The polarization degree of freedom is an inherent feature of plane waves propagating in an isotropic homogeneous medium. The miniaturization of optical systems leads to the high localization of electromagnetic waves, but also to the loss of polarization control, namely, breaking TE-TM polarization degeneracy. In this work, we discover the near-field polarization degree of freedom for highly localized guided waves propagating along a dielectric metasurface. We demonstrate the opportunity to create a metasurface with the degenerate TE-TM polarization spectrum for the required operating wavelength and different constitutive materials. In particular, we analyze several possible implementations including silicon nitride and ceramic metasurfaces consisting of disk-shaped resonators, and evaluate the impact of substrate. Finally, we experimentally implement one of the metasurface designs and verify its broadband degenerate TE-TM polarization spectrum. Dyna is an effective reinforcement learning (RL) approach that combines value function evaluation with model ***,existing works on Dyna mostly discuss only its efficiency in RL problems with discrete action *** paper proposes a novel Dyna variant,called Dyna-LSTD-PA,aiming to handle problems with continuous action ***-LSTD-PA stands for Dyna based on least-squares temporal difference (LSTD)and policy ***-LSTD-PA consists of two simultaneous,interacting *** learning process determines the probability distribution over action spaces using the Gaussian distribution;estimates the underlying value function,policy,and model by linear representation;and updates their parameter vectors online by LSTD(,t).The planning process updates the parameter vector of the value function again by using ofttine LSTD(2).Dyna-LSTD-PA also uses the Sherman-Morrison formula to improve the efficiency of LSTD(,t),and weights the parameter vector of the value function to bring the two processes ***,the global error bound is derived by considering approximation,estimation,and model ***,Dyna-LSTD-PA outperforms two representative methods in terms of convergence rate,success rate,and stability performance on four benchmark RL problems.

Cancer is a rapidly evolving disease, with complex physiological changes throughout its development. Different patients of the same cancer type may require distinct treatments depending on the level of development. Hence it is essential to identify the genes and biological processes strongly associated with cancer progression to design an effective treatment plan. Our study has found that cancer samples of the same development stage (or grade, subtype) tend to share highly unique co-expression patterns, providing considerably stronger discerning power than differential expressions for cancer staging (and grading, subtyping). Based on this, we have developed a framework for identification and analyses of genes and pathways strongly associated with a cancer's development through identification of co-expression patterns that become increasingly stronger or weaker over cancer samples from early through advanced stages. Functional analyses of such co-expressed genes reveal that (1) cell-cycle, immune response, ribosome, proteasome and oxidative phosphorylation, among others, strongly associate with cancer development, (2) the co-expression patterns among ribosome, proteasome and oxidative phosphorylation genes tend to become increasingly weaker as a cancer advances, for almost all cancer types, and (3) the co-expression patterns among cell cycle and immune response genes tend to become increasingly stronger with cancer progression. We anticipate that co-expression-based analyses like we present here will become a key technique for functional studies of cancer development and evolution.

In the Internet of things (IoT) era, vehicles and other intelligent components in an intelligent transportation system (ITS) are connected, forming vehicular networks (VNs) that provide efficient and safe traffic and ubiquitous access to various applications. However, as the number of nodes in an ITS increases, it is challenging to satisfy a varied and large number of service requests with different quality of service (QoS) and security requirements in highly dynamic VNs. Intelligent nodes in VNs can compete or cooperate for limited network resources to achieve the objective for either an individual or a group. Game theory (GT), a theoretical framework designed for strategic interactions among rational decision makers sharing scarce resources, can be used to model and analyze individual or group behaviors of communicating entities in VNs. This paper primarily surveys the recent developments of GT in solving various challenges of VNs. This survey starts with an introduction to the background of VNs. A review of GT models studied in the VNs is then introduced, including the basic concepts, classifications, and applicable vehicular issues. After discussing the requirements of VNs and the motivation of using GT, a comprehensive literature review on GT applications in dealing with the challenges of current VNs is provided. Furthermore, recent contributions of GT to VNs that are integrated with diverse emerging 5G technologies are surveyed. Finally, the lessons learned are given, and several key research challenges and possible solutions of applying GT in VNs are outlined. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are catalyzing transformative changes in atomic modeling, simulation, and design. AI-driven potential energy models have demonstrated the capability to conduct large-scale, long-duration simulations with the accuracy of ab initio electronic structure methods. However, the model generation process remains a bottleneck for large-scale applications. We propose a shift towards a model-centric ecosystem, wherein a large atomic model (LAM), pre-trained across multiple disciplines, can be efficiently fine-tuned and distilled for various downstream tasks, thereby establishing a new framework for molecular modeling. In this study, we introduce the DPA-2 architecture as a prototype for LAMs. Pre-trained on a diverse array of chemical and materials systems using a multi-task approach, DPA-2 demonstrates superior generalization capabilities across multiple downstream tasks compared to the traditional single-task pre-training and fine-tuning methodologies. Based on the research prevalence of "Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)" and blockchain in recent years, this paper puts forward the integrated technology of these two technologies to achieve the complementary advantages of them and establish a safe and reliable application of IIoT involved with multiple industries , which is identified with a highly promising market prospect. Meanwhile, thanks to the rise of new energy, the "energy Internet" has been created, which results in increasingly active energy transactions. The integration of energy flow, information flow, and value flow is also in an urgent need of solution. Therefore, the term "energy blockchain" was invented according to the combination of energy Internet and blockchain. This paper mainly studies the energy blockchain in the IIoT background. A decentralized energy transaction program based on payment with credit-value loan will be proposed, aiming at the problem of large transaction confirmation delay in the blockchain system, which fails to support frequent and fast transactions. In this case, it supports industrial energy nodes to conduct speedy, safe and frequent energy transactions through credit payment.

VDPC: Variational density peak clustering algorithm

The widely applied density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm makes an intuitive cluster formation assumption that cluster centers are often surrounded by data points with lower local density and far away from other data points with higher local density. However, this assumption suffers from one limitation that it is often problematic when identifying clusters with lower density because they might be easily merged into other clusters with higher density. As a result, DPC may not be able to identify clusters with variational density. To address this issue, we propose a variational density peak clustering (VDPC) algorithm, which is designed to systematically and autonomously perform the clustering task on datasets with various types of density distributions. Specifically, we first propose a novel method to identify the representatives among all data points and construct initial clusters based on the identified representatives for further analysis of the clusters' property. Furthermore, we divide all data points into different levels according to their local density and propose a unified clustering framework by combining the advantages of both DPC and DBSCAN. Thus, all the identified initial clusters spreading across different density levels are systematically processed to form the final clusters. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed VDPC algorithm, we conduct extensive experiments using 20 datasets including eight synthetic, six real-world datasets and six image datasets. The experimental results show that VDPC outperforms two classical algorithms (i.e., DPC and DBSCAN) and four state-of-the-art extended DPC algorithms. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

How to prevent collision problems on the aircraft need frequent detection for flight conflicts, therefore, it is necessary to design a good aircraft anti-collision algorithm. This paper analyzed the existing flight conflict detection algorithm paielli algorithm and carried out error analysis. On the basis of the original algorithm, this paper eliminated non-conflicting and coordinate processing, the error rate calculated by the improved algorithm was smaller. At the same time, the algorithm was verified by simulation and comparison with the conflict warning tools used at present, which proved that the new algorithm is more effective in detecting flight conflicts when the aircraft is turning. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
