Facial recognition technology has been widely used in many fields, issues with spoofing and presentation attacks continue to be major obstacles. In order to reduce the risks associated with photo impersonation, this paper suggests a novel facial recognition system that is coupled with aliveness detection techniques. Modern deep learning models, FaceNet for facial recognition and LivenessNet for aliveness detection, are integrated into an advanced facial recognition system that is presented in this paper. FaceNet is a neural network architecture that is used to extract and identify features from facial images with robustness. A specialized aliveness detection model called LivenessNet separates real-life live facial patterns from static or non-living sources. By utilizing FaceNet's capabilities, the suggested system creates high-dimensional embeddings that effectively capture distinct facial features, facilitating precise and dependable face matching. Simultaneously, LivenessNet uses real-time physiological cues, micro expressions, and small movements to verify that a live person is present, guaranteeing the authenticity of live faces during recognition. Through the integration of these models, the system provides a comprehensive solution that improves security in facial recognition applications by mitigating vulnerabilities related to impersonation through images or videos. Experiments conducted on various datasets show the effectiveness of the system, demonstrating its resilience to spoofing attempts and guaranteeing reliable face recognition with integrated aliveness detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Addressing the global challenges of water resource depletion and efficient agricultural water management has led to the emergence of an innovative solution - the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into irrigation systems. This abstract introduces a smart irrigation system designed to harness IoT capabilities, ultimately optimizing water utilization and enhancing crop yields. The proposed smart irrigation system comprises several key components: sensor nodes, actuators, a central controller, and cloud-based data analytics. Soil moisture sensors are placed in field, continuously monitoring soil moisture levels in real-time. These sensors transmit the collected data wirelessly to a central controller. This central controller, equipped with predefined thresholds and crop-specific parameters, processes the incoming data to determine irrigation requirements. To control water flow within the irrigation system, the system employs actuators like water pumps or valves. The central controller makes data-driven decisions, activating or deactivating these actuators based on sensor data analysis. Moreover, the system has the capability to incorporate weather forecast data to dynamically adjust irrigation schedules. Crucially, cloud-based data analytics play a pivotal role in this system. They store and analyze the collected data using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques. This analysis identifies patterns, optimizes irrigation schedules, and generates actionable insights for farmers. The system also enables notifications and alerts, which can be sent to farmers through mobile applications or web interfaces, allowing them to remotely monitor and manage the irrigation process. © 2024 IEEE.

Virtual reality (VR) technology offers potential opportunities for the assessment and intervention of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This research article presents a study evaluating the effectiveness and usability of a VR-based attention assessment tool designed to measure attention profiles across diverse populations in diverse settings. The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and usability of the tool in healthcare settings through user trials involving participants with varying levels of VR experience. The user experiences, such as comfort levels, the incidence of motion sickness, ease of controls, immersion, sense of presence, and overall satisfaction, are evaluated in terms of VR features. Results indicated positive feedback from participants on the developed tool. These findings highlight the potential of the tool as a valuable tool for attention assessment in healthcare settings. This study accentuates the need for VR technology in healthcare to enhance attention disorder assessment and management, opening avenues for future research and implementation. © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), this study addresses a fundamental question that causes the emerging trends within the IoV landscape, Previous research in IoV has laid the groundwork but is limited by conventional single-modal methods. This study advances our understanding by incorporating innovative Multi-Modal Visual Features Perception Technology by inputting various images from LiDAR cameras, Radar and processing using ConvolutionalNeural Networks (CNN), alongside single-modal approaches. Through this research, we uncover hidden facets of IoV, promising transformative insights. The implementation of Multi-Modal Visual Features Perception Technology using deep learning, along with single-modal methods, holds the potential to revolutionize vehicular connectivity and shape a more connected and secure future. © 2024 IEEE.

This study develops a machine learning framework to classify infant cries using 457 audio features, including time domain features like Zero-Crossing Rate (ZCR) for frequency analysis and Quadratic Mean RMS for power measurement. Frequency-domain features, notably Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCCs), alongside Mel-spectrograms and Time Series Imaging (TSI) provide detailed visualization of audio signals. The data is split into 80% training and 20% testing sets with 10-fold cross-validation for tuning. Several machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Support Vector Classifier, Decision Trees, Random Forests, and XGBoost, are evaluated. Hyperparameter tuning through grid search shows the Random Forest model with MFCC features achieves a peak accuracy of 98.03%. Evaluation using accuracy, confusion matrices, and feature importance highlights MFCC’s role in classification. Results demonstrate the effectiveness of combining machine learning with classical feature extraction for infant cry classification, supporting early health monitoring. Future work includes ensemble techniques to boost performance. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper centers on pushing the boundaries of AI and computer vision through an inventive approach to video captioning, leveraging the powerful Contrastive Language Image Pretraining (CLIP) model. In stark contrast to conventional methods, our proposed system ingeniously merges CLIP's unique ability to comprehend both textual and visual components, establishing a unified embedding space. This integration results in heightened context awareness and semantic depth, revolutionizing the comprehension of video content and outperforming traditional approaches. The AI-enhanced video captioning system represents a significant leap forward in the realm of generating precise and meaningful captions for a wide array of videos. The distinctive feature of our system lies in its preprocessing modules, adept at extracting intricate visual features and encoding nuanced textual descriptions. Additionally, we fine-tune the CLIP model on an extensive dataset of video-caption pairs, allowing it to capture complex relationships between visual and textual elements. This approach ensures that the model not only excels in providing accurate captions for diverse video content but also exhibits a remarkable ability to generalize well to previously unseen data. The result is a robust and contextually relevant captioning system that contributes to the evolution of AI applications in video understanding. © 2024 IEEE.

Smart fish monitoring system using IoT used to maintain a fresh water in the aquarium for aqua life environment. It features to monitor the freshness of the water for healthier aqua life environment. This proposed system works as a fish feeding system which can be controlled by a portable mobile phone in its operation even when not in close vicinity. This system works based on IoT and makes sure that the observation of the aquarium can be done via an application on the mobile phone or via the dashboard provided by Arduino IoT Cloud in the laptop. System uses various calibrated sensors to monitor the water level, temperature readings of the tank or small ponds. Apart from that air pump, water heater and fish feeding process can be turned on or off based on the input from the user from the application. For this proposed design distance, is never an issue. This helps you to feed your fishes with just the press of a button on your phone. It also gives you access to turn off and on the air pump in the aquarium as per your wish. Apart from this, the temperature conditions in your fish tank are constantly monitored and if the temperature gets anywhere below the certain range, it ensures that the water heater is automatically turned on and regulated as needed. Apart from this it has a water level monitor which helps notify you when the water level has reduced below a certain point. © 2024, CRC Press/Balkema. All rights reserved.

In today's computing era, fog computing has emerged as a transformative paradigm, facilitating real-time data processing at the network edge to reduce latency and enhance responsiveness. However, ensuring optimal Quality of Service (QoS) in fog environments, while safeguarding data integrity, presents a tough challenge. This research endeavours to address this critical concern by introducing a comprehensive framework that systematically boosts QoS through the meticulous integration of blockchain technology. Probing into the association of fog computing and blockchain, this study pioneers sophisticated strategies that target the reduction of latency, the amplification of scalability, and the precision management of resources. Through complex process of implementation and systematic evaluation, our proposed strategies manifest demonstrable enhancements across key QoS metrics, prominently including latency and throughput. These enhancements are substantiated through the inclusion of practical case studies that highlight the tangible benefits of our approach in a diverse range of scenarios. This research advances the understanding of the synergistic potential of fog computing and blockchain, while simultaneously empowering practitioners with actionable insights to bind these technologies harmoniously. By combining these innovations, both enhanced QoS and fortified data processing at the network edge become attainable objectives, furthering the evolution of modern computing paradigms. © 2024 IEEE.

Image exploration adopts several dimensionalities with web-based tasks, integrating Streamlit and OpenCV to create an interactive platform for advanced image enhancement. Alongside the transformative tool enabling conversion of black and white images into vibrant compositions, an innovative styling suite offers diverse artistic filters. Notably, the addition of a camera option allows users to capture photos directly within the interface. Through Streamlit's intuitive interface and OpenCV's robust image processing, users experience real-time previews for seamless colorization and filtering. The proposed methodology involves designing a responsive web interface, optimizing Streamlit widgets for file uploads and style selection, and leveraging OpenCV for image processing. Results demonstrate the application's effectiveness, providing immediate insights into style impact. Challenges include processing speed optimization, with future research directions exploring advanced Machine Learning (ML) models for dynamic style transfer. In summary, this research advances interactive image processing, offering a refined platform for creative visual content enhancement. The results obtained is promising leading to effective image colorization and styling, thereby improving the quality of the image. © 2024 IEEE.

Marker-based Augmented Reality (AR) technology has gained substantial attention in recent years due to its potential to enhance user interactions with the real world by overlaying digital content onto physical objects. This research paper presents a prototype mobile application of marker-based AR technology called MapEdu in the form of an interactive Indian map designed as an assistive technology for children. The primary objective of this study is to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of using marker-based AR within a mobile application to create an interactive and engaging learning experience for children, specifically focusing on the geographical and cultural aspects of India. The proposed mobile application aims to provide an educational platform that seamlessly blends digital text information with real-world geographic maps, enabling children to explore and learn about various states, cities, landmarks, and cultural elements of India. The findings of this paper highlights the benefits of interactive learning through AR, particularly in subjects that involve spatial and geographical concepts. The MapEdu application's effectiveness as an assistive technology for children can pave the way for the integration of AR into educational curricula, fostering a more immersive and engaging learning environment. © 2024 IEEE.
