Schelling games use a game-theoretic approach to study the phenomenon of residential segregation. We consider four global measures of diversity, and prove asymptotically tight or almost tight bounds on the price of anarchy with respect to these measures on both general graphs and common specific graphs. In addition we did simulations of our swap games.

Recent advances in DeepFake face-swapping technology have made it simple to create fake videos that appear remarkably real. Since it has been employed in numerous instances for deceit, extortion, and the falsification of facts, its widespread use has generated a huge social, security, and political risk. Its use on websites and social media has become more widespread. Detecting this crime is becoming more and more important due to the potential harm false videos may inflict on a global scale. This research offers a method for building a deep learning model that really can tell the difference between authentic and false videos. The article describes how to create new models based on the VGG16 neural network, a previously created neural network that does image categorization, using transfer learning in the computer vision field. Deep learning is still becoming better at both producing and spotting DeepFakes. DeepFake detection algorithms are developed using dated public datasets, and as a result, they may become obsolete with time. and require continual updating. The research findings are encouraging, and our results reached an accuracy rate of over 90%. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper describes analysis and evaluation of harmonics reduction for Active LC Low Pass Filter (LC-LPF) attached Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) drive operated by IRM-ILQ (Inverse Reference Model - Inverse Linear Quadratic) current control. Harmonics due to high-speed switching of inverter should be reduced since it brings not only low efficiency motor drive such as torque ripple, also cause electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems. Those problems will be solved by appending LC-LPF though, LC resonant phenomena against inverter's carrier frequency and motor's operating frequency should be considered. The IRM-ILQ control is classified into modern control methods and simultaneously transacts multiple variables. Owing to it, stable motor drive can be realized even though LC-LPF is attached. In experiments, degrees of the harmonics reduction by Active LC-LPF are evaluated via Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and confirmed 2 % of voltage distortion on average in rated speed region.

Abstract—In recent years, wireless communication systems have increasingly adopted orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) due to its high transmission data rate and resistance to frequency selective fading. The transmitted OFDM signal's high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), however, represents a significant flaw in the OFDM system at the transmitter. To get a satisfactory PAPR reduction without signal distortion, the selected mapping (SLM) technique is applied. This paper proposes a unique Adaptive Genetic Algorithm (AGA)-based PAPR time reduction method. The suggested method is used to search for the best phase rotation factors in an SLM-OFDM system in order to reduce PAPR as much as possible. According to the simulation results, the proposed approach reduces PAPR by roughly 3.87 dB when compared to SLM-OFDM. Comparing the suggested AGA SLM-OFDM to the traditional GA SLMOFDM with the same parameters, an excellent learning time reduction of roughly 95.6% is also achieved. © 2023, The Authors. Optical fibre sensors are currently used to detect many non-electrical phenomena. The latest sensors analyze the polarization properties of light inside an optical fiber. Unlike interferometric methods, this method uses the interference of two planes of polarization at the output of the optical fibre. The sensors are divided into linear polarizer sensors or multi-fibre interference sensors based on different ways of converting the polarization state into a change in the intensity of the optical radiation. These sensors are particularly suitable for low frequency vibration measurements due to the transformation of beats into the longitudinal deformation of the optical fibre. The aim of the presented measurements was to demonstrate that these polarization vibration sensors have excellent sensitivity and are thus suitable for vibration detection. This paper demonstrates that polarization sensors have excellent sensitivity, are convenient and inexpensive to install, and, due to their non-electric nature, are suitable for hazardous environments. In addition, it is possible to employ these sensors as intrusion detection and prevention systems and remotely power them at a distance of tens of kilometers. The motivation for this research was the lack of information and equipment for vibration testing of optical fibres and the associated polarization changes.

A distance oracle (DO) for a graph $G$ is a data structure that, when queried with vertices $s,t$ , returns an estimate $\widehat{d}(s,t)$ of their distance in $G$ . The oracle has stretch $(\alpha, \beta)$ if the estimate satisfies $d(s,t)\leqslant \widehat{d}(s,t)\leqslant \alpha\cdot d(s,t)+\beta$ . An $f-\mathbf{edge}$ fault-tolerant distance sensitivity oracle $(f-\mathbf{DSO})$ additionally receives a set $F$ of up to $f$ edges and estimates the distance in $G-F$ . Our first contribution is the design of new distance oracles with subquadratic space for undirected graphs. We show that introducing a small additive stretch $\beta > 0$ allows one to make the multiplicative stretch $\alpha$ arbitrarily small. This sidesteps a known lower bound of $\alpha\geqslant 3$ (for $\beta=0$ and subquadratic space) [Thorup & Zwick, JACM 2005]. We present a DO for graphs with edge weights in $[0, W]$ that, for any positive integer $\ell$ and any $c\in(0,\ell/2]$ , has stretch $(1+\frac{1}{\ell},2W)$ , space $\widetilde{O}(n^{2-\frac{c}{\ell}})$ , and query time $O(n^{c})$ , generalizing results by Agarwal and Godfrey [SODA 2013] to arbitrarily dense graphs. Our second contribution is a framework that turns an $(\alpha,\beta)- \mathbf{stretch}$ DO for unweighted graphs into an $(\alpha(1+\varepsilon),\beta)-\mathbf{stretch}. f-\mathbf{DSO}$ with sensitivity $f=o(\log(n)/\log\log n)$ retaining sub-quadratic space. This generalizes a result by Bilò, Chechik, Choudhary, Cohen, Friedrich, Krogmann, and Schirneck [TheoretiCS 2024]. Combining the framework with our new DO gives an $f-\mathbf{DSO}$ that, for any $\gamma\in(0, (\ell+1)/2]$ , has stretch $((1+\frac{1}{\ell})(1+\varepsilon), 2)$ , space $n^{2-\frac{\gamma}{(t+1)(f+1)}+o(1)}/\varepsilon^{f+2}$ , and query time $\widetilde{O}(n^{\gamma}/\varepsilon^{2})$ . With the growing demand for data-intensive applications, offloading tasks to multi-access edge computing (MEC) servers has become essential. However, privacy concerns arise as sensitive data is transmitted to remote servers. To address this, the proposed method uses deep learning techniques to intelligently analyze and classify data packets, ensuring that only non-sensitive information is offloaded. This paper proposes a novel approach called a deep post-decision state (PDS) learning privacy-concerned offloading in MEC-enabled 6G Environments. A Post-Decision State (PDS) approach that selectively selects data packets while maintaining privacy is used to train the deep learning model. The suggested method successfully balances the trade-off between increasing system performance and safeguarding user privacy to achieve privacy-aware offloading in MEC-enabled 6G networks, as shown by the experimental findings. Also, it performs noticeably better than the traditional DQN, according to simulation data.

The importance of silicon cannot be undermined - in photovoltaics (PV) as well as in semiconductor industries. However, silicon is very brittle. Silicon cells/wafers crack easily during manufacturing assembly and/or during device operations. Crack Catcher AI uses novel smart fracture mechanics approach with Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies to predict and control crack/damage evolution in thin silicon cells/wafers. Prevention of forest fires increasingly impacted by climate change is essential to maintain ecological balance, preserve natural resources, prevent economic loss, and protect human and animal life. Data for forest fires is available from multiple sources and is huge. Federated learning can be implemented to distribute the computing across multiple edge devices by saving transmission costs, protecting data privacy, and maintaining security with no single point of failure as local models exist across multiple resources in different geographic regions. The proposed framework extends the Spatio-Temporal Agnostic Subsampling (STAS) technique by distributing the data into multiple computation nodes to leverage federated learning. It was found that the models trained using federated learning on weather data gained on average 0.3 in F1 for classifying the occurrence of fire. This study also demonstrates how to optimally choose the sources of data for either predicting the occurrence of fire or the severity of fire.

The field of research known as 'parallel processing' examines architectural and algorithmic methods for increasing the efficiency and other desirable qualities (such as cost-effectiveness and reliability) of computers by exploiting many forms of concurrency. The development of multi-core CPUs has opened the door to novel strategies for boosting system performance via parallelism. Increasing the number of concurrent threads greatly affects the time cost. While increased parallelism might reduce calculation time, the associated synchronization costs would likely be prohibitive for most applications. In this article, we'll go through the first half of the process, which involves gathering requirements and designing a prototype;the second half, which involves monitoring and managing a program that can run on a wide range of multicore system architectures, including those with (2, 4, and 8 CPUs). A shared-memory parallel processing method was proposed and built to show off the system's full potential. The implications of multi-core systems on overall program execution time and parallel processing in shared-memory systems provide the backbone of this investigation. © 2022 IEEE.
