We report the demonstration of an integrated silicon-rich silicon nitride wavelength converter based on the Bragg scattering intermodal four-wave mixing process. this broadband wavelength converter incorporates on-chip mode conversion, multiplexing and de-multiplexing functionalities. the system allows for broadband signal conversion with a 3dB bandwidth exceeding 70 nm. © 2024 sPiE.

Emotions are very important in dealing with human decisions, interactions, and cognitive processes. Art is an imaginative human creation that should be appreciated, thought-provoking, and elicits an emotional response. the automatic recognition of emotions triggered by art is of considerable importance. it can be used to categorize artworks according to the emotions they evoke, recommend paintings that accentuate or balance a particular mood, and search for paintings of a particular style or genre that represent custom content in a custom state of impact. in this paper, we propose an attention-based multi-modal approach to emotion recognition that aims to use information from both the painting and title channels to achieve more accurate emotion recognition. Experimental results on the WikiArt emotion dataset showed the efficiency of the model we proposed and the usefulness of image and text modalities in emotion recognition. © 2021, springer Nature switzerland AG.

the realization of broadband all-optical wavelength converters and frequency synthesizers represents a key element for the development of next-generation optical communications systems. in this regard, the use of intermodal nonlinear processes in integrated waveguides has recently attracted significant interest for all-optical processing applications. Here, we present our recent results on the development of integrated and broadband wavelength converters based on the use of the Bragg scattering intermodal four-wave mixing effect in a silicon-rich silicon nitride platform.

in this paper, we proposed Linear Concept Approximation, a novel multilingual document representation approach for the task of multilingual document representation and recommendation. the main idea is in creating representations by using mappings to align monolingual representation spaces using linear concept approximation, that in turn will enhance the quality of content-based Multilingual Document Recommendation systems. the experimental results on JRC-Acquis have shown that our proposed approach outperformed traditional methods on the task of multilingual document recommendation. © 2021, springer Nature switzerland AG.

study of relationships established in social media is an emerging area of research. Online social Network (OsN) is a collection of social entities carrying a lot of information that enriches the network. A structured modelling of the OsN dataset is required for informative knowledge mining and efficient social Network Analysis (sNA). Graphical representation of data helps in analyzing the structural properties, study of dense substructure, cluster formation and identifying the numerous types of entities exhibiting associations based on different activity fields. this paper discusses about various ways of graph theoretic representations of OsN including structure-based and content or interaction-based approaches. An integrated framework is proposed in this paper that learns from various user attributes and its associated interactions, network structure, timeline history, etc. from a polarized OsN Graph for generating an efficient Friend suggestion Recommender system. © 2020, EasyChair. this paper presents an original control algorithm using Hamiltonian energy control for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMsM) drive. the algorithm addresses the challenge of constant power load (CPL), which can cause instability of the input DC bus. the Hamiltonian energy control incorporates a model-based estimation to handle the CPL. An exponentially stable state-observer calculates load torque and stator resistance, improving control efficiency. Moreover, the difference flatness approach is used to generate a current reference to compensate for speed error in the nonlinear drive system. Experimental validation is conducted on a 10kW PMsM using a dsPACE MicroLabBox controller card. the Experimental results demonstrate the proposed algorithm's effectiveness, exhibiting excellent performance even with parameter variations. © 2023 iEEE.

Diagnosing plant diseases is one of the most crucial and essential tasks in agriculture. Visual inspection or microscope is frequently used to identify causes. Visual judgment is subjective, and mistakes, biases, and optical illusions can arise due to the effect of cognitive and psychological processes and the subjective character of the job. Molecular biology, immunology, and pathogen culture-based laboratory studies sometimes take too long and do not produce results quickly enough. in light of this, automated technology's ability to quickly and accurately diagnose illness is essential. For big farms, manual observation is impracticable and costly since it requires constant plant monitoring. this article presents an optimized image enhancement enabled LstM technique for plant leaf disease detection. Leaf images data set is used as input. the noise in these leaf images is Gotten rid of by employing an adaptive filter during the preprocessing stage of the development process. the Particle swarm methodology is used by the LstM optimization method in order to get a finer level of control over the input parameters. Additionally, Grey Wolf Optimization is used in order to enhance the functionality of the input parameters of the LstM classifier. the approach known as the Gradient Boosting Decision tree is further used for classification purposes. For the purpose of the experiment, the PlantVillage data set is used. total 2500 images are selected at random for the experimental work. two hundred photographs are used in order to train the classification model, and the remaining five hundred images are used in order to test the classification model after it has been trained. in the process of classifying leaf images, the PsO LstM algorithm is becoming more accurate. PsO LstM has achieved accuracy of 99 percent.

Older adults have diversified needs often associated with particular aging scenarios. People started to use aging scenarios to provide better smart Eldercare services and develop innovative solutions. the problem is how to manage these scenarios effectively. to our best knowledge, this study is the first to develop a model to provide a structured framework of aging scenarios for research and teaching of eldercare services. Labeling aging scenarios can facilitate their collection, classification, and consolidation within this model. this study uses the automatic labeling approach to manage and utilize aging scenarios. Under each class, there are labels with different numbers and smaller granularity to reflect the requirements in each scenario case. since a scenario case often involves more than one label, properly labeling it becomes a multi-label text classification problem. We extend the multi-label text classification model LsAN for labeling aging scenario cases. For evaluation purposes, we collected 938 scenario cases as the dataset. Experimental results show that our proposed method can achieve an average accuracy of 61.66%, better than other classical methods. © 2022, springer Nature switzerland AG.

A neurofeedback (NF) -supported training is proposed to enable neurosurgeons to learn how to regulate their emotions. Electroencephalographic (EEG) signal and heart rate (HR) of 5 neurosurgeons were acquired in 4 sessions while performing NF-based emotion regulation (ER). subjects tried to counteract anxious and stressful states through NF, that is by decreasing the power in the beta band measured in the midline areas of the scalp. the assessment of the neurofeedback effectiveness was based on the use of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) in combination with EEG. therefore, EEG signal was exploited in real-time to guide the feedback and also in post processing, together with the HRV, to assess the effectiveness of the whole training. As the EEG signal is concerned, the results showed that the power in the beta band decreased within each session when the ER ability was strengthened, as reported in the literature. On the contrary, the HRV did not exhibit the expected increasing trend within each trial. When considering each the session on the whole, thus computing the HRV on a greater time interval, the HRV during the NF training is typically higher than the HRV computed during the rest and negative baseline phases.

Personal computers and the internet are used in different areas and are easier to use. Most data is easy to transmit and duplicate in digital format, and being tampered with and stolen easily leads to issues for content owners and service providers. the Paper describes a secure (tampering-resistant) method for watermarking images for protection and authentication and digital media like audio, video, and multimedia data, and a combination of singular value decomposition (sVD) and Discrete wavelet transform (DWt) for insertion watermark by MAtLAB to increase accuracy, simplicity, and flexibility Readability, secure robustness, and imperceptibility the visibility of the image. the proposed algorithm consists of three main steps: Firstly, we decomposed the original image into four sub-bands and the original watermark. secondly, embed the watermark in the LL sub-band by replacing the singular value for the watermark. Finally, embed a watermark in the other three sub-bands by adding LL values for a watermark in each sub-band in the original image.
