The air quality index (AQI) is a metric used to report air quality levels. There has been a substantial rise in the level of air pollution in Indian cities. Multiple methodologies exist for formulating a mathematical equation to ascertain the air quality index. Multiple studies have established a correlation between exposure to air pollution and negative health effects in the general population. The objective of this study is to determine the optimal approach for predicting AQI in order to aid in climate regulation. Nine separate Machine learning (ML) algorithms have been employed in the suggested study to ascertain the AQI. The use of the SMOTE algorithm in the datasets in ML resulted in improved accuracy when comparing the outcomes. Furthermore, all of the implementations have been thoroughly documented using graphs and metrics, which clearly illustrate the differences in outcomes and aid in identifying the specific factors that led to the improvement in accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper adopts a microservice architecture to design an intelligent monitoring system for rail transit platforms. The system relies on high-definition video surveillance and utilizes technologies such as video understanding and human posture recognition to comprehensively supervise the entire platform. It uses digital twin technology to model the station and achieve 3D visualization operation and maintenance, displaying real-time passenger flow information and trends, regional passenger flow information and congestion levels, emergency events (fights, falls, lean against platform screen doors, etc.) alarm information and records, and improving passenger safety during boarding. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently revealed beam stealing attacks could greatly threaten the security and privacy of IEEE 802.11ad *** premise to restore normal network service is detecting and locating beam stealing attackers without their *** consistency-based methods are only valid for one single attacker and are *** the viewpoint of image processing,this paper proposes an algorithm to jointly detect and locate multiple beam stealing attackers based on RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator)map without the training process involved in deep learning-based ***,an RSSI map is constructed based on interpolating the raw RSSI data for enabling high-resolution localization while reducing monitoring ***,three image processing steps,including edge detection and segmentation,are conducted on the constructed RSSI map to detect and locate multiple attackers without any prior knowledge about the *** evaluate our proposal’s performance,a series of experiments are conducted based on the collected *** results have shown that in typical parameter settings,our algorithm’s positioning error does not exceed 0.41 m with a detection rate no less than 91%.

The armature coil of the superconducting synchronous motor for electric aircraft requires a current of 1,000 A or more. However, a single superconducting tape at liquid nitrogen temperatures is insufficient for this operating current. Therefore, the armature coil should be composed of multi-strand parallel conductors. If the coil is constructed from parallel conductors, the inductance balance between the parallel conductors will be collapsed, so the current distributions will be non-uniform. As a solution for this issue, the uniform current distribution can be achieved by the transposition technique that changes the order in which tapes are stacked. Our previous research has developed the transposition method for the 2n-strand parallel conductors (n = 1, 2, 3, and so on). However, some of the superconducting synchronous motors are actually designed using a number of parallel conductors other than 2n. This study focused on the three- and the six-strand parallel conductors. We analytically clarified the unique transposition configuration for the three-strand parallel conductors that achieves uniform current distribution, and the transposition configuration for the six-strand parallel conductors by combining the transposition configuration for the three- and two-strand parallel conductors. As a result, the current distribution ratio became less than ±5% when the number of turns of the double pancake coil was a multiple of six by applying the transposition. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Sugarcane is a globally significant sugar source and economic crop, often threatened by various diseases during its growth process. Traditional disease identification methods rely on manual experience and field surveys, which are not only time-consuming and laborious but also susceptible to subjective factors. With the rapid development of deep learning technology, it has demonstrated immense potential in the field of image recognition and classification. This paper aims to explore deep learning-based methods for sugarcane disease identification and classification, by constructing a convolutional neural network(CNN) model to achieve automatic identification and classification of common sugarcane diseases. The research results indicate that the constructed CNN model achieves high recognition accuracy and classification precision on the sugarcane disease dataset, providing an effective means for intelligent monitoring and management of sugarcane diseases. Autonomous Vehicle (AV) usage has become predominant in the rapidly evolving landscape of urban transportation. Integrating AVs and non-AVs in the existing traffic infrastructure has significantly increased the complexity of traffic patterns. This research work primes the enhanced Traffic Management System (e-TMS), a solution implemented to expedite Emergency Vehicle (EV) travel in the context of Connected AVs (CAVs) and ensured secured communication employing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) among the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) framework. When an EV is detected, the IoV system verifies the EV's signal using PKI, ensuring its authenticity and integrity by encrypting the communication between the EV and Road Side Units (RSUs). Further, the e-TMS activates the platooning process where CAVs in the EV's lane shift to the adjacent lanes and dynamically form platoons to create a dedicated lane for the EV. To further optimize the platooning process, an Adaptive Smart Leader Selection (ASLS) algorithm is employed to select a leader vehicle spontaneously among the AVs based on the proximity to the EV, communication reliability, and lane position. Radio Detection and Ranging devices aid this platooning process by providing distance and target velocity, which are needed to maintain the required distance between the AVs and ensure safe platoon formation. The e-TMS enhances EV response times and overall traffic flow efficiency and resulted in 27.8% increase in mean speed compared to the traditional methods. © 2014 IEEE.

This work investigates the use of Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEAs) in the Hardware Design Space Exploration context. Through the use of a heterogeneous data set that spanned different hardware configurations and performance measurements, four widely known MOEAs namely NSGA-II, SPEA2 IBEA MOPSO have been systematically assessed. Experiments have been aimed at major indicators, including convergence, diversity, and hypervolume maximization. It has been shown that NSGA-II and SPEA2 have been largely well-balanced in terms of convergence versus diversity, a feature that makes them suitable options for the optimization task. IBEA has been best in hypervolume maximization, which indicates that it is a powerful method when applied to scenarios where extensive coverage of the design space needs to be achieved. MOPSO, using the ideas from particle swarm optimization, gave a solid competitor that featured excellent convergence and diversity. This work also does a comparative study with related works, which shows the generality of MOEAs in different domains such as facility location optimization, system design and control theory robotics bioinformatics computer vision, and networked systems. The research provides relevant inputs to help researchers and practitioners choose the best algorithms for hardware design optimization, which includes considering specific goals and constraints. Consequently, the research shows us how this way and a method of creation. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problems of RRT-Connect algorithm generating a large number of invalid nodes in narrow channels, long planning time, long path length and low pass rate in narrow road conditions, an algorithm named RRT-Stream is proposed, which is an improved RRT-Connect algorithm based on the idea of water flow, which first enhances the orientation of the RRT-Connect algorithm by limiting the sampling interval, so as to converge quickly. Then, when encountering obstacles, the water flow algorithm is used to quickly bypass the obstacles, and the circle drawing method is used to detect whether it has entered the narrow passage. In order to improve the versatility of the algorithm and make the algorithm explore normally with or without narrow channels, the RRT-Stream+ algorithm is proposed, which uses a heuristic search strategy, and the strategy of leaving the obstacle is changed to choosing to leave the obstacle at a lower cost. In order to prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, MATLAB is used to simulate in three different maps, and the simulation results show that compared with the original algorithm, the algorithm has a smaller number of nodes, faster convergence speed, shorter planned path, and higher pass rate in narrow road conditions. Finally, the practicability of the algorithm is confirmed by the path planning experiment of the physical robot. © 2024 IEEE.
