Reliability analysis for strong column weak beam design of frames based on improved Monte Carlo simulaiton method

To overcome shortcomings of large amount of computational efforts and long computation time existing in Monte Carlo simulaiton for system reliability analysis, an improved method was proposed in the light of curve fitting. Uncertainty of calculation, geometric size and concrete strength were considered as random variables, seismic concept design issued by the national Code for Seismic Design of Buildings (GB50011-2010) were discussed. The strong beam weak column reliability of RC structure was analysed by enhanced Monte Carlo simulation in the light of curve fitting. Influence of moment augment factor of column issued by the national Code for Seismic Design of Buildings on strong beam weak column reliability were discussed. Result indicates that new moment augment factor of column improve the strong beam weak column reliability of reinforced concrete structure.

Statistical graph is widely used to represent quantitative data in science, business, and many other fields in our daily life. To the best of our knowledge, the neural mechanisms underlying memory retrieval based on statistical graphs have not been reported yet. We investigated this issue using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). In our study, 36 normal subjects were instructed to read statistical information that was visually presented in either statistical graph or text. Then the reading stimuli disappeared, subjects were instructed to answer a question that needed to retrieval information of the content of the statistical graph or text. The direct comparison of the memory retrieval based on statistical graphs and that based on text showed that there were significantly more activated the lateral regions including ventral and dorsal pathways, as well as the parietal-temporal-occipital (PTO) association area (BA19/39); the medial regions including parahippocampal cortex (PHC) and retrosplenial complex (RSC). The results suggest that the two visual pathways and the PTO are involved in forming the imagery of statistical graphs, and the PHC and RSC are involved in the memory retrieval that played on the mental imagery of statistical graphs, in which PHC is involved in the retrieval of object-location associations and RSC is involved in orientation mechanisms. Previous studies demonstrated that spatial navigation was also composed of two similar processes: retrieval of object-location associations and orientation. We propose that memory retrieval based on statistical graphs draws on similar processing in spatial navigation that is based on the cognitive maps.

In order to analyze the lateral distribution coefficients of simply supported slab beam bridges strengthened with polymer carbon fiber material accurately, Analytical solution of simply supported slab beam strengthened with polymer carbon fiber material under vertical half-wave sinusoidal load is deduced based on bond-slip theory and conditions of displacement compatibility. Force method equation of the method of revising hinged slabs for transverse influence line is deduced with deflection curve calculation formula which calculated by analytical solution. Analytical expression of the method of revising hinged slabs with regard to carbon fiber strengthening is obtained. The transverse influence line of the fabricated simply supported slab bridges assembly are calculated under vertical half-wave sinusoidal load based on above theory. And the lateral distribution coefficients of simply supported slab bridges are calculated with transverse influence line revised. It provides a simple and convenient practical calculation method for the practical analysis of simply supported slab beam bridges strengthened with polymer carbon fiber material. © 2011 IEEE.

Three different plasticity index subgrade soil are selected from seasonal frozen soil region. Static triaxial test is executed on the samples exposed to 0 to 7 times closed-system freeze-thaw cycles under different confining pressures. Resilient modulus is obtained from the line segment of deviator stressstrain curve. The results show that the resilient modulus of the same kind of soil increases with confining pressure;under the same freeze-thaw cycles, Resilient modulus with the same confining pressure decreases with the number of freeze-thaw cycles;Under the same confining pressure and the same freezethaw cycles, resilient modulus increases with the plasticity index. The exponential function is adopted for multiple nonlinear fitting. The relationship between resilient modulus and confining pressure, plasticity index, freeze-thaw cycles is obtained and shows a good correlation. © 2011 IEEE.

At present community intelligent system in China has such problems as serious waste and high failure rate. Above problems can be solved by the application of ZigBee technology. All relatively independent subsystems which are connected by RS485 bus in the current intelligent are accessed to network system platform which is built by using Zigbee technology and is based on RS485 interface. As to each system of intelligent community, the function of subsystem is realized by wireless network connection. There is no wiring in intelligent community system, which not only reduces the cost but also avoids the influence of thunder and lightning. The signal transmission is stable. Application of this technology fills the blank of intelligent community wireless network connection in China. © 2011 IEEE.

To solve the problems in bilateral servo control strategy of tele-operating manipulator, such as the poor tracking capability between master and slave manipulator, and force feedback imposed on the master hand when grasping strong objects, this paper proposes a bilateral servo control algorithm. Meanwhile, status investigator is used to minimize the dynamic differences of operating lever hydraulic system and eliminate the interferences of damping, friction and inertia resistance. 2DOF master-slave tele-operating system experimental panel is built up, and the experiments have been done. The experiments show that the control strategy proposed in this paper can improve effectively the force tele-existence of high stiff control joystick and the master-slave position following capability, solve sufficiently the problem of feedback force existing in some feedback force control algorithm when fetching high-stiffness objects, and provide a successful example for the practical application of force tele-existence tele-operating manipulator. © 2011 IEEE.

The experimental methods of psychology provides a basis of computer vision simulation, because it can reveal the law of human visual information processing. The shape and color are important features of stimulations, which are very crucial for the identification of stimulations. This study is based on the experimental psychology and BP neural networks, use experimental methods of reaction time measurements and feature extraction methods of the BP neural network, by the experiment of identifying three groups of geometric images of the same color in different shapes, the same shape in different colors and shape and color are both different, and attempt to explore the relationships of affect of the stimulus recognition between shape features and color features of stimulations in the visual information process. Comparing and analyzing the experimental results getting from the experimental psychology methods, we can find that: in the image feature recognition, recognizing the shape feature is faster than the color feature. And the same experimental results obtained by BP neural network simulation. © 2011 IEEE.

Separation of Objects with Unclear Edges from the Nonuniform Background

This paper presents a method for separating objects with unclear edges from the nonuniform illumination background. The paper uses an iterative lowpass Alter to estimate the rough background first. And then, objects are located by removing the estimated background from the original image, meanwhile the rough segmentation is worked out too. Next, the primary segmentation output is dilated by means of the iterative lowpass filter again to connect most of the objects together as a larger one. After that, some background points are selected from the dilated image as the control points for image background reconstruction based on B-spline. Finally, the reconstructed background is removed from the original image directly to make the separation. A quantitative evaluation of the performance is also presented in this paper.

Study the global histogram algorithm and the rigid block algorithm in image retrieval, in order to improve the lack of spatial information in the global histogram, and to improve the lack of rotation invariance and image integrity in the rigid block, this paper proposed block weighting the color feature algorithm. The algorithm first conduct color image a rigid segmentation, then sort the second moment, again add different weights in different regions. Through the image retrieval results show, the algorithm can obtain results superior to the traditional search algorithm. © 2011 IEEE.
