mixed methods approach, employing grounded qualitative analysis to identify the different conversational and framing strategies salient in that discourse and then quantitatively analyzing how those techniques differed across the different features and political alignments. Our research (1) demonstrates that the quote feature is more often used to broadcast and reply is more often used to reframe the conversation; (2) identifies the different framing strategies that emerge through the use of these features when engaging with politically aligned vs. opposed accounts; (3) discusses how reply and quote features may be re-designed to reduce the adversarial tone of polarized conversations on Twitter-like platforms.

Agriculture is a key sector in the U.S. economy, supporting not only farmers but also industries like food processing and transportation. Due to labor shortages and an aging population, immigrant farmers have become essential to the workforce. However, they face challenges such as outdated tools, reliance on family labor, and uncertain land leases, contributing to economic insecurity. Additionally, their low literacy levels often result in ineffective tracking of crucial information, leading to missed opportunities in crop disease management and budget planning. Through interviews with 7 immigrant farmers and prototyping, we explored their everyday farming practices and identified opportunities for improved record-keeping. Our findings suggest that improved information tracking could facilitate learning, crop management, and community support. This research informs the design of self-tracking technologies tailored to farmers, offering insights into culturally relevant solutions. Based on these findings, the team will develop and deploy a high-fidelity prototype on local farms. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Home hand rehabilitation for stroke is becoming increasingly important due to logistic and financial challenges. Developing Daily-life Integrated Hand-rehabilitation Products (DIHP) aims to enable the application of at-home rehabilitation. The materials of these products are essential for their success, however, selecting materials for DIHP has not been investigated yet. Previous research on material selection showed that it is done strictly on material properties or based on a human-centered approach. Hence, in this study, we propose a hybrid model for choosing materials for DIHP. To achieve this, we first combined the findings of previous material selection processes into a comprehensive material selection model. We applied this model in a case study, in which we first selected three materials based on their properties. Following, we 3d printed a DIHP out of the chosen materials and tested the feeling of the materials with multiple expert groups. Our findings suggest that the proposed material selection method is promising and highlights that our comprehensive model provides more insights when compared to a strict material property-based selection. © The Author(s), 2023.
