In high-risk industrial environments like nuclear power plants, precise defect identification and localization are essential for maintaining production stability and safety. However, the complexity of such a harsh environment leads to significant variations in the shape and size of the defects. To address this challenge, we propose the multivariate time series segmentation network(MSSN), which adopts a multiscale convolutional network with multi-stage and depth-separable convolutions for efficient feature extraction through variable-length templates. To tackle the classification difficulty caused by structural signal variance, MSSN employs logarithmic normalization to adjust instance distributions. Furthermore, it integrates classification with smoothing loss functions to accurately identify defect segments amid similar structural and defect signal subsequences. Our algorithm evaluated on both the Mackey-Glass dataset and industrial dataset achieves over 95% localization and demonstrates the capture capability on the synthetic dataset. In a nuclear plant's heat transfer tube dataset, it captures 90% of defect instances with75% middle localization F1 score.

Researchers have recently achieved significant advances in deep learning techniques, which in turn has substantially advanced other research disciplines, such as natural language processing, image processing, speech recognition, and software engineering. Various deep learning techniques have been successfully employed to facilitate software engineering tasks, including code generation, software refactoring, and fault localization. Many studies have also been presented in top conferences and journals, demonstrating the applications of deep learning techniques in resolving various software engineering tasks. However,although several surveys have provided overall pictures of the application of deep learning techniques in software engineering,they focus more on learning techniques, that is, what kind of deep learning techniques are employed and how deep models are trained or fine-tuned for software engineering tasks. We still lack surveys explaining the advances of subareas in software engineering driven by deep learning techniques, as well as challenges and opportunities in each subarea. To this end, in this study, we present the first task-oriented survey on deep learning-based software engineering. It covers twelve major software engineering subareas significantly impacted by deep learning techniques. Such subareas spread out through the whole lifecycle of software development and maintenance, including requirements engineering, software development, testing, maintenance, and developer collaboration. As we believe that deep learning may provide an opportunity to revolutionize the whole discipline of software engineering, providing one survey covering as many subareas as possible in software engineering can help future research push forward the frontier of deep learning-based software engineering more systematically. In addition to revealing the frequency pulling phenomena that occurs when a radio frequency (RF) signal is fed into an opto-electronic oscillator (OEO), this research proposes an analytical method for studying the non-linear dynamics of a single-loop OEO. Under pulling to locked condition, the difference in phase is approximately predicted by the formulation of the phase perturbation. Here, we investigate how the phase difference, locking time, beat frequency, average frequency, and various optical fiber lengths affect the lock-range when subjected to a modest injection RF signal. Find the minimal power needed to lock the OEO for various injected signal frequencies as well. The frequency pulling phenomena is evident in every one of the analytical statements. The OEO output spectra's harmonics' amplitude can be adjusted and locked at a different frequency by adjusting the injected RF signal's power. To validate the analytical technique, the simulation results are also provided. © 2024 IEEE.

Vehicle cloud computing (VCC) is a recent area of study that blends vehicular networks with cloud computing, offering networking and sensor capabilities to vehicles for interaction with other vehicles and roadside infrastructure. Integrating unidentified vehicles and infrastructure through a public network has raised concerns about security and privacy in VCC. Several researchers have proposed secure authentication mechanisms to address these issues and ensure secure data transmission in VCC. However, exchanging vehicle data in a vehicular cloud (VC) system presents specific challenges, including maintaining data privacy and implementing lightweight authentication procedures. Therefore, this study proposes an efficient authentication and secure data transfer mechanism for VC systems. The proposed approach utilizes Dual Hashing-based Secure Hashing Algorithm-384 (DHS384) and Modified Elliptical Curve Cryptography (MECC). An optimal resource allocation (RA) scheme is introduced to allocate VC resources optimally to a suitable virtual machine using the Improved Harris Hawks Optimization (IHHO) algorithm. FERMixNet: An Occlusion Robust Facial Expression Recognition Model with Facial Mixing Augmentation and Mid-Level Representation Learning

Facial expressions can provide a better understanding of people's mental status and attitudes towards specific things. However, facial occlusion in real world is an unfavorable phenomenon that greatly affects the performance of facial expression recognition models. Recent works addressing the occlusion problem have primarily relied on attention mechanisms or occlusion discarding methods that focus on non-occluded regions of the face. However, these methods have not achieved a good balance between occlusion robustness and model efficiency. In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient model, called FERMixNet, for occluded facial expression recognition. The model incorporates a novel facial mixing augmentation strategy (FERMix) that generates new training samples by simulating real-world facial occlusion and preserving high expression-related semantic information. By co-training the original and newly generated samples, the model's occlusion robustness is improved without increasing its complexity during inference. Additionally, to further enhance the model's occlusion robustness, we include mid-level representation learning in the network to learn the discriminative non-occluded local features of the samples with low computational cost. Extensive experiments on four public facial occlusion datasets: Occlusion-RAF-DB, Occlusion-FERPlus and FED-RO show that the proposed model achieves state-of-the-art results which demonstrates the good robustness of our method for occluded facial expression recognition. Meanwhile, the proposed model also achieves state-of-the-art results on the in-the-wild facial expression datasets RAF-DB, AffectNet-8, and AffectNet-7. It proves that the proposed model has good application prospects in real world. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

circ2CBA: prediction of circRNA-RBP binding sites combining deep learning and attention mechanism

In this paper,a reasoning enhancement method based on RGCN(Relational Graph Convolutional Network)is proposed to improve the detection capability of UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)on fast-moving military targets in urban battlefield *** combining military images with the publicly available VisDrone2019 dataset,a new dataset called VisMilitary was built and multiple YOLO(You Only Look Once)models were tested on *** to the low confidence problem caused by fuzzy targets,the performance of traditional YOLO models on real battlefield images decreases ***,we propose an improved RGCN inference model,which improves the performance of the model in complex environments by optimizing the data processing and graph network *** results show that the proposed method achieves an improvement of 0.4%to 1.7%on mAP@0.50,which proves the effectiveness of the model in military target *** research of this paper provides a new technical path for UAV target detection in urban battlefield,and provides important enlightenment for the application of deep learning in military field.

Quantum Key Distribution or QKD revolutionizes secure communication using quantum mechanics. Unlike traditional cryptographic methods vulnerable to advances in computing power, QKD guarantees unconditional security by detecting any eavesdropping attempt. Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) constitutes a through development in the realm of secure communications by utilizing the ideas of quantum mechanics to provide potentially unbreakable encryption. This study examines the most current advancements in QKD, including the recently announced Measurement-Device-Independent QKD (MDI-QKD) and protocols like BB84 and E91. We analyze the real-world implementation, including satellite-based QKD and quantum repeaters. Furthermore, we discuss the challenges and opportunities of integrating QKD into present communication infrastructure. The significance of QKD in attaining secure communication networks for the next generation is underscored by our findings, which also have ramifications for forthcoming research and applications. Ultimately, this research aims to contribute to the development of robust and impenetrable communication networks in an increasingly interconnected world. © 2024 IEEE.
