Analysis of Performance-based Fire Safety Evacuation in A College Library

Referring to the performance-based fire protection and safety evacuation, safety evacuation ability in a college library was analyzed. The fire loads and evacuation crowds of reading rooms was statistically analyzed with the on-the-spot Survey. The 4th reading room was considered as the most unfavourable evacuation area, and then it was reasonably simplified. The RSET (Required Safety Evacuation Time) was calculated according to experiential formulas, and ASET (Available Safety Evacuation Time) was determined by simulating room fire with field model FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator). A novel improve algorithm TPDE is proposed in this paper, which combines differential evolution(DE). Each individual contains two states, the attractive state and the repulsive state. In order to refrain from the shortcoming of premature convergence, a two point reversal crossover operator is defined and in the repulsive process each particle is repelled away from some inferior solution in the current tabu list to fly towards some promising areas which can introduce some new information to guide the swarm searching process. DE adjusts the mutation rate F and the crossover rate CR adaptively, taking account of the different distribution of population. TPDE maintains the diversity of population and improves the global convergence ability. It also improves the efficiency and success rate and avoids the premature convergence. Simulation and comparisons based on test-sets of CSPs demonstrate the effectiveness, efficiency and robustness of the proposed algorithm.

Statistical graph is widely used to represent quantitative data in science, business, and many other fields in our daily life. To the best of our knowledge, the neural mechanisms underlying memory retrieval based on statistical graphs have not been reported yet. We investigated this issue using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In our study, 36 normal subjects were instructed to read statistical information that was visually presented in either statistical graph or text. Then the reading stimuli disappeared, subjects were instructed to answer a question that needed to retrieval information of the content of the statistical graph or text. The direct comparison of the memory retrieval based on statistical graphs and that based on text showed that there were significantly more activated the lateral regions including ventral and dorsal pathways, as well as the parietal-temporal-occipital (PTO) association area (BA19/39);the medial regions including parahippocampal cortex (PHC) and retrosplenial complex (RSC). The results suggest that the two visual pathways and the PTO are involved in forming the imagery of statistical graphs, and the PHC and RSC are involved in the memory retrieval that played on the mental imagery of statistical graphs, in which PHC is involved in the retrieval of object-location associations and RSC is involved in orientation mechanisms. Previous studies demonstrated that spatial navigation was also composed of two similar processes: retrieval of object-location associations and orientation. We propose that memory retrieval based on statistical graphs draws on similar processing in spatial navigation that is based on the cognitive maps. © 2012 IEEE.

The traditional ontology mapping technology has the very good performance when processes between the lightweight ontology, but regarding large-scale ontology with many entities and complex relations, the mapping quality and the mapping efficiency is not very good. This paper proposed a method of alignment candidate reduction based on passing message. The method used passing message cluster' thought to cluster the entities of two ontologies, entities in the same class as the candidate set of mapping. The clustering results can be directly as m: n mapping output between two light-scale ontologies. With the large-scale ontologies produces clustering results can be output as mapping candidate sets, then use the other matching strategies to produce more accurate alignments. Experimental results show that the method by reduction candidate set when dealing with large-scale ontology mapping, the mapping of the recall and precision rate has improved.

Aiming at nonlinear decontrolled plants at large exist in industrial processes, this paper firstly introduces the support vector machine and least squares support vector machine briefly. On this basis, we propose a nonlinear generalized predictive control model based on least squares support vector machines. This method can overcome the classic quadratic programming method for solving support vector machines curse of dimensionality problem, and has a good robustness, suitable for large-scale computing. So use least squares support vector machines as nonlinear predictive model have more advantages.

Monad representing is concise and readability mainly because Monad extends List Comprehension to any Monad. This paper is concerned with the transforming from List Comprehension of functional programming language Haskell to C programs. Using Haskell itself we have also realized this transformation. Haskell is the only language that supports Monad, so our research is helpful to the building of Monad researching environments.

Model method metadata provided a new solution to the sharing of model method data in the spatial information system. Furthermore, it is crucial to research the basic model method metadata standard. With the analysis of research status at home and abroad, the author determined the main content of model method metadata, put forward the design mode, and defined the component of model method metadata using data dictionary. Finally, the author discussed deeply the data format which model method metadata can use.

The traditional method to keep drawings in Architectural Design institute is that the paper drawings are archived artificially for management. However, these paper drawings are vulnerable to such problems as being illegible, missing and others. This system is designed in line with the requirements of design institute in drawing document management and boasts the following advantages: overcoming the drawbacks arising from traditional drawing management, making the best of computer network resources, and keeping drawing document in electronic form. With respect to the system security, the abstraction algorithm is adopted for encryption of data;as for the management of approval procedure, the workflow technology is used to accomplish a more secure conservation of drawing, index easier, normative and scientific management.

The function of the parahippocampal place area (PPA) is a matter of debate. We investigated this issue in fMRI experiment by 36 normal subjects using two types of tasks: figure and text. Furthermore, the figure tasks contain two kinds of contextual associations: one is among items;the other is among items and their locations which refers to the spatial contextual associations. In contrast, the text tasks contain only item contextual associations - they do not have any spatial information. The results showed that the right PPA located at anterior lingual gyrus and left anterior parahippocampal gyrus nearby amygdala were significantly activated during both figure and text tasks, which indicate that the PPA is more involved in associative information processing. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
