Road safety can be creatively increased by utilizing systems for reporting and detecting accidents use the YOLO algorithm. Yolo, which stands for "You Only Look Once,"is a sophisticated object recognition system that can identify and pinpoint objects in live video streams. By identifying accidents and notifying emergency services, the system lowers the reaction times and increases the possibility of saving lives by utilizing the YOLO algorithm. The object detection and alarm systems are the two primary parts of the proposed system. The YOLO method is employed by the object recognition module to look for accidents in live video broadcasts. A module of accident photos was used to teach the system to accurately identify incidents. When an accident is discovered, an alert system is activated. The location of the accident and a brief account of what transpired are communicated to the emergency services by the alert system. This information is communicated to emergency services through a wireless communication network, which expedites response times and increases the likelihood of saving lives. Positive results were obtained by testing the system using the images and an accident module. It was shown that the warning system could react in a couple of seconds and that the YOLO algorithm could identify accidents having a precision of around 94. Highways, busy intersections, and other high-risk areas may have systems in place to increase traffic safety and lower the number of accidents. Developing crash detection and warning systems using deep learning using the YOLO technique is one way to potentially increase road safety. With the use of technology, problems may be precisely identified in real-time video feeds, alerting emergency services and potentially increasing survival rates and reaction times. © 2024 IEEE.

In the aftermath of natural disasters, timely and accurate building damage assessment is crucial for effective disaster response. This research introduces an innovative integrated ResNet-U-Net ensemble model that significantly enhances the accuracy and efficiency of damage detection from satellite imagery. The model combines the deep feature extraction capabilities of ResNet with the precise localization advantages of U-Net, supplemented by attention mechanisms to focus on critical damage indicators. Methodologically, the research employs a dataset of high-resolution satellite images from post-Hurricane Iota, processed through normalization and augmentation techniques. The model demonstrates exceptional accuracy, achieving 96.91% on an unbalanced dataset representative of real-world conditions, and 89.35% on a balanced dataset. This performance indicates a substantial improvement over existing approaches, offering a rapid and reliable tool for aiding disaster relief efforts. The proposed model's computational efficiency and generalizability underscore its potential to transform disaster management practices. One of the newest technologies, mobile health, has the potential to support the provision of care for older adults and offer them individualised treatment. This study’s goal is to evaluate the benefits and challenges of personalised mobile health (PMH) for elderly residential care. Virtual worlds are quickly integrating into the landscape of instructional technologies. One of the most well-known of these settings is Second Life (SL). Despite the potential of SL for health professions education, there aren’t many official SL applications for this purpose, and the effectiveness of these applications hasn’t been evaluated to the fullest extent possible. Similarly, it appears that nothing is known about the use of virtual worlds for continuing medical education. In order to better grasp the fundamentals of the aid of MVIs for personal health monitoring (PHM), we were able to pinpoint the key disease regions, sensors, channels, calculations and communication protocols. The main obstacles limiting MVIs’ degree of integration into the international health care system were also identified. The analysis demonstrates that MVIs offer an excellent possibility for the creation of affordable, personalised health systems that meet the unique equipment requirements of a certain field of medicine. © 2023 by the authors of this article. The advent of Software-Defined Networking has revolutionized network management by decoupling the control and data planes, catering to diverse network requirements across various domains. SDNs may seem more secure than traditional networks, but they still have weaknesses and challenges in deployment. Due to its inherent flexibility and centralized control, this model change poses a risk to network integrity, confidentiality, and other security factors by introducing new vulnerabilities like packet spoofing and unauthorized access. In order to address some of the most significant security challenges with SDN implementations, we presented a thorough analysis in this paper that examined the risk associated with different SDN planes and APIs. A systematic review of the literature was carried out in order to explain the problem of potential attack situations and weaknesses. The various security suggestions that have been proposed or implemented for SDN are examined as well in this study. We also identify important research gaps based on the review of previous work that may facilitate further studies in this field. © 2024 IEEE.

The phenomenon of urban heat islands (UHI) presents a critical challenge for urban sustainability, exacerbating local temperatures, increasing energy demands, and impairing public health. Traditional methods for addressing UHI are often resource-intensive and slow. This study introduces a novel approach, utilizing a Hybrid CycleGAN-SVM (HCGS) model that leverages the synergy of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Support Vector Machines (SVMs) to efficiently analyze and mitigate UHI effects through high-resolution satellite imagery and temperature data. The model incorporates Enhanced Vision Transformers (EViTs) for superior feature extraction, adept at capturing intricate spatial and spectral urban patterns. The CycleGAN component of the model generates high-quality synthetic imagery, enhancing the dataset and addressing class imbalances, thereby bolstering the SVM classifier’s ability to precisely pinpoint heat-prone urban areas. Implemented in Google Colab, the HCGS model demonstrated exceptional performance, achieving a classification accuracy of 0.98. This indicates its potential as an effective tool for urban heat mitigation, offering actionable insights for urban planning and policy-making. By integrating advanced machine learning techniques with remote sensing data, the HCGS model paves the way for innovative climate adaptation strategies, fostering more sustainable and resilient urban environments. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This research paper introduces an innovative Smart Street Light System that optimizes street lighting operations by harnessing ambient light levels to govern the activation and deactivation of streetlights. Lux value thresholds are employed to distinguish between various lighting scenarios, ranging from bright sunlight to subdued sunlight and complete darkness. Moreover, the paper explores the potential integration of an ultrasonic sensor (US 100) for detecting approaching vehicles and pedestrians, by using advanced machine learning algorithms, thereby enhancing system capabilities. The novel use of Machine Learning algorithms, extensive training of the model, on dataset built using real world conditions, enhances the output accuracy of the model, which gives the model the capabilities to take decisions on its own and thus create a self-sustainable ecosystem, harnessing advanced technologies, without any human involvement. The migration behavior of regular passengers in city transport refers to the movement patterns and preferences of individuals who use public transportation on a regular basis. These passengers may have specific routes, travel times, and preferences for certain modes of transportation. Passenger flow prediction is crucial for understanding and managing this behavior. Accurate predictions enable transportation operators to optimize their services by adjusting vehicle frequency and capacity, deploying additional services during peak periods, providing real-time information, identifying high-demand areas, and expanding the network. This improves the efficiency and reliability of public transportation, catering to the needs of regular passengers. Data science and machine-learning methods allow us to extract correlations from historical data, improving the accuracy of passenger flow prediction. The passenger flow on a station is highly affected by various factors such as the day of the week, holiday, rain, available routes from that station, and some uncertain events like COVID-19. In this study, we have successfully reported passenger flow prediction at various stations using ensemble machine-learning algorithms. Comparative analysis of implemented work has been carried out with the help of statistical parameters and visual infographic details. For accurate prediction model, accurate data cleaning, pre-processing and feature selection based on correlation have been performed on real dataset of Thane Municipal Transport (TMT) from April 2021 to May 2022. We have also compared the performance of prediction models based on month, day and individual station for moderately deviated data and highly deviated data resulted due to effect of COVID-19 pandemic and Taukte cyclone. An exhaustive comparative analysis between train set and test set have been reported with necessary parameters. With the extensive research of skyline frequent-utility pattern mining in the field of data mining, various algorithms emerge in an endless stream, but because these algorithms are limited by the size of the data set, traditional pattern algorithms do not perform well in medium and large databases. Therefore, this paper proposed the EFUP-MR algorithm by adding thresholds and applied it to the hadoop platform. It can run in medium and large databases, solve the problem of low efficiency in the traditional pattern, and because of the threshold setting, it can help users obtain the required elite itemsets more accurately. The present research provides an analysis of the development and implementation of a deep learning-based diagnosis system for liver cancer. The provided system was developed using a dataset encompassing 2300 sensor readings, including imaging, clinical, and genomic data. A range of deep learning features was implemented to improve the early detection of liver cancer such as CNN, VGG 16, VGG 19, and Inception V3. The data were divided into two categories: one is for training, and another used for testing. The results of the data analysis have shown that VGG 19 provides the highest diagnostic accuracy of 98.76%, with VGG 16, Inception V3 and CNN displaying the levels of 94.5%, 93.4%, and 90.25%, respectively. The Model performance analysis was also augmented at the application of precision, recall, and F1 score indicators, as well as using AUC-ROC values which highlighted VGG 19 as the most effective algorithm. Another method of evaluation was the application of confusion matrices for plotting the results based on the number of true positive, true negative, false positive, and false negative detections, where all the samples from the dataset were added to each model calculation. The obtained results have shown the importance of multimodal data for the increase of diagnosis accuracy and revealed the promising potential of advanced computation techniques in medical analytics. In such a way, it can be stated that the developed deep learning models contribute to the ability of healthcare specialists in the definition of liver cancer at early stages, which allows timely interventions and facilitates the development of a range of personalized treatment protocols. The application of such algorithms has the potential to reshape liver cancer diagnostics, where major tasks are associated with further improvement and validation of the developed algorithms based on clinical case studies. © 2024 IEEE.
